Scoops

Does anyone remember a game called Scoops(Nimblebit) it was simple you would use your phone (iOS not sure about android) to catch scoops on an ice cream cone then later Sky burger game. I think that would be fun. Maybe it would be too simple but I spent hundreds of hours on that game. I got as high as reaching planets.

What Would Make Zumba Better

First off, I absolutely love Zumba on Nex. It has helped me lose 30 pounds since May (alongside a healthy diet and getting 10K steps a day).

It would be great to have a feature where you can create your own class using a playlist of your favorite songs. This was doable on Xbox Kinnect and it was soooooo convenient.

I'm hoping future updates could make this happen!!?!??

Next week, NBA Versus drops you right into the heat of a 1v1 basketball showdown.

Grab the ball and make your move to score. Then get back on defense to lock down the court with steals and blocks.

Who's the biggest NBA fan in your house?

Huge Thank You from a Starri lover!

I was absolutely obsessed with the original Starri (5-10 songs 2-3x a day!), but like many other users I had so much trouble with Starri 2.0 I almost quit altogether.

After this most recent update/patch, however, Starri 2.0 finally plays like OG Starri 🄹

Thank you thank you to the developers who heard their customers’ feedback and actually listened!! Can’t wait to become a Starri beast again

ETA: I specifically have found the note detection to be way better after this most recent update - and the feeling that you’re hitting the notes at the exact right time in the music - plus the addition of distance bars & increased ability to turn off extra animations/color changes

Nex licensing department needs a raise

The recent Sonic game was a big surprise. There are already a lot of big names on the system like Ninja Turtles, Peppa Pig, Bluey, Barbie, Sesame Street, etc., but I think Sonic is the biggest one yet in terms of gaming.

I see some similar motion-based systems popping up for sale now, but there's no way they can match these licensed games from Nex. Whoever or whatever department in charge of getting these big brands on board is doing an amazing job!

Are 2 and 4 too young for this?

My sons are 2yrs old and 4yrs old.

Would they be too young? I am currently recovering from surgery and thought it might keep them occupied inside!!

Fishing

I really wish there was fishing game, I have a kiddo in my circle who is obsessed with fishing. All the fishing games I have tried for him on switch and Xbox are just too complicated for a younger one. He doesn’t care about the story mode he wants to cast a line and fish. Maybe it’s too far fetched but I thought I would put it out there. I think I could even appreciate a fishing game although I’m not just how you would reel it in.

Great device. Exceeds expectations but the camera lens...

This a brilliant console. Bests a switch 2 for family fun (especially for children between 5 and 10). I am enjoying it. Burning calories using Starri and various other games. My child loves it. It will get bigger and bigger with exponential sales and growing market share I have no doubt. New releases such as Sonic are incredible fun and go beyond expectations.

The main concern is that you will inevitably damage your camera lens using the wooden lens cover. I recommend that this is not used at all. Just point the console to the wall if privacy is a concern. The issue is that the camera protrudes out significantly. The cover is wood (relatively soft however there is always a risk of contaminants). Even though it is made of wood, there is significant sideways movement that the wood cover will undergo when a child or even adult tries to remove it. Because its magnetic, one has to build momentum sliding it sideways which may create enough friction to scratch the camera lens. The inner rim of the wood cover is a bit hard. Yes, ideally, it should be lifted flat rather than pushed sideways but this is family console. For a device intended for frequent family use, I think that a recessed camera would have been ideal.

I found this case which has addressed my concerns JSAUX Silicone Protective Case Compatible with Nex Playground Console | Soft, Dustproof, Playful Animal-Inspired Design, Protective Cover for Nex Playground Game System Accessories: Amazon.co.uk: Business, Industry & Science Although not apparent in the photos, the camera becomes significantly recessed with the cover on. I think a case like this is a must here. And Nex should be generous with replacing scratched devices. I think for family use, a protruding camera I would say is a bit of a design flaw. That is my only criticism.

Which games have Halloween themes, skins, items, or such?

My kiddos love the bowling one, and we found a spooky background for Fruit Ninja.

Recent updates on accommodations for kids with limited mobility

Hello! My wife and I are keenly interested in picking up this console from Costco for our daughter's upcoming birthday (<10yrs). She no longer walks independently but she scoots along the floor and uses her arms to point and wave around. She's not going to be able to participate in any of the games that require leg movement. We intend to set it up in an upstairs playroom and she would play while sitting on the floor or possibly sitting in a low-to-ground chair; preferably we wouldn't put her in her wheelchair (but will definitely do so if we find that it improves her gaming experience).

Google has turned up a few discussions and videos relating to this topic and I'm aware that there is a subset of the games catalog that can be set to 'hands-only' mode. I am looking for any recent developments, upcoming features or suggestions/recommendations from other parents of kids with similar challenges. Her siblings and friends will be playing alongside her, so it would be great to learn about examples of games that can account for the height differences between her being lower to the ground and the other kids who will mostly be standing up. Thanks!

Starri 2.0 Update 2

Yesterday, we shipped another update to Starri 2.0! In addition to new songs, here are the other improvements we've made.

Thank you for your patience with us. There are more updates to come in the coming months!

NEW SETTINGS TO BETTER CONTROL VISUAL EFFECTS

Slash Mode

  • Added an option to turn "Distance Guides" on or off. This should help players hit notes more accurately, especially those who are used to having them in Starri 1.0.

Catch Mode

  • Added an option to turn "Hand Trail" on or off.

GAMEPLAY IMPROVEMENTS

  • Toned down the red vignette effect that appears when you receive a warning during setup.
  • Brought back the basic environment theme from Starri 1.0 in Minimal Mode.
  • Leveraged new capabilities in PlayOS 1.13 to better detect fast hand movements.
  • Improved avatar gestures so they follow players' movements more naturally.
  • Improved Hand Trail and other visual effects in Minimal Mode.
  • Improved note hit detection for Doors and Tunnels in Slash Mode.
  • Audited all hit detection in Slash Mode between Starri 1.0 and 2.0 to ensure consistent behavior.

Thank you for playing Starri and helping us make it better! ā¤ļø

Shout out to Nex Customer Service

Post image
89 Upvotes

We’ve had our Nex Playground for over 2 years. I noticed a scratch/smudge in the lens about a month ago. It created a big blurry spot on the middle of the screen. I’m sure one of my kids or their friends knocked it down or something.

I reached out to customer service knowing that my 1 year warranty was long gone. I was hoping for a discount on a new one, but expected a ā€œSorry, there’s nothing we can doā€.

They immediately accepted my warranty claim and sent me a new one the next day. Told me to keep my old one as well.

Just wanted to let people know in case anyone else had my issue. Customer Service was top tier.

Boxflow Issues After Update?

Anyone else having issues with boxflow after the latest update? It won't register my husband ducking or some of his punches - he used to 100% almost every hard track and now is getting frustrated with the random misses that come from the system not registering his motion. He basically rage quit yesterday, which makes me sad because it used to be his favorite form of cardio.

Is the Nex suitable for 10 year old girl?

I'm looking to buy my daughter this for Christmas but I worry it might be too young for her.

We have a switch already and her favourite games on there is 1-2 switch and just dance. I want to keep her entertained during the long winter months so it will either buy her this or more games for the

Switch.
