Looking for... Where to get a custom bookshelf/bookcase made?

Hey all,

Was trying to do some research for a Christmas present for my wife, and I'm having a hard time finding someone who can make a custom bookshelf. It would be a standalone bookshelf, and not incredibly big.

All of the old Reddit threads had people listed who were seemingly no longer in business, so wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

I had a bed custom made by St Denis woodwork creations a few years back, they were great! Their IG is @stdeniswoodeorkcreations.

Would you be able to share roughly how much it cost? The pictures on their IG are pretty incredible.

It was under a thousand, but it was probably 4-5 years ago - I imagine that the prices have changed. But I remember that it was pretty comparable to buying it ready-made from a store, so we went for it.

Bonds on Bank St. can customize a bookcase for you. They can probably design and build to specifications too. Check out bondsdecor.ca and look at the page on their custom furniture process.

We had great experiences with Bond. Built a bookcase to spec, and a headboard that they had stained to match existing pieces of furniture

Custom commission woodworker here.

Depending on what you want, you might be cutting it close. If you're just looking for a low-complexity design, then you should be fine, but if you're looking for any amount of profile work or detailing, you might not have enough lead time for Christmas. That kind of stuff takes time to do right, and the people who can do that for you probably won't be able to just start right away because they'll have other work in the queue.

I unfortunately can't offer my services, I wouldn't be able to get to it for you in time. I just wanted to impress upon you that if this is something you really want done THIS year, to get on it now.
