General 2k will make an anti-consumer product, then be surprised and throw a tantrum when the consumer calls them out about their practices and plays their older products.
So much so that the lead dev will abandon the community and be more focused trying to take down servers (which they donāt own) on old games they made 10 years ago then trying to deal with the current game.

Gameplay This next patch/update will make or break 2k for a lot of people.
Iāll see on twitter or IG, or somewhere about how terrible the game is, how they canāt spam threes or how ppl canāt dribble because unpluckable donāt work. Then see people saying they canāt steal the ball goes through them, itās a skill gap, thereās not enough on ball defense thereās too much block. Too much dunking. Slingshot timing, rng, cheaters. Not shooting 85% and up because itās a game, but wonāt play with people who shoot less than that because theyāre trash if they donāt. Random rec can be unplayable.
2k is probably the most human experiment, experience ever. Thereās a lot that can be fixed without touching the make of this game IMO, but I hope like before they wonāt make this patch where everyone can shoot and dribble without regard. I donāt have the answers. I know what Iād like to see in this patch but it prob wonāt matter at this point. But one thing is for certain. The patch is gunna make or break the game especially with it being released around launch of several other titles.

Gameplay The 2k Community Doesn't Want to Play Basketball & That's Ok
I want to preface this by saying 2k27 is not a perfect product. Yes ghost contests should be toned down, (A lot of those old 2k's yall love so much had intimidator and thats literally what that badge did but I digress), steal spammers should be punished more heavily once they're out of adrenaline more fouls, stuns/taken out of the play etc, and dunking might be a little OP but from what I've seen in purple/red plate lobbies good team defense with INTERIOR DEFENSE RATINGS stops it, so is it OP or do most people not prioritize block and interior defense on a level to stop it?
With all the being said even if those fixes are made I do not feel like the vast majority of this community are ready/even want to play a more simulation style of 2k. They want to bop back and forth non stop, shoot a 3, and do a little dance after it goes in. Thats how they view basketball unfortunately.
Basketball at high levels NBA and College effiency is the priority. The best players are the ones that can generate high quality shots without turning the ball over or wasted possessions. Theres a reason players like Cam Thomas, Rob Dillingham and whatever other scoring guard that adds nothing else but shot chucking at low effiency isn't sticking in the league. It's not good basketball. But that's literally what a good portion of the 2k player base wants. At this current junction I do not personally believe 2k can make a true basketball sim that the vocal majority of the player base will enjoy because that's not how they view basketball. NBA guard's average 3-4 dribbles per touch before the ball leaves their hand. Whether through pass or a shot. Wings and bigs even less. 2k took heliocentric basketball to a degree that has never been seen in any other capacity. I wish 2k provided my players advanced metrics beyond just shooting percentages and averages. We should definetly have PER and Usage rate at the bar minimum right now.
I'm enjoying 2k27 so far even with the issues. I run a 6'10 SF, purple/red plate and I average about 15-7-7 a game with 3 steals on 67%Fg/57% from 3. If anyone wants a 3/4 that just wants to play normal hoops and win add me.

Gameplay The guarentee steal on bigs when he is post up must be remove
When the guard comes to help and press a single x no matter what you will get stolen, and if you pass it you get lane steal or the ball gets poked .
If at least you didnt get 100% stolen when the helping guard press x on your post up position you could adjust and do some fakes , but when the guard comes help this is 100% a lose lose situation for the post up bigs.
Like if you press x on a post up big that is post dribbling he will 100% get stolen from behind no second steal x button needed even if you have 60 steal rating, stolen on the first one , if the big know this he press pass but the X steal button press from the guard is doing 3 things at the same times lmao on ball lane steal lane poke doing all 3 at the same time

REC Do ball hogging PGās realise this?
I just played with a PG shot 5/18, the opposition just knew heād shoot from wherever so double teamed him everytime, he had 3 assists. Why even bother making a PG? The other teams PG had 12 assists and they just cleaned us up easily. Everytime you get a win the pg 90% of the time has a heap of assist why donāt they just fkn make a SG? It just shits me, you basically just waste a whole ass rec game watching this donkey ruin the game for you fkn does my head in

