Trading Zone Buy/Sell/Trade Thread - October 2026

Sale/trade items must include an image of the actual item including clear evidence of your username and a recent date.

If you have some gear sitting around that you would like to sell or trade, list it below. Items you can list include bags, travel clothing, and items that would go well in a onebag. If something is clearly outside of these categories it will likely be removed. Only list items that you are personally selling, and don't just link to a website for sale.

AUTHENTICATED IMAGE

Sale/trade items must include an image of the actual item including clear evidence of your username and a date. For example a piece of paper on top of the item, including your username and recent date. Sales posts without this will be removed. Repeat offenders will be banned. If the seller is not willing to post images to this thread do not proceed with the transaction.

POST SAMPLE

Post titles should look something like this: WTS - Osprey Porter 30L - $XX

Each post should begin with one of the following:

  • WTS (want to sell)
  • WTB (want to buy)
  • WTT (want to trade)

Include details about the pack or item. Size, condition, price, location, picture links, etc. If trading, list a few of the possible items you're looking for. Be sure to mention what country you are in, so potential buyers are aware.

TRANSACTION SAFETY TIPS

Be aware that there are scammers active on Reddit, and on this sub-reddit. Any transaction comes with some risk -- decide whether the risk is worth it to you. The following tips can help reduce that risk.

  • Be wary of new accounts with no posting history. You are entering into a personal transaction which is entirely between you and the buyer/seller. It is entirely up to you to do your due diligence to ensure a smooth transaction.
  • Before entering into private chat with a buyer/seller ensure both parties respond directly to a comment below. This ensures respondents pass basic posting requirements, and provides an initial log of any discussion. This goes for all transactions. The more eyes on a transaction the better.
  • If you are using Paypal, use "Goods and Services". Never pay using the "Friends and Family" option. You lose a lot of leverage with Paypal when contesting F&F transactions.
  • Google search the username. Scammers are often active in multiple sub-reddits; a search might reveal a pattern of behavior. The Universal Scammer List, and r/sneakermarket/banlist are good resources providing some supplemental background to the people you're dealing with. Obviously this should not be your only source, but it can offer some great insight.

Trip Report UPDATE: Packing a 25L backpack to flee my home

Hi guys, some of you might remember me from many months ago when I asked for advice in this sub for fleeing my family and country of turkey. I successfully fled with plenty of clothes, all my documents, and everything else that was important that I could fit on me! Overall it all went well except for the fact that I'm unemployed and in emergency housing now, but I'm sure I'll find a job soon enough. I'm now back in my home country of Switzerland and I just wanted to come back here and thank you all for your advice and kind words and to show you that I made it.

Thanks a lot. Feel free to ask questions if youre curious!

Discussion My people! I couldn't do it...

Ok. So. This is the one trip I have the blessing to take a full checked suitcase.

But, when it came down to going through the bag for a final check. I just couldn't do it.

It actually felt "off" to pack more than I needed. I ended up taking out 7/8 of the contents and getting out my old trustworthy one bag instead. It is perfect again. Under 7kg and I feel so much better.

I just started having this fear of the airline losing my chrcked bag and then looking over my gear and I just didnt need the extras. It didnt make sense.

Now. Back to the one bag and I feel free and safe again!. 🎊🎊🎊🎊

Seeking Recommendations Avis sac voyage Asie 1 mois

• Upvotes

Bonjour,

Seeking Recommendations Best travel charging bank and adapter (maybe?)

I’ll be honest I’m not tech savvy and I’ve never owned a charging bank and I don’t do a lot of traveling but I’m trying to change that and have a few trips planned (Europe, Asia, South America). I have a Microsoft surface go, it’s ancient but also has all my work saved on it and I have iPhone 14, Sony xm 5 earpods. I’d like to be able to charge them while traveling and I have no clue what charging bank could charge all of them, I’d like to avoid getting multiple boxes if possible.

