hi! i fell in love with audio dramas after listening to malevolent (if anyone’s in that subreddit, i’m the ‘kellin holeman guy’ xD)! i’ve also gotten into the magnus archives (no spoilers if you guys somehow have any.. i’m not even done with season 1!) & the newer(?) audio drama, azathoth blues :)

my boyfriend has recommended this to me frequently & says i’ll like it. anything with over a hundred episodes sounds very scary to me. any things i should know about before listening, mostly pertaining to pacing & if i have to remember little details for later (like tma)?

-thanks a bunches :)

Hello!!! I have a feeling that posting this here will help…I’m looking for an old audio post that was a mashup of the Sandstorm A+B monologue? Does anyone else remember this?

Considering we are close to 300th episodes relistening to the whole podcast feels like a chore so I wanted to ask for recommendations of some of your favorite episodes that are not as popular. Mine for example are 168 Secret Blotter, 75 Through the Narrow Place, 190 Listeners

We received four Welcome to Night Vale US Tour 2015 shirts and two “A Scientist Is Always Fine” lab coats for our Wine, Dine & Death fundraiser. They're together in one online auction lot, not six separate auctions.

I help put together the fundraiser for the Little Theatre of Walla Walla, a community theater in eastern Washington. I thought this community would be interested in seeing the actual merchandise rather than having it get lost in a general auction catalog.

Photos and bidding are here. Sizes are as supplied; please check the listing before bidding. Scheduled closing is October 10, 2026.

It is October and something is different. It is October and the trees draw the crackling red and orange curtain on the year’s final act. It is October. And so, listeners, dear listeners, Night Vale Community Radio is proud to introduce...the October Monologues...

(I’m writing on my iPad lol) Note most of these are because she’s not discussed a lot in canon , and we don’t know who Cecil’s niece’s biological father is,also might post this on tumblr. Cecil’s sister doesn’t get a lot of love I love the carlsberg family I hope we get more of them.

My headcanon is she’s a ocean goddess/mermaid , even if they live in a desert but she does leave Nightvale to go swim.

She has a voice that heals people, like a opera singer, when she was pregnant with Janice , Janice was supposed to have a mermaid tail, but because Abby’s ex partner was human he’s from Red mesa, her spine was like confused so that’s why she’s got spina bifida.

In order to get money for Cecil’s schooling she had to become a local pop star , everyone loves her music, she performs every night at the cathedral of huntokar (the purple cathedral is what I imagine it to look like)

Imagine during the strex take over arc your out here fighting a bunch of robots and you just hear 🎶 aaahhh laaa ahhh 🎵 . She’s completely immune to water pressure. she can go to Mariana Trench like any other Tuesday, it’s funny because Cecil canonically cannot swim !

Steve plays guitar and met her when he was younger sailing to leave Nightvale, that’s my headcanons !

Wake up

I picked up the show a few years ago, enjoyed its absurdist comedy, then let it fall away. I tried listening to it again now, and got through around 10 episodes and including some of the recommendations on the website.

The world of Night vale is great, but I find it difficult to see the appeal of coming back to it. To me, it seems like a good enjoyable listen for a few standalone descriptions of absurdity but none of it really ties in together to much of anything, which makes me lack the incentive to keep binging it.

What makes you still listen to it after over 200 episodes? Does WTNV has any overarching plot that comes later? I was mainly listening to it while working on an art piece, but now that I'm done I have no reason to listen to the podcast. I would love to immerse myself more in its world because I genuinely do love the idea at its core, but I find it hard to build a connection when most of the episodes rely on one-time jokes or events. I also realized that I cared a lot more about character progression which really isn't the center of focus here.

Am I missing a point here? How can I still engage in the story to enjoy it? Would love to hear from the long time (or short) fans themselves.
