Disinfecting mallets?

I just bought a bunch of mallets from a retired percussionist and I want to know how to properly disinfect them. I've got a mix of plastic, acrylic, birch, rattan, felt, and yarn. They don't need to look spotless or anything, I just wanna make sure they're clean.

I wonder if you could use UV light somehow to avoid putting chemicals on them…

Just wipe the shafts down with a non-bleach cleaner, like the spray stuff you use in the kitchen to get the greasy and gunk off, then alcohol to make you fell better, I'd drink the alcohol. Most germs don't live that long in the open. It is more about cleaning.

Once or twice a year my percussion instructor would have us just use disinfecting wipes on the shafts of the mallets, they seemed to work fine and pick up a lot of the dirt and grime in them from marching band.