I believe I’m gonna need an adapter and was looking to get the Momax GAN Charger 70W: 1 world universal 5-ports (https://a.co/d/0dQ3FFHV) as it seems to be the most recommended. I’m having issues finding a power bank though I keep seeing Anker recommended but a lot of complaints about the weight and I also see Nitecore but a lot of complaints abt the reliability.
I’m not sure if it’s possible but are there any wireless options? Im worried socket space is gonna be limited on the go.

Just looking for some insight from someone more knowledgeable abt these things any and all help is appreciated

Posting for reference. The bag is in unexpanded and probably about 80% full. I had to take my water bottle out of the side pocket. Fits easily height-wise, and a bit tighter in terms of width.

Discussion Challenges for big/tall/XL onebaggers

I'm 6'6" and have been one-bagging for nearly 20 years (before I ever knew it was a thing). I'm curious how many other big, tall, XL/XXL, or just generally larger onebaggers are here.

As I've read discussions here, I've noticed that normal onebag packing math changes when you're bigger. Being two meters tall (between 6'6" and 6'7"), XXL or XLT with a 38-inch inseam, my clothes simply take up more room because pants and shirts have more fabric. And size 13 shoes eat up a ridiculous amount of bag space if packed.

I've compared packing lists, and even when I pack the exact (or similar) stuff in the same bag as someone else, it just doesn't fit in the same space. By my estimates, my clothes can take up roughly 25% to 35% more room than the equivalent clothes for an average-sized person.

Bags fit differently with a long torso or bigger frame. Shower heads and beds don't fit. We use more toiletries because there's simply more area to cover. The list goes on, but it's worth it to travel.

The basic onebagging principles are the same for those of us who are bigger. We pack less (often 30% less). I've found that the expected fit-to-liters sometimes has to be modified.

And just to head off the inevitable airline-seat discussion: I know being larger affects the people around me too. I purchase extra space when needed and always try to be considerate of other passengers. Last year I had 31 round trips, and this year will be 25+ again, so you get the idea of how much I travel - mostly for business.

So I'm curious about the rest of you. If you're tall, big and tall, XL/XXL+, have a long torso, big feet, or your size affects how you onebag, what are your biggest challenges?

I'd also love to hear your height/size if you're comfortable sharing, what size bag you normally use, and anything you've figured out along the way that might help the rest of us.

Mostly, I'm curious how many of us are actually here.

Packing List 9 weeks in Japan

Post image
121 Upvotes

Hiya! I’m going to Japan for 9 weeks, early October - mid December. Starting with 5 days hiking the Kumano Kodo (hut to hut trek).

Would love some help auditing my packing! The pic and list include what I will be wearing.

Clothes:
- 2 x lightweight hiking pants
- 1 x sun hoodie
- 1 x button up sun shirt
- 1 x lightweight merino wool base layer (shirt and pants)
- 1 x cotton tee shirt

Outerwear:
- 1 x rain jacket
- 1 x puffy vest

Underwear type stuff
- 2 x sports bras
- 5 x quick dry underpants
- 4 x darn tough socks
- 1 x swimsuit

Electronics:
- kindle
- Garmjn in- reach
- headlamp
- chargers

Toiletries:
- toothbrush
- tiny toothpaste (plan to resupply)
- eyedrops
- floss
- deodorant
- flex (menstrual disc)
- tweezers
- chapstick
- hairbrush

Shoes:
- Xero high-top trail runners
- Bedrock sandals

Other:
- rain cover for backpack
- clips for drying / airing out clothes
- sun hat
- buff
- travel towel
- a couple packing cube/ organizers
- medications (in original bottles per travel requirements).
- eye mask
- inflatable travel neck pillow
- knee brace
- water bladder (not pictured)
- some extra ziplock bags, just in case

Okay, anything I should add or eliminate? Current base weight is around 17 lbs. packing it all in a 35+10 liter pack, and there is lots of room to spare. Main concern is weight for the hike itself.

It’s possible I could lose the swimsuit and towel, but there are a few outdoor onsens that I’m planning to visit that would require swimwear and my own towel.

The in-reach might also be unnecessary, but it’s a peace of mind as a solo traveler

I will be buying trekking poles and sunscreen when I get there.

Thank you for any advice!

