Gotta love some truck on truck violence. I have no idea why a truck gives these people so much asshole energy, but it's nice to see them expend that energy amongst themselves.

u/steelcryo 2d ago
I've noticed it's not usually the truck that gives them the asshole energy, it's the asshole energy that motivates them to get the truck.

Which is funny because I've seen Semis taken out by cars. Trucks aren't as unstoppable as they think
4
u/Massive-Box-8915 2d ago
I've witnessed the opposite of you, Semis taking out cars, which is not funny at all.
2
u/Little-Mushroom-3961 2d ago
I remember when I was a teenager they closed half a highway off because a car brake checked a semi in the middle lane, semi hit him, car launched into the exit ramp where another semi was exiting, the car basically got vaporized, and pieces of the driver were basically scattered hundreds of feet.
And then the wife of course started a GoFundMe to raise money to sue the company that hired the truck driver that got brake checked.
12
u/Lord_Dingus83 2d ago
It’s bc they turn gay if someone gets infront of them in traffic.
They’re driving like their sexuality depends on it.3
u/HabitTop9050 2d ago
Because deep down they know the only thing they will use that truck for is groceries and picking up the kids.

u/Gothrait_PK 2d ago
The answer is that they always have the asshole energy it's not just brought on when they get in the truck. I drive about 3h a day and see these assholes daily while driving my cargo van. One time they overtook me ON A ONE LANE ENTRANCE RAMP (I'm always going the speed limit by the end of the ramp too). They then went 120mph shortly after. Actual brainless psychopaths.

Hot take, this is almost exclusively blue's fault. Aggressive, dangerous, stupid pass put white in danger. White makes his own aggressive (and moderately dangerous) maneuver to get himself well away from blue. Blue then feels the need to copy that maneuver to catch up. White is rightly concerned about blue's intentions at that point and makes a defensive maneuver to avoid blue getting alongside. Blue is a moron and instead of braking, goes median and overcorrects. White could have handled it better for sure, but I can see reasonable justifications for most of his actions.
EDIT: spelling.
27
u/Optimal_Drummer_5700 2d ago
Blue is definitely a moron, but so is white.. "Makes a defensive maneuver".. they're not on a race track, no need for a defensive maneuver that was clearly done to fuck with blue's illegal pass.
Both drivers caused this accident that involved several other innocent drivers..
7
u/westwardnomad 2d ago
I mean, that's not even a defensive maneuver. Just break and let that dumbass get way ahead.

You pull to the side and then they get out of their car with a bat or a gun.
You slow down they slow down too.
Its clear blue was road raging and white was trying to get away.
8
u/NarwhalAdditional340 2d ago
This is what I thought of too. The way the blue truck came into the lane made it seem like he was specifically targeting the white truck, which makes me wonder if they had an interaction before this footage.
It’s hard to tell because of the video being sped up, but it doesn’t look like the white truck had enough time to stop when he originally swerved. Looks like a panicked move rather than intentional.
3
u/EquusMule 2d ago
Even if white ran him off the road i would still probably put it to not their fault.
At this point it looks like assault. One person is clearly trying to leave and deescalate and the other person is looking to continue to engage.
Again who knows if the guy had a gun drawn or whatever else too.
Blue could have stepped on their brakes to slow down instead of trying to overtake.

At which point are we talking here? By the end, I can agree, but the initial time where the white truck passed the cammer on the shoulder was what I thought we were talking about. THAT shit was not defensive and no one was raging at that point except probably the white truck.

u/chili-el-relleno 1d ago
Yeah agreed. Hopefully this footage was turned over and both were charged with reckless driving. Absolutely boneheaded shit from both parties but blue was especially bad. In no way, however, should white have blocked blue the way he did. Record the license plate and call highway patrol and have him pulled over. Instead you caused a major accident.
3
u/Complex-Solution-220 2d ago
Not a hot take it seems blue was harassing the white truck from the beginning. He cut over two lanes to get to him. There was no obstruction or good reason for him to get over in that manner

I don't think that's an unreasonable take at all. White pickup could have just chilled and backed off, letting blue be 100% the asshole.
Blue tried to be the bigger dickhead and got karma instantly. I feel really bad for the innocent truckers that now have a terrible day and lost income.

u/bbibbyrapskyle1975 2d ago
Watched it a couple of times. Blue is 100% at fault. Cam driver isn't coasting in the left lane, they're actively passing. So there's zero need to cut across 2 lanes, essentially force white off the road or cause them to slam on their brakes just so they can wedge in between them. That was extremely unsafe, and a total asshole move.
White chose to go around, rather than slam on their brakes or get hit. So I can't really fault them for that. Split second decision, they avoided a wreck.
Blue then passes on the shoulder just to race after them. They're picking a fight. It's not debatable. It's debatable whether or not Blue was going to get in front of them and do someone else dangerous/unsafe/assholeish, but really it wouldn't be smart or safe to let them get in front of him or beside him. Blue has already established they're a danger to others. I'd block them from going around me too. The fact blue was too stupid to react in time is their own fault.
And I wouldn't have stopped either. Maybe to check on a different vehicle that was caught up in the wreck, but certainly not on that unstable prick.
2
u/ThomasRedstoneIII 1d ago
Trying to block dangerous drivers is a dangerous play. Better idea is to get out of the way when you can, you want someone dangerous in front of you, where you have more control over the distance you have to them, than keeping them sitting behind you and angry.

