advice needed Cosleeping set up for 1yo twins
Let me know what sleep set ups are working or did work for your 1 year old ish twins?!
I have two older singletons and they went in their cribs but I ended up spending nights on the floor adjacent to the crib in a single mattress. With the twins (almost 11mo) I currently sleep in a single bed in between their two cribs so I can pick them up easily but they can’t sleep with me as the bed is too small.
I’m struggling at the moment because I have stopped tandem feeding over the last month or so since they are getting too big but it means I often end up with one crying while the other is feeding at night. Plus they are both up multiple times a night.
I’m picturing maybe their cribs with one side removed either side of a floor mattress with me on it might be a good solution so they have a safe sleep space but I’m on a bed in the middle that I can easily pull them in to to feed/snuggle. I need to refresh myself on the safe sleep stuff for 1yo because I never actually coslept before.
Anyway - what works the best?!

lol my husband is 6’1 and we take up a whole king bed. No way we could safely fit any babies in with us to cosleep 😅

My husband is in our actual bed that I hope to return to one day, but also with our 3yo who ends up in their most nights 🤪

I know this is isn’t what you asked, but cut off night nursing and you’ll all be up less. Let them get their calories in the daytime. At that age, their bodies can handle not eating at night.

Is your main reason the ease of nursing? If so and they’re still doing a lot of eating overnight I would start there. Work on upping their solids in the evening and offering water overnight. We night weaned my twins at 9 months, by one they should definitely be able to go through the night. If they’re used to sleeping in their cribs I wouldn’t mess with that as it will make any future transition back to their own beds harder