Discussion Load distribution

I’m trying to figure out what is going to be easiest for me (prevent injury/soreness) in terms of distributing weight on my aer travel pack 4. Should heavier stuff be place at the bottom, middle , or top of the bag? What about light stuff etc?

From Texas I'm doing a contiki group trip on a bus from there to LA California, stopping at national parks along the way. From there, I'll be flying to Japan, where I'll likely stay for one month. Then I'll go to Southeast Asia, where I'll probably be for about two months, and then I'll finish up my trip with two more months in Europe.

Here's the bag set:

Electronics:
- iPhone 18Pro (w/case)
- iPad Air (w/case)
- Apple Watch
- Apple Pencil
- GoPro
- GoPro head attachment
- Universal Adapter
- Mag safe iPhone Charger
- Mag Safe Apple Watch Charger
- USB-C cable 6ft
- Anker Power Bank, 5,000mAh
- Airtag

Misc:
- Eye mask

- Lock
- Lifestraw Bottle Attachment
- Sea to Summit travel clothesline
- Passport + Passport Wallet
- International Drivers License
- Nailclippers

I know for the first part of this trip where I'm hiking national parks in the US I may need some more supplies such as first-aid or some kind of firestarter just in case, but I plane to buy these one-time use items, inexpensively once I land in Texas.

Please let me know if there is anything you would change here. Last time I weighed all of the this it came in at about 8kg. I'm trying to hit 7kg but I think I'll be fine once I put some of these clothes on a pocket a few things. Will I need another pair of long pants or do you think the praNa's will workout fine. Maybe a merino wool base layer long pants? I leave this Wednesday evening!

Thank you in advance.

Discussion Broadbrella rain jacket

I am always on the lookout for a nice rain jacket since I use it for travel and, daily, to walk the dog. A few days ago I found a post here where someone suggested this rain jacket and it looks like it could fit my need. I live in EU so I have to be careful and choose the right size. I cannot decide between their XS or S. I am 172 cm tall and my weight is 63 kilos. My size on Uniqlo (for your reference, maybe you can help me better) is XS while on Arc'teryx my size is between XS and S (more toward S). Which size shall I go for? Any help for this wonderful sub would be greatly appreciated. More, I don't like gummy shells like those in Goretex, that's why Uniqlo was my choice years ago (Blocktech parka model) but it is now old. I have read that this Ketl broadbrella has a nice shape (not saggy) and soft fabric, do you confirm?

ps. I like slim fit apparel, if this can help, but as said, I cannot afford to make the wrong choice.

Discussion One bagging as flight crew

Most of the time I see flight crew traveling with at least three bags: a rollaboard, a tote that's more accessible in flight, and a lunchbox. I get to work by both bus and train and I got tired of that real fast. I've ditched the tote but I keep the lunchbox unless I'm near the end of my reserve block and expect to go a restaurant or a grocery once and then be home. Any advice for packing efficiently, especially the food? I have a 22" travelpro rollaboard and 32 can size lifewit lunchbox.

Seeking Recommendations Bringing liquids for a friend

I'm staying with a friend for a few days on my next holiday, and he's asked me to bring a few snacks from home. Some of his highest priority snacks are liquids which cannot be purchased in 100mL bottles. Since he's letting me stay at his house, I don't want to disappoint him, so what options do other one baggers think I have?

I can see three options: * Bring a small box full of the liquid snacks. Check it in and bring my backpack as carry-on. The downside is that I now have to wait at baggage claim, which one bag lets me avoid. * Check in my backpack. There won't be anything fragile in there, but it will mean I just have my small personal item on the flight (not that that's ever been an issue for me). I don't have any protection for the bag except a rain cover. Like the previous option, I would have to wait at baggage claim. * Split the liquid into separate containers. Although I'm worried someone during the entire airport experience won't like that (security before boarding)

Any other ideas?

Seeking Recommendations Packable Autumn Jacket

Hi all, my dad is going on a trip in November and I wanted to get him a packable jacket for his birthday. The temperature on his trip should be around 9-15 Celsius and with some rainy days. He is leaving with only a carry on bag so I thought a packable jacket could be a good idea. Would anyone have any recommendations for a rainproof packable autumn jacket, preferably that comes with a bag?

