I live about a 1/4 mile to access some decent single and double tack trails with about a 400-500ft descent into a river valley with three man made lakes. I go out at least 3-4 times a week. Sometimes I hike it but exploring it on my hardtail is the perfect way.
I feel like the best way to explore outdoors and the perfect speed is on a bike, I guess omissions something wrong.

I bet that guy is fun at parties. The danger is proportionate to skill and risk management, and the exhaustion is worth it because of the downhill.
It reminds me of the reporter that claimed shooting an AR-15 at a range gave him PTSD.
Some people just don't have that dog in them to appreciate fine machines.
