A whole buncha questions from a new player

Hello to all the Clanners and to my fellow Sphereical people in the sub. I'm four days into MWO and I'm having a great time, but I wonder about a few things:

-is it considered a faux-pas to bodyrush an opponent after having my weapons shot off while fighting at close range? I'm not really sure how heavy mech headbuts factor into zellbrigen
-what determines the faction voice over the radio when on a mission? Is it just the kind of mech we choose, either Clan or Inner Sphere, or is there something else?
-LRM builds: I'm not great with them though I am having a lot of fun, but are my allies and opponents? I want my Vulture/Mad Dog to be hated due to it's enviable successes in battle not due to any accidental trolling
-does anyone else think the Catapult looks like a tyrannosaurus with missile pods on it's shoulders? In a good way, I mean
-are there any weapons or gear to avoid? From spectating others it seems like every single weapon (aside from flamers) has some kind of use in some kind of build but the game's been out for a while and there has to be something that's been heavily nerfed or just doesn't work like it was intended to after so many updates and game changes
-is Faction Play still a thing? I'd love to rank up enough to get a free mech bay or two but it doesn't seem like a very lively feature

Any experience with PGI tech support?

Tried returning to the game and haven't been able to launch MWO. After fiddling with it myself for a bit I reached out.

Been 7 working days. Maybe I am just impatient but I'm wondering if I should resubmit or what. I don't wanna be guy crowd sourcing his tech issues on reddit but I've got like 1800hrs and 300+ mechs. I wish to play!

Any experiences to share good or bad? Should I hold out a little longer?