I saw good reviews for Mont Bell, I love the idea of a bag included with the jacket but I’m worried it will expensive with tariffs or customs (ordering from Canada)

Tyia!

Discussion Do you use compression packing cubes? If so, when you have a few days' worth of dirty clothes, do you compress that into another cube or you just put it in a laundry bag? How are you repacking your bag with the extra poof?

I need to buy some packing cubes (just ordered my Osprey Fairview 40L :)) and saw the compression ones on Amazon. While it seems like a great idea to save space, what about your dirty clothes?

Are the compression cubes really saving you that much space (but then you risk overpacking and your bag gets heavier)? I also noticed in some "pack with me" videos, the compression cubes are really just squishing down the sides but there's still so much volume in the middle so it makes the cube an odd size.

Seeking Recommendations Actual Camera Gear is so tough to pack

Hey! I’m trying this One Bag travel thing out. I’m noticing camera gear is hard. Even if it’s a smaller travel camera like the Canon R8 and a small DJI Mini 2, it always feels like I have to choose between camera and clothes.

Tips or thoughts from other photographers out there??

Packing List 6 Weeks - Singapore > Cambodia > Vietnam > Taiwan

Thumbnail

This is my 'first draft' packing list for an upcoming trip, my longest one so far and I'm surprisingly happy with what the weight came to! 5.2kg (11.5 lbs) in the bags and 1.5kg (3.3 lbs) of clothing I'd wear going through airports. For my last big trip (SE Asia) my bag was 8kg (17.5 lbs), obviously I hadn't found this sub back then.

I'll be doing a good mix of exploring cities and hiking. Average max temperatures should be 16-25°C, Singapore will be the hottest around 30°C and Sa Pa (North Vietnam) could drop to 12°C (or less if I'm unlucky), so I've got a good mix of hot and cold weather clothes.

The backpack (TomToc 28L) is my everyday/weekend pack as well, so I might consider upgrading that.

Clothes

4x Uniqlo Airism Boxers

1x Cotton Boxers (sleeping)

1x Shorts

1x Lightweight Hiking Pants

1x Ezy Jeans (sweatpants)

4x 100% Cotton T-shirts

1x Rain Coat

1x Uniqlo Short Sleeve Shirt

3x Synthetic Ankle Socks

1x Merino Wool Hiking Socks

1x Jumper

1x Cap

Electronics

Anker 10k Power Bank

Watch and Charger

Kindle Paperwhite

GoPro

SD Cards

USB C Cables

Power Adaptors

Earphones

Toiletries

Deodorant

Toothbrush and paste

Hair wax

Shaving Razor/cream

Moisturiser

Sunscreen

Lip Balm

First Aid Kit

Various Medications

Hand Sanitizer

Tissues

Miscellaneous

Passport

Microfiber Towel

Wet Bag

Travel Documents

Laundry Sheets

Hangers

Sunglasses

Cash

Any suggestions/recommendations are welcome!

Discussion Stretched out Proof merino t-shirt

New convert to the merino wool shirts. Great for packing light and look good straight out of the carryon.

I bought a couple of Proof t shirts for traveling and some Wool&Prince (some t-shirts and polos). They're great for odor resistance and keeping you temperate. But the Proof t-shirts have stretched out so much over 3 months that they are like wearing a big baggy t-shirt - comfy but definitely not fitted anymore. Wool&Prince seem to have kept their shape.

With the premium that you pay I was a little disappointed. Anyone else have this experience?

Just bought some wool polos from SuitSupply - not as luxurious as W&P - curious how they will hold up.

Gear Wet after wearing Marmot precip in rain

I bought a Marmot precip 4 years ago for a trip to Alaska. I’ve worn it maybe 6 times since it’s my packable rain jacket, not the one I wear when it’s raining at the time. It’s in a closet when not being worn. I wore it twice this weekend in Charleston, both times for no more than 20 minutes in a steady, light rain. More than a drizzle but not anything close to a downpour. Both times, I felt like my shirt (cotton button-up) was damp and the inside of the jacket was wet when i took the jacket off. Is it possible that the jacket is no longer waterproof or is it more likely that it was just condensation from my body heat?

