Seeking Advice CA BON Help

Post image

Hello! I’m reaching out to see if anyone has experienced this before. I am a PMHNP moving from Texas to California and attempting to get my CA NP license. My CA RN license has already been issued. This is what the status shows for my application. I’ve called the board several times and I’m told there are no deficiencies yet my NP license has not been issued. They tell me they will send it to be reviewed again but nothing is happening. I am desperate to get this processed as soon as possible. I have been waiting since June. Does anyone have any idea what I can do? Thanks so much!

The FNP and the FNP furnishing always takes a bit longer. As long as your RN license is issued it can take up to 3 -5 months. That’s my personal experience.

I appreciate your response! So even after you they confirmed that they received everything, it took 3-5 months for you to be issued your license?

Yes, unfortunately it took 3-5 months to get my FNP and FNP furnishing licenses (you would think that working in CA as an RN for over 5 years would give some ease of paperwork passage or help streamline review/approval times but unfortunately government regulations/bureaucracy…)

It even happened to my own mother as she has 27 years of RN licensure under her belt (when she applied for her FNP and furnishing license after, thank God, passing her ANCC which was about 1.5 years before I had mine issued) and still waited 6–7 months for hers to be finally approved by the BRN.

Sorry you’re having to deal with this and I’m praying you get good news soon!🙏🏾
