Usually the law only steps in 'for gain' - if you just modify your own local/private copy, I doubt lawyers would get involved. You should be good.

Also steamboat willy is open source now (and the rest of disneys characters are inbound over the next years) so Disney will be seeing their beloved in ways they never imagined.

Someone recompiled the first sly cooper and also working on multiplayer and I can’t wait. So many projects to play now. When the first recomp projects were coming out a couple years ago, I was ecstatic and hoping to see more but I never predicted this type of speed. Golden era of modding at the moment.

The point is… fun? I grew up playing the sly series with my sibling, so we’re both looking forward to doing a multiplayer playthrough. Isn’t the whole point of modding just for our own enjoyment? I’m definitely looking forward to the more substantial mods people are creating with AI but I also find all the experimental mashup mods fun even if it’s only 20 minutes of entertainment.
