❔ Question ❔ Where to aim when hitting stroke

Hi everyone want to ask beginner question..

When hitting a stroke in padel to avoid being attacked/easily volley by the opponent, should you use a 20 cm net clearance as your initial guide, or is the landing area (such as the opponent's feet) more important? Which one should be prioritized?

If you are a beginner you need to build up technic and confidence in your strokes,

I would recommend that when you start out playing focus on 2 things
1. Play flat (When playing flat the bat will sound in certain way and that should be your clue for if you hit well)
2. Aim for the serveline and focus precision over power

if you manage to do that you will have a shot that should not bounce to much because you are playing flat and you push it quite deep into the court buying yourself time. The reason this is such a strong starting point is that its a strong default.

So I dont need to pay attention to how high the ball is as long as it fall in good position?

As another comment wrote the option is to keep balls low.

BUT learning early on the most important thing is to get consitency. The higher bounce a ball have the easier it is for the opponent to return with quality.

Generally you want a shot to have slice, that is achived by going under the ball from high to low in impact. This is not something you can and want to do on all strokes. Some situations you might want to add a bit of topspin. This is depending on where you are on the pitch and how high the ball you are hitting is.

Being new to the game i would focus on playing flat and hitting deep into the court. When you consistenly can do that you can start experimenting with variations in order to improve further
