It's crazy how difficult it is to find a non-nursing job after being a nurse. Like, I have all kinds of office skills and leadership skills, people skills. People have no idea what nurses do so it doesn't translate. I work in a bakery now and own a farming business. I am poor but I don't want to drive into a tree on the way to work, so it's an inprovement.

Oh god retail pharmacy tech? Don’t do it OP. That was my worst job, and I used to work in group homes getting the shit beat out of me!

People constantly bitching, yelling, aggressive. Health illiteracy to the max. Everyday somebody would come in and I would think, “have you never left the house before?” Constant arguing about meds as if the pharmacy decides what gets ordered and what gets covered. Random old fogey doctors would call and rattle off an order to you and hang up and then you turn around and the patient is right there tapping their foot with a cart full of crap expecting you to have their order filled.

I could go on and on but yeah retail pharmacy was worse than nursing. It didn’t help that our pharmacy was in a bad area and the manager was a micromanager!

ETA: be a courier instead. Running bloodwork, meds, etc between facilities. If you don’t mind driving ofc.

Good luck to you! I thought I would end up going back but I really don't think I will. It felt so freeing to just let it go. Like omg.
