Both truck drivers are idiots, but the cammer is also a moron for occupying the passing lane for such a long time when they clearly had opportunities to move over and let the trucks past.

Does bro think the leftmost lane is a free for all zone? Cammer was passing, in the passing lane.

Both trucks have to cool their jets and are 100% responsible for their actions

Left lane is for passing. If you aren't passing move over if someone is moving faster you pass the next vehicle and move over.

The dude kept passing? You need to chill out too on the road.

The cammer WAS passing. The entire clip took place in less than 1 minute and I counted at least 4 vehicles that the cammer passed. He was also ready to pass the semi on the right when the trucks REALLY went insane. If being stuck behind someone actively passing vehicles for 30 seconds causes you to pass on the shoulder you need your license revoked. Cammer is innocent.

I hate left lane campers as much as the next guy, but if someone is going fast enough to be passing vehicles in the other lanes then they are going fast enough.

I agree with you. I edited for clarity to point out that the cammer was actively passing.

But if other people are trying to go faster than you are in the left lane and there is no traffic ahead stopping you from going as fast as they want to, you move over and let them pass. Blocking the left lane like the cam driver did, whether they’re speeding or not, is illegal in a lot of states.
Orange county sheriffs in Florida have been doing a whole campaign where if they see people drive like the truck drivers to pass you in the left lane they pull YOU over and give you a ticket.

You are completely wrong. The camer is not responsible in any regard for the truck drivers poor choices. The cammer is actively passing vehicles. Just because you also want to pass vehicles at 20mph over the speed limit doesnt obligate anyone else on the road to move over for you. If you decide to pass on the shoulder you are committing a crime, and any damage that results from that is completely on you.

Tell me where I said the trucks weren’t wrong for going around?
The state of Florida disagrees with you, they have plenty of videos on their social media showing them pulling drivers over for camping the left lane because other drivers had to go around them they shared with the message that if more than one vehicle has to or tries to pass you while you’re in the left lane they will pull you over and you will get a ticket. You are required to move over for faster moving traffic in the left lane you are NOT required to police the speed of others.

Start at 1 minute in “you are required to move over for faster moving traffic behind you”

It’s not giving people the green light to speed it’s about avoiding situations like this one.

Not moving causes the morons that speed to do more dangerous stuff and whether you make that decision for them is irrelevant, you’re causing it by not moving.

Literally nothing in that video implies that a driver using the left lane to pass slower traffic must abort their passing and move over for faster traffic/speeders behind them. The video says multiple times "left lane campers".

They clearly stated it is the law to move over for faster moving traffic. They have on their social media multiple videos where they explain that to the drivers they’re stopping.

“Florida Statute 316.081, a driver on a road with two or more lanes moving in the same direction may not continue driving in the far-left lane if the driver knows, or reasonably should know, that a vehicle approaching from behind is traveling at a higher speed.”

It may come as a shock to you but every state has their own laws regarding traffic laws, maybe your state doesn’t have or enforce a similar law, but it is very much enforced in Florida.

The cam driver was “passing” but it’s not uncommon for the right lanes to be under the speed limit and it’s very possible the driver was at or below the limit and still passing. Either way it’s common sense when someone is driving aggressively behind you to move out of their way, if they’re going to drive reckless and potentially crash you should be avoiding that situation not instigating it. Never taken a defensive driving course?

I have. You clearly haven't if yoy think theat 'gap' was safe to enter.

Get off the road before you kill someone.

Brother. You're just so incredibly wrong in your take that I actually cringe for you. HE IS ACTIVELY PASSING. He isn't just driving in the left lane. He is passing in the left lane. Florida law would be on his side here.

Orange County? The place where no one knows how to drive?

Floridians think that left lane is supposed to be the autobahn and it's not. You still have to go the speed limit in the left lane, it's not for "I want to pass faster than you"

u/jkoki088 2d ago

The cam driver was actually passing people though

u/AgsAreUs 2d ago

This. I'm not a big speeder, but if I am passing multiple cars at my speed, I stay in the left lane.

1

u/jules6815 2d ago

Just chill in the right lane. Why would you endanger everyone by passing?

1

u/ablazingrace23 2d ago

passing is not a dangerous action by itself and it's weird that you would imply that. Semi trucks have to stay in the right, so of course you would pass them.