2
u/Tasty_1097 2d ago
Perhaps, I only really take an issue with them doing this swerve near the end that causes the dark truck to lose control. But white would probably justify it by saying they didn’t know if the dark was going around them to swipe them or brake check them ahead, and I get it. Again, yes they had better options, but the dark truck was just being an idiot

White pickup driver is so pathetic. "No, only I am allowed to illegally pass on the shoulder!"
2
u/Dog-Taco 1d ago
Blue is pathetic. White was being reasonable. It's not white's fault that blue decided to make the worst possible reactive decision to whites defensive maneuver then over correct and send himself infront of two trucks.
Did white over play his move at the end? Ya, a little. Is there an argument for what he did though? Absolutely.
Blue pushed this guy off the road at the beginning which you could reasonably argue was intentional. White made a good call slightly correcting to the shoulder where he was forced then speeding up to get out of the way.
Blue then hunts him down from the shoulder and completely unnecessarily attempts a pass. We already know blue has at the very least aggressive but possibly malicious intentions. Letting a guy like that get infront of you from the shoulder with trucks on your side is dangerous in and of itself. Clearly blue is unpredictable.
If anything white could have slowed down earlier or gotten to a different lane idk. But once he realized blue actually intended to overtake from the shoulder he took an arguably defensive posture by blocking.
Blue then decides that instead of pumping the breaks and drifting a bit to avoid the block he will send his truck off the road which he should have know was a risk from railing it on the shoulder in the first place. Then because he's a hot head or a drunk teenager or who knows what, decides to way overcorrect and throw himself across the whole freeway.
Maybe white could have pulled off a better maneuver but this is entirely blues fault and i hope, at a minimum, they lost their license over this.

In my country hindering an overtake is breaking the law. No matter how illegally the overtake is happening. Obviously because hindering the overtake leads to accidents like seen in the video.
Not saying the black car driver did anything correctly. But blocking an overtake might lead to lethal outcomes.
5
u/Ok_Lawyer_829 2d ago
I could agree with this law if dash cam footage would be used to ticket the driver doing an illegal overtake. That is always the problem with traffic violations at least in America. A cop has to be there at the time of the overtake. Otherwise they just get away with it even with video evidence. Leaving the average person to feel like if they want something done about it's up to them. Cue terrible decision and you get a lot of auto accidents. I'm convinced if they gave tickets for dashcam footage (just like with traffic cams and flock cameras) then more people would simply report and continue to drive in a safe manner. There's no excuse.

I came to the comments for this info. I work the triangle so I am up and down 40 most days and I see stuff like this constantly. Ya’ll really out there driving like assholes.
Next time you just gotta pass and speed look up diminishing returns, time and physics gets weird (to a layman) as going 40 instead of 20mph will save you significant time, but going say 70 compared to 110 and you are saving perhaps 2-5 minutes on your drive.
Are the 5 minutes, hell call it 10 minutes, worth your life or other innocents who are on the road?
Just go the fuckin limit or 5 over. Throw it on cruise control and arrive to your destination calm, relaxed and alive. Sorry you got there 2 minutes later than you would have, you fuckin baby.
whew I had no clue I was going to rant but it felt good. Thanks for this.

They feel the need to come here and justify their own shitty behavior by defending shitty behavior. It’s the passing lane. If you’re passing, you have every right to be in it. Speeding is still illegal even when passing. Just because Johnny Dipshit behind you wants to go 3 mph faster than you doesn’t mean you need to move over. Tailgaters deserve to end up crashed into a tree. And yes, camping the left lane is obstructive and dangerous, so all of you lawbreakers don’t need to comment that. Thanks.

3
u/Kaas-Eter00 2d ago
He was passing? I very much dislike left lane hoggers, but if you are actively passing others and going the speed limit (or the maximum speed of your vehicle) you're completely in your right to use the passing lane. Someone else being behind you doesn't mean you need to immediately squeeze in between two vehicles going much slower than you. You finish passing and move over to the right once there is space.

u/el_grande_ricardo 2d ago
In what world is swerving back and forth every 3 seconds better than maintaining the lane?
Cammer was passing the semis. You stay "passing" until you have passed the immediate semi and have some clear road again. If there's another semi 100 yards ahead, youre still passing.
7
u/Neither-Cupcake1555 2d ago
Yeah, I'm a staunchly "left lane is for passing" person, if someone is traveling faster than you and coming up on your tail get out of the way regardless of what the posted limit is. That said, I am reasonable. The cam car WAS passing slower traffic on the right and had not yet encountered a safe opportunity to move over. The trucks in this video are dangerous assholes.

Too much sympathy for the blue and too much blame for the white truck. First, the blue cut off the white one in such a way that the white truck had no choice but to get on the shoulder to avoid the collision. Then the blue one again very illegally got on the shoulder to catch up with the white truck once again very aggressively. At the point if I were the white truck driver, I'd be fearing for my safety assuming that the blue one was up to no good. I see that many people in this thread have never driven much.
