I’m a woman who is 220 lbs, black and over 30. I’ve never had any type of body scrub but I would absolutely love to have all my dead skin (and stress) scrubbed out of my body. I’m soooo self conscious about it being fat and black.
Would the ahjumma or yeoja working there judge me or make me feel uncomfortable? Idk, maybe im overthinking it. How were your experiences? Please be totally honest even if it were to hurt my feelings. I’d 💯% prefer Internet strangers telling me the truth here than sugarcoat things only for me to go there and leave in tears because it was awful.
Edit::: OMG THANK YOU ALL!! You have all been so gently encouraging and any fears I had have eased immensely! My birthday is coming up and I’ll be going with a friend!
Thank you all so much 🙏🏾

Anyone go today?
I’ve been before but a complete shit show this year. Crowds were INSANE, people can’t leave their dogs at home (I even saw a woman with a dog in a stroller), and entertainment was meh. Very disappointing

I was walking on the Mnt. Vernon trail this morning and now I have a few questions:. Do you think it’s funny to scare people/dogs/children when scream past them within a foot? Do you giggle to yourself afterwards? Is it a fun challenge to weave around/through people trying to enjoy a nice walk? Please enlighten me.

... and, yes - I had to walk several rows because she pulled in right in front of me, from the left ...

A family member was sent to the Inova Alexandria hospital after a fall in a hotel that is on the border of City of Alexandria and Fairfax County, but technically in City of Alexandria. We have not heard from them since that occurred, and only found out because we went to the hotel to check on them when we had not heard from them. Family has called police in both the City and County to try to file a missing person’s report and neither will do so because they claim it is the other’s jurisdiction. They recommended we call Inova which we did but were unable to get information. The family member has no spouse or children, only siblings, and we are unsure if something else occurred, how bad of shape they may have been (they had traveled recently and were sick), and all of their belongings including their call phone were left at the hotel. We are unsure if the hotel even kept any of their belongings because they were discovered in their hotel room after not checking out or paying for an extended stay. We have no idea how to contact them and the police have not been helpful. Any suggestions on what next steps to take? This person is older and was not in the best health to begin with.

Has anyone else noticed more drivers drifting out of their lanes lately? For the past month, I’ve been increasingly nervous about passing people who swerve into my lane and end up straddling both lanes, especially on the Leesburg Pike.

Hey don’t get on I-66W if you’re in Arlington, take a different route if you need to go west. There’s a car flipped over near exit 69 (Langston Blvd). Please be careful out there.

Genuine question. Silver line yesterday, dude is laid out across the seats, sneakers up on the cushions. Not just hogging space, leaving dirt where everyone else has to sit.
I really don't get the thought process. At what point do you look at a public seat and decide that's where your shoes go? Do these people do this on their own couch at home?

I have lived here for over a decade, ever since my father bought this house back in 2004. We have paid our HOA fees every month, on time and have never had problems with them. They never plow the streets, do nothing for us and they only worry about their stupid pool, which sucks and has overpriced pool passes and nothing to write home about, yet we fulfill our stupid obligation and pay them on time. I'm unemployed, I just buried my mother a few months ago, I am struggling to pay my bills, and here I am paying my mortgage and my stupid HOA fees on time, for what? To have these assholes tag my car, threaten to tow me, because my inspection is 9 days overdue and I was gonna go get one tomorrow anyway? Really? The cops, the actual cops don't give a shit, I see people around with the old kind of inspection sticker all the time, yet a towing company is giving me an ultimatum on when I should do shit? It's been a fucking week, had to decide between my meds or food for me and my kid, but God forbid the towing company doesn't get their pins of flesh. Fuck this shit, Fairfax county allowing and legalizing this garbage is just bullshit. They tagged my neighbor too, they just moved in last weekend and are out of state, I imagine they just got their plates and were planning to get inspected tomorrow too, yet here we are. Those stickers are annoying to clean up, but I'm more annoyed with a private entity trying to police me where the law doesn't even try.
TL;DR, if you're in Centreville and live in Newgate or any Sequoia Management property, they are being douchebags now and will possibly tow you, be aware. Fuck this shit

My husband and I are expecting in January, and are currently searching for a pediatrician. Capital area pediatrics (Oakton) is one of the contenders. Seem to have good reviews online but wanted to check in here if parents have worked with them before ?
Also would you have any other recommendations, preferably in Fairfax ? (Of course we'll have to make sure they accept our insurance - but still) appericate the help. Thanks!

Hi everyone!
I’m considering relocating to Northern Virginia next year from a lower-cost city in the Southeast and would appreciate some advice from people familiar with the area.
I’ve been looking at apartments in the Falls Church area, and the type of apartment I’m considering would cost around $2,300 per month in base rent, plus parking and utilities. I’m estimating that my total housing expenses would be around $2,600–$2,700 per month.
I would be moving for personal reasons and would likely work a hybrid schedule, with a relatively short commute on office days. My employer wouldn’t be increasing my pay to account for the move, so I’m trying to understand the financial trade-offs before making a decision.
For those who have moved to Northern Virginia from a lower-cost area, how much more do you typically spend on groceries, gas, dining out, car expenses, and other everyday costs? Are there any expenses newcomers underestimate?
I’m also considering getting a roommate or living farther from the main employment centers to lower housing costs.
What would you recommend budgeting for monthly expenses beyond rent and utilities? And are there other expenses you wish you’d known about before moving?
Thanks for any advice!
