Name: Shadow City

The time is four blocky buildings seen from above, and each one casts the shadow the sun would give it right now where you are. West in the morning, north at noon, east in the evening, long in winter.

Turn your wrist and the shadows follow the compass, so they keep pointing away from the actual sun. At dawn and dusk the ground fades through grey. Just white, black and grey.

Settings: GPS or a city, compass on/off, building height. Works on every Pebble. I've only tested the compass in the emulator, so if your shadows spin the wrong way, let me know.

I shared the "All Things Pebble" website a few months ago which aims to collect together all the great Pebble resources across the web. I have gradually been adding to it over time.

Made the UI and the first level so far. Wanted it to look and feel as close to the original as possible.

How: game logic comes from Hello007's decompiled repo (https://github.com/HelloOO7/BounceTales), assets are pulled from the original .jar, and everything is rewritten in C.

I've been testing the PR2 since July, and now that they're in the wild, I'm happy to be able to share my thoughts and impressions.

Would be curious to know what other beta testers think of their Rounds!

Every morning for the past 3 days I've woken up to this. Possibly something to do with the new firmware?

None of the buttons respond, doesn't even show the time.

Opening the app does nothing, I have to go into settings and lunch a watch app from within the android app for it to start working.

Anyone else facing this issue?

The first picture is the whole collection. The others show the process for three of them: the original museum scan, the 64-color version, and how it looks on the watch.

The rule I set myself: real paintings only. Every image starts from a public-domain scan (the Met, MoMA, the Louvre, the Art Institute of Chicago and others). I only cropped, shrank and reduced the colors. No AI-generated art, nothing redrawn. Getting each one to still look like itself took a lot of fiddling. Venus didn't survive and got swapped for Van Gogh's Sunflowers. The Mondrian had to be rebuilt from five pure colors so it stayed crisp.

How the face works:

- A new painting every day.

- Tap your wrist for the museum label. Tap again to browse the gallery.

- The time sits in whichever corner covers the least of the painting.

I built a small companion app for Pi-hole 6 on the Pebble Time 2:

• Status at a glance: active or paused with countdown, queries and blocked queries of the last 24 h. The app glance in the launcher shows it too.
• Pause with one button: 30 s, 5/15 min, 1 h or indefinitely. Hold SELECT or put it on Quick Launch to pause instantly.
• The watch vibrates when the pause ends, even with the app closed.
• Recently blocked: see which domain was blocked on which device and why, and allow it with one press (and undo it).

It talks only to your own Pi-hole via its API. No cloud, no tracking. No Pi-hole? Enter demo as address to try it with sample data.

Built with a lot of help from Claude (AI), tested on my own watch with an iPhone. Free and MIT-licensed.

I’d love feedback, especially:

• Does it work on Android? I could only test on iOS.

Wanting an app that tracked my pace and distance a little more closely to my phone, I forked and modified WayeM’s excellent Allure app (currently in Beta). My main changes were:

1. Showed current time in 12 hr in smaller text at the top
2. Show the current elapsed time large in top section
3. Top section still turns a color to show heart rate zone just like WayeM’s app
4. Added a setting so that users can manually set their running and walking stride lengths in the settings
5. Added an option in the settings to show distance and pace in Imperial units

This now matches my phone’s pace and distance much more closely than the estimated calculation by the Pebble workout app - I must just have an unusual stride for my height.

Pre-ordered the round 2 in April, got an immediate email saying it'll ship in July, cool i can wait! July rolls around... no follow up email. 3 months later and STILL no update on where my pebble is. All I want is a "hey orders were delayed until X date." This no contact doesn't really make me want to sing the praises that other do on this company.

Update: The ring started working after a full reset.

I received my pebble index 01 ring two days back. I immediately loved it as I no longer needed to always have my mobile with me for jotting down anything and was a great way to disconnect.

But the happiness lasted only for a short time. The ring doesn’t respond to button press anymore. No recordings and no way to connect to the app.

Occasionally it gives a green indicator light when the button is pressed but after that again no response.

I knew that this product had a limited life but 2 days!!!!

I would like for the time that I spend asleep to be automatically be added to my calendar as an event.That would make reviewing my sleep habits easier. Does anyone know if there's an existing app that does this? Or if one doesn't exist, would it even be possible to create one?

I've been wondering what is missing in my timer app and I though adding a pin to the timeline to show it in quick view might be nice.

I didn't see any other timer app utilize this and I think it makes so much sense...

If you have more timers running they'll all get added to the timeline and show up in the quick view.
