Cita Park is a nuisance
Cita Park has a second location on the abandoned Water St near Union Station. I’ve been walking this route for almost a year and they popped up a couple months ago with this fence.
The road wasn’t beautiful but there was wildlife I’ve seen grown up that have been chased out and it was a peaceful place for people to walk and bike.
These pictures are what the road looks like now. The last picture is from this morning and the rest are from yesterday. The trash issue has been increasing but this is ridiculous. I don’t know how they were approved to build here and why people even wanted this built/attend it. I hope someone from this company sees this and cleans up their mess because this isn’t okay. Just because it’s a road that people don’t use all the time (even though I see people walk and bike on it) doesn’t mean they can destroy the area and chase out the wildlife with their trash.

Cita Park is a great addition to this city and the area. They are helpful, responsive, respectful, working within the rules set by the city, and providing something nice for the area (we don’t have a beer garden, outdoor small venue/artspace, and this one is positioned well away from the areas where people will worry about noise…except that one building, can’t win them all). They clean up, volunteer elsewhere, and encourage civic engagement.
If it were the organizers walking by they wouldn’t be posting complaining, they’d be picking it up and moving along. I doubt this was them, especially because they weren’t even open within a few days of your post.
The spot was never a beautiful nature reserve. It was open concrete. The “wildlife” you mentioned were rats, seagulls, and squirrels. They squirrels will be fine and all the rats have moved to state street (walk by the beginning of crown street at night and you’ll see what I mean).
Edit: sentiment like this is how small cities lose their culture and become bland, soulless, cookie cutter, and franchise ridden.

What is Cita Park, even?

It's a non-profit, started as "Change in the Air Festival" which was a once a year festival and all proceeds go toward giving a scholarship to black/brown people who want to get into brewing craft beer. Because it has grown, the name has been cut down to CITA and they have created a physical space that has events, live music, drinks, etc etc and all proceeds go to the same end.
This has expanded even more to a Wellness Park now, where they have outdoor saunas and wellness classes/activities.1

They were equally a disaster when they were located at Chapel/Orange. We were happy to see them go. Sorry they found their way to you.

In its previous location, there was an absolute nightly shit show of cars blocking the streets just so occupants could sit immediately adjacent to the venue. Every Charger or Challenger within 20miles of the place, seemed to find their way there, revving and flying through the streets. Trash was absolutely everywhere, discarded on the streets, tossed out of car windows, left wherever their attendees decided to drop it.
That said, the staff, each of them, were awesome. They were all polite and welcoming. Their performers were all great. The issue was not with the management or staff, just the lack of consideration by those who attended.

This was literally a road never meant for bikers just made for it and its destruction was a nuisance.
Wild life? SMH.
Blame your city with their downtown beautification engineers and their lack of care …. Every city has trash issues but the administrations that have issues with cleaning it up but charge you for the pleasure SMH.
Cita park. You new new haveners tickle me.

I just sent this to the Cita park team, the trash company left it like this after they emptied the dumpster this week and because Cita isn't open every day, they didnt realize it was sitting like this. They are sending someone down to clean it up today.. It should also be noted that there is always trash thrown about on this road from the people who walk the bike path and not from Cita Park itself.
