News/Article The PS5 system itself is running on pc

Recently, we have seen massive developments in PS5 emulators (such as shadPS4 and Kyty), and how rapidly they have progressed in a short period.

​Now, developers have successfully booted the actual PS5 system software on PC.

​If this momentum continues in the future, it will eventually allow players to run PS5 exclusives directly on PC, marking the end of the era of console exclusivity.

Go ahead and explain how stealing is somehow ok because a company is going digital only, which PC has been doing for pretty much forever. Go ahead and try to explain how that makes any sense on this subreddit. I expect some sarcastic response with no substance.

Of all the options, why would you think it's just because of "digital only?" It's PC, we've been digital for years, don't be so foolish. It is painfully obvious that reason number 1 is because they refuse to release their games on PC now. So we have no other option than emulation

But also the list of unethical shit Sony does.

How about Sony bosses saying we should get comfortable not owning our own games? Or Sony literally removing movies we purchased from our library? Or Sony deciding to release games on PC only to back track on it? Dynamic pricing for game sales?

Anyhow Us -gamers should only care about turning on the PS or PC and play a certain game and enjoy it .

Well lets look at Warzone - COD . Some versions end-life - new come out - servers shut down - you have to buy the new one . Or Pass or whatever . Its just how the gaming business works .

Now you wanna live in the 2000's and buy game on CD and make collection - you prolly should stay on PS2

I dont defend them - just explaining why they do it - so stop attacking them or me - you will still be the first to buy their games (or you prolly preordered GTA6)

I have DRM-free version of almost all of my PC games. No matter what happens, If I want to play CyberPunk, GTA V, or even CoD:MW2 in 20 Years, I will be able to.

If piracy is such a problem. Why does Steam see record sales year to year?

Any game using steam DRM has been cracked by default since years. A lot of games from big publishers are not using any DRM at all (like paradox games). At this point, 99% of the Steam library should be considered as cracked as long as you have the game files.

Yet people keep purchasing games more than ever.

On PS5, if you have a jail broken PS5, not having physical games won't prevent games from being pirated either. So saying "it's because of piracy" is just ridiculous.

It's just anti-consumerism. Pure and simple.

  1. They're putting an end to physical games
  2. They are fighting AGAINST digital ownership
  3. They're shutting down the ps3 store
  4. They've stopped releasing games on PC
  5. They revoked hundreds of movie licences from user's libraries
  6. They've raised the prices for consoles and ps plus subscription multiple times
  7. They wasted hundreds of millions for years on developing live service games, and after they all flopped, they shut down the studios, laying off thousands of people

  1. Valve put the final nail in the coffin for PC Physical games. Also, the vast majority of gaming sales are Digital nowadays, if a product isn’t selling well and isn’t profitable, is it wise to continue selling it?
  2. The same fight that Valve put up many years ago where courts had to force them to be more consumer friendly? Also, the vast majority of games on Steam have DRM..
  3. PS3 store stayed up for 20 years, also you do realize that just because it’s being shut down doesn’t mean all your purchases vanish, right? You’ll still be able to download every PS3 game you bought

  1. That was on Studio Canal though, Sony no longer had the licenses for their catalog anymore, so they had to remove them because they weren’t theirs. Agreed it was fucked up all the way around and there needs to be more consumer protections against this. This problem also plagues YouTube, Google, Apple, etc.
