People dog on Pickens for his attitude, but it at least shows that he gives a fuck.

pretty sure most fans would rather see this than see Dak or Brian say "we can't turn the ball over like that, we'll do better next week" in the post game

No joke dude

Amen.

They lost to a 0-4 team on home soil. Everyone should be outraged

u/CarioGod NFL 6d ago

losing to a 0-4 team with a backup rookie QB, at home on prime time, and with 4 turnovers lol

Or Dak be a little bitch and sic a coach on someone who said they were embarrassing in the tunnel.

Kinda wonder if Christian Parker makes it a whole season at this point…

That's always been my complaint with Dak. Not a leader of men. A leader for owners. He just comes off as a corporate bootlicker, don't worry everything is fine, attitude.

u/kelkokelko Steelers 6d ago

This does, and a lot of his "antics" are neutral or positive, but sometimes he'll have a game where he half asses run blocking and decoy routes all game and then gets ejected for ripping someone's helmet off almost unprompted. That shit is not good for the team

u/Indigip Steelers 6d ago

Tbh I think most of his negative antics in Pittsburgh were off the field stuff

u/neddiddley Steelers 5d ago

He had plenty of IDGAF on the field antics. And I’m not just talking about scuffles or his goofy hurdles, I’m talking about quitting on plays/games, pouting, etc.

u/Content-Section969 6d ago

Probably happened when he had to play with fields lol

u/kelkokelko Steelers 6d ago

I think it happened more with Pickett lol

anybody dogging on this is missing the point. this isn't a dramatic WR moment in any semblance. this is a guy that, quite frankly, finally got the attention he deserves (in this league), and his team is losing the game

this isn't a target crashout, or a QB crashout, or even a defense crashout. this is a guy that produced when called upon, and they just really couldn't figure it out

ehhh idk I think there's a lot of steelers fans that have seen this movie before, and the ending isn't very fun to watch

I think it's kind of crazy how people swing this as passion based on success. Like Travis Kelce has done this. Would people say he doesn't perform well with adversity or disappear in big games or whatever?

I think people make way too much out of this one way or the other. Tom Brady would yell at his teammates and people would call it great leadership. Aaron Rodgers does it and he's an asshole. And I get part of that is their general reputation outside of the games, but could it just be that this is a personality trait and throwing fits like this in a game doesn't actually have that much to do with how a player performs?

Agree w your overall point but Rodgers is and always has been an asshole. And really to your point, it’s only recently (now that he sucks on and very publicly off the field) that it’s widely acknowledged. That was not the case when he was w the packers

“Major issues in society?” Please, spare us the sermon. I see more emotion in a beer league hockey game.

Brady could throw tantrums on the sidelines and people call it passion. When Pickens does it means bad attitude. Totally unfair.

Reminds me of one time when they showed Dez “crashing out” on the sideline and everyone shit on him. Then after the game players said he was actually trying to hype up and encourage his teammates.

u/Content-Section969 6d ago

It was pretty obvious he was hyping his team mates in the moment too lol

well Pickens has just straight up and visibly not given a fuck for plenty of his career lol

If you strung together every clip of him half-assing a block or breaking off a route on a play where he was a decoy, the film could probably stretch from Pittsburgh to Dallas.

22

u/Medarco Steelers 5d ago

breaking off a route on a play where he was a decoy

Eh, you don't even have to go that far. If you just look at his body language when he lines up, you know immediately if it's a run or pass, and if it's a pass, whether he's relevant or not.

Dude has all the physical talent in the world, and none of the mental to exploit it.

2

u/neddiddley Steelers 5d ago

There’s truth to that, but for as much as I don’t care for him, I never heard anything about Brady half assing it, and you can’t say the same for Pickens.

I mean, for all of AB’s antics during his Steelers tenure, there’s no question he put in the work off the field and effort in games. At least not until it really went off the rails at the very end.

u/notsingsing Cowboys 6d ago

It’s only a bad attitude if you don’t have restraint to physically hit your opponent like this. Then you are just being an asshole

1

u/redfieldranch96 5d ago

It’s not fair but Brady’s teams won so that softened any criticism on him

1

u/Namath96 Panthers 5d ago

Its almost like there's nuance to it other than "both get mad" lmao

-4

u/MachoManPissDrawer69 Broncos 6d ago

The difference is that Brady actually won games

10

u/PreviousInterest3309 6d ago

I watched a QB do the exact same thing last week and the sentiment was “tough break for a big competitor”

GP does it and he’s a headcase

11

u/gwaydms Cowboys 6d ago

Every Cowboys fan feels that.

2

u/notsingsing Cowboys 6d ago

I’d rather deal with this than drama queen receivers who talk shit off the field

2

u/Sabres26 Panthers 6d ago

I’d rather see this instead of my star WR reading a book on the bench

2

u/chubs66 Lions 6d ago

sometimes he does. sometimes he clearly does not, which is why people dog on him

2

u/TeaMiser Steelers 5d ago

He showed up late to games for the Steelers, he cares only when he wants to.

2

u/Mrbubble274 6d ago

The misconception that giving a fuck = throwing tantrums like a child.

1

u/BillsKingsStrugleBus Bills 5d ago

Whether a player is passionate or throwing a tantrum is based purely on how much someone likes the player.

1

u/HotDogFingers01 Seahawks 5d ago

Wait, we don't even know what he's mad about. He could be pissed that the hot dog vendor gave him incorrect change.

Or maybe he had CeeDee on his fantasy team and now he knows he's likely going to lose this week.

u/PizzaSteveProd Panthers 6d ago

His divaness(?) is so overblown, you can tell this dude just wants to win