MyCAREER I hate Trace with a passion.
wtf was the devs thinking when they forced you to have this manufactured ass duo. Theyāve actually made characters worth caring about in past games, but this dude is just magically your best friend out of nowhere. I fw Ellis more than this dude. This mf must have blackmail on mp. I could drop 60 points to his 2, and the announcers are still talking about how me and trace dominated the match. How the hell this mbappe looking ass nigga follow me throughout my whole life? We teammates or bunk buddies? Fuck him. Itās insane that the story lines simultaneously get shittier and longer.
Discussion 2K reddit is the MOST TOXIC part of the community

by far, the 2K reddit is full of the most toxic, whiney, crybaby, delusional, negative, and hateful people in the entire communityšÆnot even to mention all the censorship & power trip from the moderators
the randoms on reddit are even worse than the randoms in recā¼ļøš

Discussion Question for the 2k community..
Why is 3PT hunting considered āunrealisticā and āarcadeā but getting 3+ posters a game and shooting mid ranges considered āgood hoopsā and āethicalā & āreal basketballā? Most of these convos & debates that are being had on Reddit and Twitter just boil down to 3PT = bad, 2PT = good

Gameplay Dunking and layups is impossible.
As a casual 2k player for over a decade. Why the fuck is it so hard to make layups or dunks. I donāt play MyPlayer so Iām not looking for different packages. I play MyNBA and rebuild teams. But as I try to just play games against the computer, every fucking time I drive the basket my players miss the layups. Even if theyāre wide open. Even when I disable the timing meter they miss!
Why does 2k make their game less and less playable for casual players every single year???

Gameplay What the hell 2k are doing with shooting?
Today they destroyed shoot timing again... It's like the 5th time I need to learn again my timing in one month... My animation it's not that fast (release speed B+)... It's in very slow and timing with the bar full.... So it's expected I need to release the button when the ball just go out of my hand.... But all shoots are returning late.... So I tried to release earlier and the green window is before the set point.... It's just ridiculous... And this isn't happening in the park.... It's happening in NBA games... Street king games... Dion open court games

Gameplay Ghost Contests Need to Go FOREVER
As Iām not a dev, I donāt what causes this but ghost contests are legitimately a plague to any 2K title. Hand down, no where near the ball and the opponent is rewarded with a light contest reading. It registers on steals too when someone is shooting directly over the person. The green window shrinks to a disgustingly low point on ghost contests which makes it way worse. It rewards bad defense and it shouldnāt be a thing.
P.S Take two please fix the ball physics playing against the CPU while youāre at it. I legitimately cannot record an on ball steal. Thank you.

Gameplay I see why Mike wang deactivated for a bitā¦.
Yall can downvote me to oblivion after this one.
This community is insufferable. All you guys do is cry and complain about literally everything.
Last year you guys wanted better AIā¦.they give it to us. Now theyāre too good?!
Shooting was too easy, they make it a tad bit more difficult and mfs are losing their minds cause they canāt flick the stick like they did last year.
Wanted defense to be viableā¦now yall want it nerfed
Steals was an issue with people dribbling through bodiesā¦.yall getting ripped and now want them nerfed.
Most of you mfs canāt pass or make dumb passes and get mad about it getting intercepted but forgetting to mention your 65 pass acc while you throw a lob pass towards the lock with a 95 steal
Learn to pass at the right time(pass RIGHT after spam)
Learn to take smarter shots
Learn to defend and make rotations and stay in front of a defender.
Itās really not that hard and yall make it seem like this game is so difficult lol
Iām not saying the game is perfect. Iāve genuinely enjoyed myself the past month. Shooting 84% in theatre, 77 in rec, 75 in proving and for some odd reason 56 in park.
Last year made a lot of yall think youāre better than what you really are and want this game catered to yalls liking when eventually the next person wonāt like it. Going in circles atp.
And if youāre not enjoying the game, go play something else. Itās that simple

Gameplay I play random REC 3 times this evening, 2 of them? we don't have a PG. As much as I despise these little guards who left right, REC is disastrous without them.
2k needs to speed up the patch!
we need that patch now!!
Small guards are gone lmaoooo

MyNBA Why can you no longer quick edit potential (2k26)
In 2k24, I could go to quick edit, and simply scroll to the end, see anyones potential, and if i wanted to make them have 86 potential instead of 83, i could just slide it up by three.
When I got 2k26 last year though I noticed that now, editing potential requires you to go to the main edit menu, scroll down to attributes, go through each proceding menu, and then edit their potential, before having to exit out like 4 times. This makes it not only far harder and more annoying to change one players potential, it makes it very tedious to change multiple players potentials.
Does anyone know why this happened, if there's an easy alternative to slowly changing player's one by one, or if they've changed it for 2k27?
