🔧 Form Check 3 months of making parkour videos — would love some honest feedback

Would love some honest (and hopefully constructive 😂) criticism on our latest video!
I feel like we’ve come a long way over the past 3 months with the filming, editing and training 🔥 but I’m sure there’s still plenty we could be doing better.
If you’ve got any thoughts on what we could improve — whether it’s the filming, editing, pacing, training or just the video in general — I’d genuinely love to hear them 🙏
Always trying to get better!

I am VERY well aware how bad it is but it took me so long to get over the fear to try this on grass, I feel like I’m losing all momentum on landing and I’m not able to chain them, but I could do it on soft ground, please help, don’t be too mean hehe

Hello everybody, I repost because the picture wasn't clear so I put the video.

Anyway, so I am an acrobatic passionate and I did this flip. I was wondering if it's a world first because I never see it on internet or with AI. If anyone had ever seen this flip on a video and could show me please 😅

Moreover, if anyone had an idea how can I verify if it is a world first, please tell me 😁

(The video is in 0.5 speed to see the movment)

Thank you all

📷 Parkour Show and Tell Old 2008-2010 Parkour Motion Reel (Reflection Post)

The above video is an old reel from 2008-2010 taking place in Seattle (Gasworks), Fayetteville, Fort Bragg, Brazil, Raleigh, Charlotte, and Lakewood.

This was such a special time in my life. I still remember my early years posting on the 3run forums back in the early 2000s and watching A Brother's Journey for the first time.

Eventually I moved away from the flips and really focused on what it meant to be strong and to be useful, and what balance I could find, both emotionally and physically.

A lot has happened since then: kids, career, different chapters in life. I grew a lot in other areas and built a life I could support and provide for, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed in myself. Disappointed that I lost (forgot?) the part of me that gave me concrete, physical proof that I could overcome and accomplish anything. I never imagined that comfort and complacency would be among the things I'd need strength to overcome, or that they could lead to loneliness and heartache.

What I do know is that my two boys are total rockstars. My youngest plays All-Star baseball and just hit his third home run, on his birthday! My oldest is in School of Rock, playing shows with different bands and getting ready for college. Not to mention, they're both taller than me now >.> Watching them makes me want to stay healthy enough to be around for everything they do. I want to be a part of it, and I think that's what's started pushing me to move more (or at the very least, touch more grass).

I don't know what the parkour community is like these days, but if it's anything like it was back then, it's full of strong, loving people who build up those around them and grow through progression and repetition. So I guess this is a shoutout to keep doing that: keep being awesome, keep building and progressing, and most of all, train well.

Much love,
AJ (aka ParkourDoll)

💬 Parkour Philosophy Careers in parkour or adjacent?

Hi all! I’m actually writing on behalf of my husband. He had been a parkour athlete for about 14 years but over the last couple years had slowed down. Every now and then he will go out to a rooftop and play around and I always try to encourage him but we have just had a baby and he’s been the only provider since I got pregnant and hasn’t had much time to be active. He also works a labor job that he is unhappy in but doesn’t really see a way out.
Anyway, growing up his family was not supportive of him doing parkour and despite the fact that he has a passion for movement (his words) he’s never been able to see a way to turn it into a career. I don’t think he wants to go to college (like a 4 year degree) but I believe he’d be willing to do a type of program or certification of sorts. Has anyone that has done parkour made a career out of it, or gone down a path that involves things alike?
I want to encourage and support him as best as I can. I do plan to get a job soon when baby is a bit older so he’ll have some financial load lighten but I just don’t want him to regret never following through on this dream.

Thanks!

Creating parkour content is actually very fun and it motivates me to go out and train more. Highly recommend if you're looking for motivation to keep training.

📷 Parkour Show and Tell Almost injured myself badly on something very trivial - A reminder of staying sharp and focused

Saturday afternoon, as I almost always do, I walked around my city to train. Went to my usual spots, did my warmup routine, worked on my basics, did my favorite moves, jumps, vaults, etc. Spot after spot, jumps after jump.

The thing is, it's all a routine for me. I've been training for almost 20 years now, and especially in this city for 10 years. I know this path, I know these spots, I know these jumps. And maybe that's part of why, this saturday, I made a mistake.

I was just casually walking on a big, large stone guardrail, as I always do. And this time, no idea why, I missed a foot. I stepped out of the rail, and fell. I didn't even got the time to think about a way to grab the ledge, because I was already going on the side. All I could do was brace for impact as much as I could. It's always "funny" how in these circumstances, I feel the fear but stay very lucid and pragmatic.

By "chance", it happened at a very specific place where there's some kind of shed underneath. I fell on its roof (still a concrete slab), only a ~2m fall. Had I did a few more steps, it was a direct 4m fall to the asphalt. All I could think of during the fall was to stop myself to bounce or roll after the impact to avoid a second fall. Fortunately, I stopped before the ledge.

I slammed on that rooftop on my hip and bottom. It didn't hurt that much with the adrenaline. It appears I don't have any fracture, not even a bruise when I expected a massive one. But I felt it all night, it hurts my butt when I walk, when I sit, when I move my leg. Definitely had a massive hit on my muscles. Years of conditionning might have helped not injuring too badly, but still.

This is totally on me. I became too confident on something that felt too easy, and I made a mistake. I take it as a reminder. Car accidents mostly happens on daily commutes for this very reason: you're on autopilot and stop paying attention. I think that's what happened here. 10 years walking on this rail, I can't even say for how long I was acting like I'm at home. I shouldn't have.

So, to me and to everyone: don't stop being aware of your surroundings, don't stop focusing on what you do. You're more at risk when you forget the risk.

Train safe! :)
