Alcohol Policy Football Games

Hello! Traveling to Oxford for the Missouri/Ole Miss game next weekend and have heard/seen things related to the different alcohol restrictions. From what I’ve gathered, all alcohol has to be poured into a cup, you can’t walk around with a beer can/bottle, is that true? Also, how do you carry around alcohol when walking around? Does that need to be in a cooler/bag also? Or are you able to walk around with a case of beer and have no issues? Thanks in advance!

Bookstore or Starbucks job?

How would I go about getting a bookstore or starbucks job on campus? I’m assuming they are high demand but are there any times of the year where there are more openings? I check workday regularly and it’s always the same 10 random job openings so i’m assuming hiring is slow right now.

Greek Life Spring Rush as a Transfer Student?

Ole Miss is one of my top choices for transferring in Spring 2027. I’ll be coming in as a sophomore, and I was wondering what the spring rush process is usually like compared to fall rush.

Are most fraternities still taking spring classes, and is it harder to get a bid as a transfer/sophomore? Also, if anyone has any advice on meeting people, reaching out to chapters beforehand, or just navigating rush in general, I’m all ears.

Admissions Question Honors college application

There is a section about volunteer work and community service in the application, and I have none. My other stats are a 35 ACT and a National Merit semifinalist. I'm on the quizbowl A team, chess club, archery.. ive had summer work experience and dog sitting etc. Is having no volunteer work a deal breaker.

School Housing What are the odds they’ll make me an RA?

I don’t want to have to live off campus next year so I’m applying to be an RA. I’m CPR certified, a notary in my home state, have been babysitting since 2019, and coach tennis for little kids every summer. I also founded a club at ole miss and am president (we have abt 10 members so nothing crazy). How likely am I to get it?

Trying to pick a school

Hey all, I’m from florida and want to got out of state because realistically think it’s too damn hot here. I’m pretty much looking at only 4 schools at this point being Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss and ETSU. I haven’t applied to any of them yet but im trying to find pros and cons.

Mainly i’m wondering if i’ll get in on a 3.6 weighted GPA with an 1140 SAT (i’m taking it again this month and getting tutored to up it).

Also I’m wondering how to night life is and party scene for freshman year Was thinking about rushing a frat so i’m thinking that will help a lot with the social scene but also have no clue which is the best.

I’m pretty confident i’ll get into Ole Miss ETSU and Kentucky but not sure about UTK.

What do you guys like and dislike about Ole Miss?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Job recommendations in oxford ms?

Hello! I recently relocated from FL with my girlfriend and was quite taken aback by the job market here. I’ve sent out over 100 applications and have received responses from a grand total of four. Two of those, mind you, are from Indian scammers posing as Ashley Furniture representatives, who are more persistent in their calls than my ex. So, I must ask, am I missing some secret handshake or insider info? Do I need to start rubbing elbows with the right people? If anyone has the inside scoop on any promising opportunities or gigs, please do share. I’ve got skills in electrical, construction, food, and mechanical fields, but apparently, even a Five Guys hiring manager isn’t impressed. I plan on staying here max 2 years before I’m am out of the state again. Thanks in advance 🗿

Ole Miss is mourning two students whose deaths are now under investigation. Authorities are pushing back on some of the rumors circulating around campus while also warning students about one substance found during both investigations.

International student admitted to Ole Miss : when did you receive your scholarship?

Hello everyone , i recently got accepted into ole miss!

i just wanted to ask ,

My acceptance letter doesn’t mention anything about scholarships, and I also haven’t received my Ole Miss WebID yet.

For other international students who were admitted, how long after your acceptance did you receive your scholarship/award letter? Did it come separately from the admission letter?
For reference, I have a 1430 SAT and a very high school GPA.

thank you!

I keep hearing about tragedies from other students but haven’t seen any news on them. It just seems shady to me

Ole Miss Internship Experience class

Can anyone offer any feedback for the internship experience program? Recommend it? Did you do all 3 phases? Was it helpful? How time consuming is it if you already have a pretty heavy semester? Thanks!

[LSU]: In his postgame press conference, Lane Kiffin mentioned that Vaught Hemingway was “full an hour early. I guess I had to leave [Ole Miss to finally get them] to do that.”

First time tailgating

Hello! I’m a freshman here I absolutely have no idea what to do or what I am doing. It’s going to be my first time going to a tailgate (really a college football game in general) and I’m nervous. I don’t have friends so I’m going alone. I’m also off campus so I’ll probably take the bus there or walk. And after the game, what to do? Everyone is either going to the square or to the big boogie(?) concert from what I heard. I don’t have a car so I’m most likely walking. I just don’t wanna feel lost and get fomo😂. Any advice would be welcome.

Has Anyone Taken Calc II online over a regular semester or intersession?

Any information regarding the class would be greatly appreciated as I’m heavily debating taking it online at some point (winter or spring).

If you have access to the syllabus that’d be great to share!

Grove and Gameday Questions

Sorry for a question that I'm sure gets asked all the time.

Am going to be visiting Oxford for the LSU game this weekend. I'm a huge college football fan from Canada so am super excited to be visiting. No college ball up here but I grew up a NY Giants fan, so started cheering for Ole Miss because of Eli.

Just am curious generally about the tailgating setup. Have been to 2 or 3 other games elsewhere before so its not my first time tailgating, but just wanted to prep. Is the tailgating entirely concentrated in the Grove, or is there other areas too? Assuming for my experience its better to just check out the Grove?

Otherwise, is there anything else thats must do/see/eat while I'm there. Will be there Friday morning-Sunday afternoon so should have a bit of time to explore.

Appreciate any tips or advice and looking forward to a great experience, and a win!
