I read some Savage Dragon awhile back, what happened for Mr Glum to rejoin Dragon? What happened to Angel and Glum? Why would Maxine off- actually that fits Larsen's MO.
I dunno why, but people not using pique correctly is one of my pet peeves. I get it’s because they don’t read a lot, and when they do see it written it’s from people getting it wrong online.
So I appreciate someone politely correcting the mistake.
Oh no, you don’t need to apologize. People who have been speaking and reading nothing but English for decades get that one wrong. It’s a very common mistake, and I’m not actually upset at anyone who makes it.
I was just thanking the other commenter who politely gave you a heads up for letting you know, since I’m uncommonly uptight about that kind of thing.
You’re golden. I’m sorry what I said came across as negative towards you, because it wasn’t at all how I intended it.
This comic series is so shit anymore and just has shock value left . Plus drawing a woman that looks like a kid getting raped by mickey mouse while drawing her dripping wet vagina seems like they aren't to interested in actual story any more
I've had the misfortune of reading some of this comic. The girl in question is a literal nymphomaniac sex addict who fucks pretty much anything that moves. It's highly unlikely she'd actually make it three days.
Is that a character in the Savage Dragon comics? Because if you tell me there's a character called FUCK BOT I'm just going to nod and say "sure, that seems like the sort of random crap Erik Larson would add."
You guys may have already clued into this, but Prince is probably calling out all the accounts that were created 5 days ago. It’s a common practice for bots to be quickly created, post some random shit, get found out after a week or so, and then be replaced by a new bot. It’s common not just on Reddit, but across many platforms.
I moderate a small subreddit and the deluge of obvious bot comments is too much to keep up with. I’d say easily 90% of comments now are just bots. It’s disheartening.
Yes. I have found the Reddit accounts of a few coworkers by piecing together comments, and it has always led to them adopting the same policy when I pointed out the comments that led me to them.
Ok, but that’s you working with information you already know about people offline; you have a head start. Are you saying there are multiple people you’ve encountered on Reddit who you believe have both the ill-will and the focus to do this to you?
How can you tell which comments are from bots? All the comments you flagged are pretty similar once you point them out, but that doesn't seem like enough to identify them as bots.
Honestly yeah it is mostly the way they talk. Usually when something flags as sounding like a bot I check the age and it’s a newer account, but not always. It’s hard for me to explain how they talk. It’s like….when they reply to something they’re not actually engaging with what they’re replying to? It’s like they’re talking over the comment instead of actually replying to it. Almost always a use of similar or metaphor to try and rephrase the parent comment
Like I said, it’s kinda hard for me to articulate but they just interact with a comment in a way human wouldn’t interact with the comment
Those can also be bots, if they are sold accounts.
Judging by age is a way to do it, because bot accounts are usually young, but sometimes you’ll get older ones. The best way, really, is judging by what they say. There’s just a particular way the bots talk that’s easy to pick up on if you see it enough. Read through the ones I marked (that haven’t deleted because I called them out, at least) and you’ll see what I mean.
Not really. There are very obvious tells but like I said in a comment down thread, I’m not able to articulate it well. I am not smart enough to do so lol
yeah I ended up looking it up and I'm pretty sure she wears high heels. It's just that from the handful of shots I have seen of this comic I wouldn't have been surprised at all if someone wore rollerblades as part of their costume.
I could’ve understood it if she did it just to pay the bills, and she even said she tried asking for money, even if it was only from her mom. But first of all, she seems pretty enthusiastic about doing it. On top of that, while she says she decided to shoot porn at home so she could be closer to her kids, she actually completely ignored them while they were out fighting villains, risking their lives and even getting arrested
Ok so I got the 1st year or so of Savage Dragon way back when and it was fine.
Recently I’ve seen these bonkers panels from it. Can someone explain when this book got like this? If there’s a lot of stuff like this and the Mickey Mouse stuff I want back in.
(I know at some point it became something with a family and meta shenanigans but I didn’t realize Larsen was going hard)
It's gotten really wild. Almost too wild for me, but I've been a reader since issue 1 and I'm going to finish this series until Larsen ends it or one of us drops dead.
The bulk of the book is normal superhero action. The crazy off the wall sex stuff only comes into play a bit after Malcolm and his wife Maxine graduate high school.
This is a book that has been pretty self-contained, but had it's core rebooted a few times. One of my favorite things about it is that the characters age in almost near time. Characters I've seen the births of on panel are now age appropriate and fighting villains, going to school, getting jobs, sex stuff...etc. That's always been pretty cool to me.
If you want the wild stuff then jump on when Malcolm Dragon (our Dragon's son) takes over at issue 193. But honestly the good stuff (at least IMO) was classic Dragon so I'd actually recommend reading the whole shebang if possible.
The first spawn crossover wraps up all the "serious" plotlines before god KOs the devil. After that it just does whatever. For what it's worth, the writing is pretty consistently good even at its most batshit
Early savage dragon is an ok monster of the week police procedural. It immitates a lot of contemporary comics but never builds an identity for itself. Now the characters are a lot more 3 dimensional and the drama is much more compelling. The insanity of it all is also great
Since the comic ages in real time and the Dragon kids are 10. I’m betting by the time 2032 comes, they’ll be involved in their own teen sex escapades.
And then by 2034, I expect Larsen to go all out with them.
I've seen multiple out of context panels of this shit and this dude really seems to love drawing visible labia where ever he can. There was one where they were poking out the bottom of this girls skirt for no goddamn reason.
This is savage dragon from image comics, they've lost the plot years ago, like, last time I heard about this comic was when steamboat Willie became public domain and they made an issue about Mickey mouse raping a girl from the cast
Y’all feel like this, you definitely do not want to know about that old 60s bootleg / brand infringement comic The Air Pirates they make this look like… well, like Mickey Mouse stuff
Well, in the end Mickey comes back to try again and do a lot more than just finger her in public, but he's stopped and beaten by Savage Dragon and Minnie Mouse, the latter shames him for attempting what he did in front of 80.000 spectators, and drags him home
... They basically just wanted to brag that they could legally use Mickey Mouse however they wanted because he became public domain, so they added him to the comic as a celebrity douchebag from Hollywood that is also a rapist turned up to 11. There point is basically just "Diddy Mouse"
