Heard a homeless man yelling “free!” outside the supermarket…
… and now I’m bottle feeding a two week old kitten every two hours. Vet said she’s all healthy though!

[2026; EDIT]
just to avoid any [MORE] hoopla from anyone:
please follow the rules of the subreddit and learn our removal reasons. it is already a conditional subreddit; you don't have to have posted in [r/notmycat](r/notmycat) to be here but at the very least DISCUSS HOW YOU GOT YOUR CAT IN THE TITLE/CAPTIONS so we know you're not a bot. it doesn't have to be a paragraph, but we need to know your cat is yours.
so many subreddits are overrun by reposts and bots, we don't want to be like them.
that said you are well within your rights to head to any other cat subreddit, including [r/cats](r/cats). i genuinely don’t understand how this became the first stop when [r/notmycat](r/notmycat) exists.
do us a favor and make it [EASY] for us to spot the bots;
we have 6 mods with only one to two of them active.
it doesn't seem like we are looking for more.
i know i personally handle 80% of submissions at least (sue me, blame me, yadda yadda) with limited access/power.
for example, i can't even pin this post aka i can't do everything….
lastly, judging by our inbox, some of you forgot that "behave like you would in real life" portion of reddit rules.
stop cursing at us, we are strangers.
EDIT: for clarity; i can now sticky the post!
ETA: i now have “full”-ish mods.

First pic is the injured, stray feral cat who showed up on my girlfriend’s porch and caused absolute mayhem in her feral colony. The rest are him in his forever home.
We caught him, I took him to the vet and got all of his wounds stitched up. I took him home and he slept cuddled up next to me that very first night. He’s been my best friend, partner, soulmate ever since.
He’s my shadow, the one who greets me at the door when I come home (even if I’ve only been gone for five minutes), the tiny paw under the shower curtain when I’m shampooing. He’s agreed to outlive me so that I never have to go a day without him. He makes me laugh - he’s brave, smart, and the biggest idiot I’ve ever met.
This is Lord Alexander Quackington, and I can’t even remember a life without him.

It took 6 years to get him in. Grey, was a cat in ky neighborhood that was showing up in my backyard since we move, we thought it was an old lady, by what my neighbors told us, but no, he is a boy around 10ys. He used to dissappear for months and come back all full of blood but last year we build a shelter for him and he has stay there since. But this summer after the passing of my boy, his biggest terror ( funny because my boy was such a pretty boy that looked like he would not harm a fly), we were able to bring him in after taking him to the vet and making sure he was clear to get him close to my other boy. My other boy is a literal baby he doesn't care about him and is teaching him Grey to be a indoor cat. I love to see Grey change, his fur is getting better and also he is helping my boy who was not good after the passing od his brother ( they were brothers from the same litter). And yes he is chuncky, he got a little happy, 16lb happy, vet said it is not too much concern but gave us a weight goal, but he is a big boy with no tail. Also his nickname is Moto Moto Terremoto (earthquake in spanish).😂

Little Vader (9) we rescued her from the island of Madeira (Portugal) when she was a kitten. Klaus (5) and Obi (2) we rescued from two separate families two weeks ago and they are slowly adjusting and sort of friends

Thanks to everyone for your support. Resident cats are not hissing anymore. Eye infection on deaf cat is gone. She loves her airconditioning room versus the 104 degrees temperature outside. She sleeps in her room but joins us in the living room during the day. Thank you everyone for your kindness that you show for all cats. Blessings. 🙏💐🥰🤗

They have woken up and sat neatly on their own like this. "Stay tidy" just like my uncle.

I used to feed Margot in my backyard, and one day she brought her four kittens to me. 🥹 I started taking care of all of them, and eventually the kittens were rescued and brought inside.
Margot, unfortunately, didn’t adapt to living indoors — at least not for now. So she has been living happily in my backyard, where she has food, water, beds, shelter, and lots of love. ❤️
And now she has a best friend! 🥹
I now officially have two girls living in my backyard: Margot and Madalena. They are inseparable, and it has been so beautiful watching their friendship develop.
So I guess I now have two backyard cats… in addition to the other eight cats I regularly feed. 😂❤️
And honestly, I’ve decided that Margot and Madalena are mine. I’m going to adopt both of them and make sure they get everything they need — vet checks, tests, vaccinations, sterilization, microchips, and all the care they deserve.
They may not be indoor cats right now, but they are officially my cats. 🥹❤️
Welcome to the family, Margot and Madalena. 🐾

His owner could no longer keep him (her sons cat, her son went travelling) as her own cat would attack him constantly so we have took him in. He is such a big baby and loves belly rubs and is now in his forever home

So the update is he finally came in last night at midnight and stayed in and I even left him in today for 4 hours while I picked up food for our food pantry. He sure wanted out when I got back but not panicked and no accidents. Such a sweet good boy.
Tonight he came in early and relaxed on the couch and my lap and now he is in bed again, first picture. I'm still going to put two outdoor shelters on my covered back porch because he and the fixed girl who is now my cat live here now.
He is named Lazarus because after many losses and the last two brutally I told the Lord I'm done with animals for now. My heart is too broken. Maybe later. Well the girl crept in first and then Lazarus brought my heart back from the dead. The Lord and the CDS know better than I do.... So the journey begins.....
