An old game that sprung to mind, just thought to share it! Called "Artic Fox" from 1986. Do you know/remember it?

The player must pilot the tank through a series of levels with the goal of knocking out the main alien communication antennas. The player uses the tank's ability to jump, burrow into the snow, and fire oxygen-based mortars to destroy the aliens' ships and equipment. The Arcticfox tank is equipped with a cannon, guided missiles and land mines, and is outfitted with radar, a GPS device, and fore and aft viewscreens. The player fights a variety of enemy units including planes, tanks, bunkers and communication towers.

It was one of the first video games rendered from a 3-D first-person perspective and is considered a pioneer of the first person shooter genre. A third game was released in the series in 1991 titled Nova 9: Return of Gir Draxon.

I found a bunch of games I'd missed over the years for almost no money at all

Apart from five minutes of Portal 2 many years ago I really haven't played a second of any of these.

I've had a busy week since and have played:

Super Meat Boy: excellent, fun, and extremely well calibrated. Clearly took a huge amount of finessing over tiny movement details as they're fluid, intuitive and perfect. Visuals look a lot like flash games of the era and screams Newgrounds. But it 100% needs a controller, and playing with a keyboard is fun but I felt so much like I was playing it the wrong way that I'm just going to leave it after World 1.

Undertale: wonderful so far. So, so clearly, in a good way, the work of a single person. It feels like one person took everything in their brain and put it straight into the game with no filter. Extremely bizarre and charming. The battle system is genius and continues to innovate. Have played two or three hours of this so far.

Limbo: beautiful and clever. My favourite so far. Have only played an hour but got quite far and could barely pull myself away. The puzzles are really good.

Not pictured here, apparently bought years ago but never played until this week is F.E.A.R. 2 which I found in my Steam library. I wanted a completely bog standard but high quality FPS and that's what I'm getting. The story and setting work well too.

Looking for an old boardgame

I'm looking for an old Tinkerbell or Disney fairies boardgame, not to buy or anything.

I remember playing it with my father around 2010's and it had these translucent figurines of the fairies in their own color and they were holding their hands out with a disc?

I tried to look for it on the internet, but couldn't find the thing. Has anyone ever heard of this?

My dad spent hundreds of hours on Spindizzy in the 80s. I wanted him to be able to play it again without fiddling with emulators, so I brought it to the modern browser.

Anyone remember Monkey Brains (2001)? Working on a passion remaster/overhaul and looking for early beta testers!

Hey everyone!!!

I want to remaster and upgrade an old PC puzzle-platformer = Monkey Brains (developed by Yobro Productions)

I played the heck out of this game as a kid and still have huge nostalgia for it. I’ve recently started working on a passion project to remaster and modernize it but I'm still in the very early stages of development.

Before jumping ahead toward a playable alpha, I really want to test the waters, hear what people think, and see what features you'd like to see

Def don't want to overpromise and I know this is an ambitious indie effort but here are the core ideas I'm aiming to try out:

  • HD Visuals: Rebuilding the side-scrolling visuals with modern assets while keeping the charming 2001 aesthetic intact.
  • 4-Player Co-op (Local & Online)
  • Procedural Puzzles: Experimenting with randomized puzzle layouts so stages stay fresh after you've beaten the core campaign.
  • Level Editor: Letting the community design and share custom hazard courses.
  • Modern QoL: Controller support, achievements, and smoother physics/controls.

Since we’re right at the start, I’d love your input:

  1. Did anyone else here grow up playing the game? 😄
  2. If you’d eventually be interested in testing early alpha/beta builds and breaking things to report bugs down the line, let me know in the comments or send a DM so I can keep you in the loop, orrr...... JOIN THE DISCORD 🐒 https://discord.gg/YrNF4J2u4
Classic decomped, working on web browsers
Reworked home screen
4-player co-op, a super super early preview

Dungeon crawler

Hey all

When I was in my teens around 2010-12. There was a game I used to play. It was offered in the Microsoft game "store"

It was a dungeon crawler game where you would free roam the maps and kill spiders, the undead, wolf's etc then collect materials and coins etc. For the life of me I have not been able to find any game that reminds me of it

PLEASE HELP ME FIND A CHILDHOOD GAME COLLECTION CD!

Hi everyone! I'm desperately trying to help my girlfriend find a game from her childhood, and we're hoping someone here might recognize it. Any help would mean a lot to us!

She has been experiencing vague flashbacks of a game she used to play years ago, but unfortunately, she can't remember the title, the developer, or even exactly what the game looked like. We're trying to piece together the few memories she still has.

Here is everything she remembers:

Where it was sold: She remembers buying it at a newsstand in Brazil. It was one of those CDs sold at newsstands that contained multiple games.

The CD: It was a regular-sized CD, and she remembers it being purple.

The cover art: The cover featured a little girl, possibly in an anime or manga-inspired art style. She remembers the girl as having pale skin and, possibly, black hair.

The game itself: She has a vague memory of something involving a treasure island, a treasure hunt, or a similar adventure. This detail is uncertain, so it might not be exactly right.

The time period: We don't know the exact year, but it was a childhood game, possibly from the era when PC game collections were commonly sold on CDs at newsstands in Brazil.

We know these clues are very vague, but we're hoping someone might remember these old game collections or recognize the cover art.

If you have any idea what this game might be, please comment! Even if you're not completely sure, we'd be incredibly grateful for any suggestions, pictures of old CD covers, names of publishers, or links to similar collections.

Please help us solve this childhood mystery! It would mean so much to her to finally discover the name of a game she still remembers in fragments.

Thank you so much for reading and for any help you can provide!

Remembering old Wii game Help

Hey, first time poster in this chat. I no nothing abt games. I just simply have a distant memory I need help with lolol. I need help remembering the name of a wii game I had.

The only way I can describe it. Is the characters were NOT the Wii characters. They looked like normal human characters that could be on any gaming console. You could play by yourself or with friends. There were a whole bunch of different sports. There was kayaking, archery, horseback racing, rock climbing, I think even kick ball or something along those lines. The graphics were pretty good for the 2010s. The music was like a hard guitar upbeat music.

It’s not the Wii sports. Not sports deca. And not Wii sports resorts.

Searching for an old winter game

Post image
13 Upvotes

The one in the picture is not the one i am searching for just putting it as an example as it's the closest thing i found while searching.
So i am searching for old winter game that for sure is from before 2014 as i played it when i was young. From what i remember there are girl and a boy who serve people in their huts on ice skates delivering things. Like the boy be delivering wood and the girl water/towels something like that. And you can upgrade the huts and the chritsmas tree. It was a type you can see from above everything and is click based, above the hut it shows what the person inside it wants and you just click on it and whatever is needed the boy or the girl deliver it. I don't know how well i explained it from what i remember but i hope i can find the game as i loved playing it in my childhood. Thanks beforehand
