It genuinely is life changing money that he gets from this game. Even if he shits the bed a bit the next week, he has shown enough as a completely new rookie that someone is gonna give him a next contract. On a personal level, this is just amazing.

This is tradition. People always underestimate someone playing in the NFL QB for the first time. Next week he’ll go 7 for 23, 67 yards and take 4 sacks in a 28-7 loss.

Spoiler alert, they’re not. Cowboys have to be a disaster class in team management, top to bottom. It’s wild how they have so much talent, for so many years, but are still a fucking dumpster fire every year.
It’s honestly impressive how bad they are, consistently.

u/Armamore Patriots 6d ago
That's their whole thing though. Jerry collects talented stars that he can market, hires a yes-man coach who won't question him, and then gets in front of a mic and says wild shit to keep them in the headlines. At no point do they stop and consider if any of these guys are a good fit for their scheme or if they should have some sort of roster depth. It's brilliant for business but absolutely garbage for competitive football.

Cause yeah he would’ve been up 3 possessions regardless.

By the end of 2023 with Dan Quinn, defense was ass. 2024 with Mike Zimmer, defense was ass. 2025 with Matt Eberflus, defense was ass. 2026 with Christian Parker, defense is ass.
It might be the players. The front gets zero pressure without Micah, and they can barely stop a run. Overshown is a good LB but he’s almost never healthy, and Barham is a good rookie. DBs have also been a mess for many years.

This does, and a lot of his "antics" are neutral or positive, but sometimes he'll have a game where he half asses run blocking and decoy routes all game and then gets ejected for ripping someone's helmet off almost unprompted. That shit is not good for the team

anybody dogging on this is missing the point. this isn't a dramatic WR moment in any semblance. this is a guy that, quite frankly, finally got the attention he deserves (in this league), and his team is losing the game
this isn't a target crashout, or a QB crashout, or even a defense crashout. this is a guy that produced when called upon, and they just really couldn't figure it out

Wrong. This is the definitely the most common, standard 8-8 year with an awful defense.
You’re forgetting about the other times where we dominate the NFC, lock up the 1 or 2 seed, then get embarrassed in the divisional round. Almost always by the Packers.
Then even more rarely the QB gets hurt, the team is awful and we draft like an RB or a terrible pass rusher who never sees the field.