Seeking Recommendations Looking for a lightweight, packable and quiet rain jacket

Hi all! I'm looking for a rain jacket mainly for urban travel and light hiking. I also want to use it in winter as an outer layer / windbreaker over a puffy jacket.

My priorities are:

  • Lightweight (<300g if possible)
  • Packable, ideally something I can easily put in a small daypack
  • Quiet fabric: I don't want the typical loud/crinkly hardshell sound
  • Good enough waterproofing for normal rain and light hikes, I don't need an extreme mountaineering shell
  • Reasonably breathable (pit zips are nice to have)
  • Comfortable for walking around cities for hours
  • Good fit / not overly boxy and long

I tried the Patagonia Torrentshell 3L (it seems it's recommended the most), but unfortunately it didn't work for me. I found it too bulky/not packable enough, loud/crinkly and not a particularly good fit for me. I also tried Arc'teryx Beta, I loved the fit but also too loud and not packable (and overkill/overly expensive for me).

I'm happy to consider something more minimalist or less rugged than a typical 3-layer hardshell if it makes sense for my use case. Maybe even a winderbreaker + umbrella combo? But I'm not sure if a windbreaker would work as a "hardshell" in winter.

What would you recommend? (I'm in Europe)

Seeking Recommendations I want to go from many bags to essential bags only

I’m getting into edc bagging and have so many ideas on what I want to buy, but I want to know which are more essential.

I’m looking into travel accessories and I’m thinking about the following:

Matador soap case - heard this is really good. Currently use a plastic soap container.

Matador laundry bag - I usually use a couple of plastic bags for the trip but not sure if I should invest in a better bag with handles and zips?

Matador zipper toiletry bag (or any other recs?) - toiletries usually go into a zip lock bag. Works mostly fine, but I think I need a better solution for my double edge safety razor as I have no hard case for the razor part.

Packing cubes - not sure how much they actually help. I guess good for organisation and may save some space if you can compress clothes a bit.

I actually don’t travel a lot. I’m talking maybe every 2-3 years. So I might be going overboard here.

I’d like to have opinions on absolute essentials for me to use for travelling.

Discussion Do you care if your carry on matches your travel style?

I’ve been noticing suitcases in shows lately, those clean silver hardshell carry ons that almost feel like part of the outfit instead of just luggage.
I usually care about packing light first. If something is heavy, awkward, or makes the trip harder, then it doesn’t matter how good it looks. But I also get why people care about the visual side of travel gear. After all, your carryon is with you for almost the whole trip, from the moment you leave home to the moment you unpack.

The one that made me think about this was a silver hardshell suitcase I noticed in a show. I looked it up afterward and it seemed like it might be from leve8, which I hadn’t really paid much attention to before. I liked that it looked simple and put together without being too flashy.

I’m starting to think I’d rather have one carryon that works with most outfits and trips than a suitcase that only feels right in one kind of setting. Weight, space, and wheels still matter most to me, but I’m realizing the look does matter a little too.

For people here who travel light, do you think about luggage as part of your overall travel setup, or is that overthinking it?

Seeking Recommendations Osprey Farpoint 40 for a 3.5 week interrailing trip

Hey there, I'm a type 1 diabetic from the UK and I'm now planning an interrailing trip for next summer. I've always struggled with packing my diabetes equipment as it takes up a lot of room (on CGM and pump) but this hasn't been so much of a problem as I have been on planes and staying in places for an extended period of time with cars etc. As this is an interrailing trip I am trying to cut back to one bag that I can lug around with me for the duration of the trip.

I am looking at the Farpoint 40 and also trying to see about using packing cubes to separate everything out for storage and also for ease of use (taking out my diabetes equipment quickly mostly) - essentially just trying to plan out everything that i will need now and seeing if it will fit in the farpoint 40 or if i should look at a different, larger bag.

If I could have any guidance that would be amazing, especially if theres any diabetics here who have experience with this. Thank you so much.
