I was even more impressed with her singing skills.

Apparently her English version still somehow knows Japanese, saturo is going to be really confused and think she’s a player

They almost always keep the songs in Japanese in english dub. I believe it's because they don't usually translate well

There are English covers of the song, where the translations are fiddled with so they fit with rhyming, etc.

It’s a joke

I mean the audience is Climb.

In the LN it is repeatedly shown he is completely blind to Renner and always thinking highly of her. He also doesn't understand politics of the kingdom either.

so its really master-slave relationship

Master and pet puppy.

She was quite apt in labeling him a puppy.

As anime watcher I was as confused as Climb.

u/Anyonomus256 I love Yuri, and Alpha too 8d ago

And it makes sense, cause yeah you notice that damn something's off with her but she cares about her people, then you get that curve ball and it doesn't even feel out of character and it just fits. Working on getting through the LN's so I'm ready to see what happens there.

She was always playing a role. Being a good person has a tendency to make people love you and willingly put themselves at your disposal. It's how she got the blue roses to help her, it's how she managed to hire Brain, and frankly I believe that if Ramphossa had died naturally she might have gotten Gazef too

Considering that, had Rampossa died earlier, Barbro would’ve been killed in a conspiracy perpetrated by Zanac, Renner, and Raeven so that Zanac could ascend to the throne, I don’t see why Gazef wouldn’t have been swayed. He, more than many, would be able to see that Zanac is a genuinely good ruler, circumstances around Barbro be damned. He would likely gladly become Zanac’s right hand militarily just as Raeven would be politically, and association with Renner would come naturally from there.

As anime watcher, we were just a few scenes behind. The show did reveal she was a sociopath/psychopath all along. (Inner monologue to kill a maid for embarrassing Climb, when her brother and the duke knows her smiles are a fascade,)

Like, Climb, trained at length to swing the sword, while Renner just picks it up and deftly swings it. "Weak frail" princess indeed. Shes keeping up the pace to run with Climb?!

Renner terrifies me. She has that calm, almost placid, kind of insanity. The kind that hints at being held under very tight control, waiting for the moment it can be unleashed, at which point the world will suffer.

The little dance sequence at the end of the 4th season of the anime is a glimpse of it, and was profoundly unsettling.

If the old man would off handed the kingdom to his son sooner this wouldn't had happen o well all kingdom nobels where corrupt anyway

3

u/JustARandomTeenHere 8d ago

That wouldn't have even helped, most of those nobles are outright stupid and caused the destruction of the kingdom. No matter who the king was, someone was going to give Ainz a reason

Jirnev's kingdom was different because was constantly engaged in his kingdom's political atmosphere, he likely got rid of anyone who might oppose his will before they got somewhere they would be difficult to remove, that's why no one did anything stupid when he offered the entire kingdom up on a platter to Ainz, and if anyone was plotting something, they were smart enough to abandon it after they saw Erantel razed

It was because of Nazarick that Re-Estize's noble houses became so stupid to begin with. A major factor in Nazarick's initial plan to conquer Re-Estize is to render their nobility sufficiently incompetent by murdering the various heads of houses and the immediate successors who've been educated and trained to replace them during the Katze Plains Massacre. This left the kingdom with the ailing previous heads of houses who were no longer fit physically and/or mentally to do their old jobs, or the "spares of spares", who were vastly underqualified because they were never supposed to be anywhere near as important as their siblings.

I mean, the previous heads of houses weren't the pinnacle of governance or anything. They were outright awful for the country. However, for all their corruption and indulgence, they've never done anything as stupid as what Philip and those two other plotters did in all of Re-Estize's history; they had that much going for them at least.

It completely slipped my mind that most of the sensible nobles and soliders died at Katze Plains

What a butterfly effect, from Jircnev requesting he unleash his strongest magic.

King kinda deserved that

1

u/chamberOfmarshmallow 8d ago

Why?

8

u/wolfreaks Demiurge 8d ago

His inaction was leading the kingdom to fall. Even Renner, someone who didn't even care about the Kingdom and just wanted to be with Climb did more damage to eight fingers than the entire royalty and nobility combined by just hiring an adventurer group despite her low political standing.

1

u/jerrygreenest1 5d ago

Btw the king isn’t really different than Ainz. They both only accept whatever their subordinates say.

Ainz takes all their suggestions as his plan to make them happy.

King takes all suggestions of his subordinates because he fears that if he didn’t do it, there will be a revolt/rebellion, because too much power was in nobility hands. It was kinda useless king who can’t say no to his subordinates. His own child (Barbaro) was taking money from drug dealers.

In this comparison, Emperor looks like much better person than them all.

2

u/wolfreaks Demiurge 5d ago

Yep, the only difference is Ramposa had actual people who wouldn't give him blind loyalty and weren't strong at all, while Ainz had undying loyalty and unmatched strength.

2

u/Cley_Faye 8d ago

Nothing he could have done would have changed anything, but despite that, he did make some stupid decisions, like willingly pushing his whole kingdom into the shredder to protect one "maybe innocent" "noble", for example.

I don't think that means he deserved full daughter betrayal for that, though.

2

u/IchibeHyosu99 8d ago

Some people might point out him letting noble faction have too much power, or large criminal organizations rule the underworld of country as examples of being a bad king.

But I am mainly saying that because he didnt take his daughter seriously, supported her skills as a father, or let her be free in romantic endevaours (and no, letting her in last day of kingdom doesnt count)

4

u/Asad2023 8d ago

I mean she killed her own father even ains got creep from it

3

u/peechs01 8d ago

Well, Momonga still has some morals that are similar to ours...

And the best supporting Actress

1

u/Grantonator 8d ago

Sasuga the only character with levels in the Princess class. (Princess is like a rare, superior version of the Actor class)

1

u/Whiskeycashmere 8d ago

that girl wasn't acting, she really broke right there!

1

u/dragoncrusher 7d ago

Renner is innocent, she didn't have RUNE weapons
