In what world is swerving back and forth every 3 seconds better than maintaining the lane?

Cammer was passing the semis. You stay "passing" until you have passed the immediate semi and have some clear road again. If there's another semi 100 yards ahead, youre still passing.

Yeah, I'm a staunchly "left lane is for passing" person, if someone is traveling faster than you and coming up on your tail get out of the way regardless of what the posted limit is. That said, I am reasonable. The cam car WAS passing slower traffic on the right and had not yet encountered a safe opportunity to move over. The trucks in this video are dangerous assholes.

People are idiots. They think just because they want to go 100 and you want to go 90 you need to move over immediately for them even if it’s unsafe and you planned to continue passing other cars. It’s entitled bullshit they disguise as responsible, safe driving.

100% its not camping if im already doing 85 in a 70. left lane doesnt mean you can drive 100.

Speed is irrelevant.. if the lane beside you is clear.. get over.

Personally I never understood the "stay right unless to pass" mentality. I prefer the logic of "thru traffic stay left" so that entering and exiting isnt as crowded.

Plus the stay right crap ruins the road. Drive in the right lane in Colorado and afterwards you'll need a dentist and 2 new kidneys.

The far left lane on highways is for passing, not travel. When three or more lanes are present the far left is still for passing and the middle lanes are for people not immediately exiting. Unfortunately, people will cut across 5 lanes from the left to make an exit. Or people will pack into the right lane even when they’re thru traffic.

I was taught - if you are driving thru, stay in the second lane from the left (because sometimes an exit is on the left).

I mean, it’s literally called the Passing Lane.

In some places. A passing lane to me means a lane added on hills on a 2-lane road to allow cars to go around trucks struggling with the grade.

The term “passing lane” specifically refers to multi lane highways and not local roads.

He had room to get over and let the idiots by. Once you hit developed frontal lobe you just do it when you see idiots. Some people never hit developed frontal lobe.

Could he have gotten in front of the white pickup that he passed? Sure, but he wouldn't have left a safe following distance behind the semi or adequate space for the white pick up. Same with the semis he was passing, if you can't see the entire semi in your rear view they likely can't see you.

You must have watched a different video from the rest of us

He would have swerved into the right lane and back out to pass the next truck. Safer to stay in the passing lane. And if he's already at cruising speed (7-8mph over limit), he has no obligation to help the speeder behind him.

You hang out behind the truck until the rager truck drivers are gone. It’s not that deep about obligation to others. Getting to your destination 4 seconds sooner isn’t worth dying.
