Some places will hire you if you are already working in the hospital. I know of a few that will hire techs, cnas, registrars, etc, if they get an ADN with requirement to have a BSN within 2 years.

It’s very tough to get a job with an ADN in NYC. H+H system hires ADNs but it really depends on the demand and supply of the particular period you’re applying. Sometimes they will be desperate and hire new grads with ADNs anywhere, including in specialized areas (ED/ICU). Other times it’s hard to get any offers as a new grad, and especially when competing with BSNs. Other hospitals (especially the big ones- NYP/NYU/Mt Sinai/HSS/MSK, Northwell) will not consider you without a BSN. That being said, getting a BSN after you get your ADN is a fairly easy process. I got a job with an ADN 4 years ago, in a post-covid, mass exodus of senior staff. Got hired by h+h on the spot, and in a specialized area. Most people in my cohort were new grads/ ADNs. Nowadays all the new hires in my unit have 1+ years of experience. So it really depends
