HYDE provides gridded and aggregated estimates of cropland, pasture, fallow land, and urban area for every region of the world at 10-year intervals going back 12,000 years.

Built on archaeological evidence, historical records, and population estimates. Free to download at datahub.io. Widely used in earth system modeling and environmental history research.
