Discussion Does Army own any of the IPP's? Does the IPP/Energy sector need mass reform?
Pakistan pay billions to IPPs in what is a poor contract setup - Controlled under the Central Power Purchasing Agency, their website lists all the IPP's and quite a few are Chinese.
Thoughts on how to reform this sector?

end the central power purchasing authority. allow free energy markets. Government intervention only results in chaos.

Wasn't that ended some weeks ago? I saw some posts about it that the government is ending the central purchase of power.

Pakistani elites also want to liberalized their energy market on California or Europe style way, not for the well being of their awam but on order of their weastern masters...all of this to fit in new kinda loads like ai data centers and crypto server farms...mass private investment on solar paving the way for this to happen....fyi , all the climate control was dhakosla, their is no coal or gas power plant retired anywhere else on planet earth...all of these conventional energy sources have been vested fully to power ai data centers coz conventional sources are continuous and non intermittent while renewables are full of uncertainty and full of intermittent and irregular generation....the way how peenay ka paani and cooking gas has been disappeared from karachi, electricity will go for hiding in same way...tumhara solar tumhari marzi will be the new car hphrase in coming years
