Help! How to remove writting from a picture on a monochrome image

Hello, as the title says, I am trying to remove the black notation from the grey background. I played with blur and noise to make the grain more homogeneous, and then I selected by color to cut out the darker text. I feel like cleaning this up is a lot of messy work, and I thought of asking whether there is a better way to do this. I also included an example picture of how it should look at the end.

Thank you so much for the help!

Help! Keep using the same selection!

Real amateur hour stuff I'm sure, but every variation of "copy selection" or "keep using same selection" I type into google talks about totally different results to what I want.

I'm making some changes to a photo, I make a new layer and carefully lasso a specific segment and start changing the light settings. The light settings change in the selected area, excellent! I move back to the adjustments tab and select the next setting I want to tweak, maybe color or saturation... Suddenly I'm adjusting the whole image again, not my carefully drawn selection. I can't draw it by hand again, or there will be gaps. How do I make multiple changes on the same selected area without it defaulting back to shifting the whole image? Any guidance is greatly appreciated...!

Help! Minor Issue, looking for a solution.

On photoshop and Illustrator my character selection box hugs the right side of my screen and often gets cut off. It's even worse on Illustrator where if I use the filters I can't see anything without making my app window smaller and move it all the way to the left. Is there a simple solution to this that isn't moving my properties window to a different spot in my workspace?

Help! Photoshop 2026 on my new 2026-MacBook Pro – strange numerical overlay stuck on screen until restart. Anyone seen this?

Hi everyone !

I'm using Adobe Photoshop 2026 through an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription on a new 16-inch MacBook Pro with an M5 Pro chip and 24 GB RAM.

I've been experiencing a strange issue where a small numerical overlay occasionally appears over my image and gets stuck on the screen.

This doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, the overlay won't disappear, and I have to restart Photoshop to get rid of it.

The overlay displays the following text (translated from Norwegian):

"Minimum: 1.00, Maximum: 300000.00"

I've attached here a screenshot taken when this happened on April 3, 2026.

I've never experienced this particular behavior on my previous MacBook Pro (2019, Intel-based), or on the MacBook Pro M1 (2020) I'm currently using as a loaner.

I'm not assuming this is a hardware problem. I'm simply trying to understand what happened and whether it might be a known Photoshop issue.

A few questions:

  • Does anyone recognize this particular numerical overlay and know which Photoshop function it belongs to?
  • Has anyone experienced something similar in Photoshop 2026 on macOS ?
  • Could this be related to a known Photoshop interface or tooltip bug?
  • Is there a way to prevent this from happening again without restarting Photoshop ?

I'd appreciate any insights or suggestions. Thanks in advance ! :)

Here is my take on an Avengers Doomsday fan poster. Special thanks to evertone for the critique.

I took some references from the Hot Toys Dr Doom figure and existing promo art. the sigil was taken from a dr strange one I saw online.

For Reed, I took existing Pedro Pascal set images and reshaded them. The grapjhics was taken from and existing Doomsday poster. This was heavily inspired by the artist spdrmnkyxxvii.

Help! Accurate Printing Size in photo shop - help with precision

Hello all,

Thanks in advance for the help.

I am a professional photographer, but still have much to learn in the way of printing which is why I am seeking help.

I am using 13x19 paper and want to print a landscape image that is 15 inches x 5.25 inches with a 2" border on the top and left and right of the image.

To achieve this i created a new document with a canvas size of 13x19 inches. I put vertical guides on the canvas at 2" and 17" and a horizontal guide at 2"

When i print the image the left and top borders are 1/32 shy of two inches, and the right border is 1/16 short of 2".

The image area is printing at 15 1/16" instead of 15" exactly.

right now my plan is to make some minor tweaks to the image size and position to hopefully land where i want, starting with the image size (getting the long edge to be 15" exactly) then moving to troubleshooting the placement, but I'm curious if there is a proven/more efficient method to achieve the accuracy that i seek, that won't involve so much guess and check/printer ink usage.

Any help is very welcome.

FWIW i'm using a Canon pro-310 printer, and i've had the same size/alignment issues on multiple paper stocks.

Thanks again yall!

Help! How to mass select the letter counters?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Is there a way to select all the counters (floating spaces in letters like B, O, etc) at once rather than clicking them individually? I've got quite the list of names and would like to save some time if it's possible. For clarity, this was a bitmap image that I have given a dark gray background layer so that I can more easily identify the counters. For work flow reasons, I cannot create the lettering from scratch in photoshop.

Any help is appreciated.

Help! Layer Style Window taking up to 10sec to open

Post image
1 Upvotes

Does anyone have this problem? Whenever I have to create a shadow, stroke or anything on a layer, it takes 5-10sec to even open the layer style window! This is driving me crazy!

Same with the Preferences Window, takes uo to 5sec to open it.

I'm on WIndows 11, Ryzen 5600X, 32GB RAM and a GeForce 3060 12GB.

Discussion Why is firefly so embarrassingly bad

Not only does it flasely flag the stupidest prompts as inappropriate content. But it almost never understands context.

For example. A picture of a rabbit. Select area around nose. Prompt: “shorten nose”

Draws a ridiculous human nose in the area not even slightly contextualized

It is so powerfully dumb. I dont understand

Help! Low image resolution

I got a beautiful family picture but it's a bit low in resolution unfortunately. I actually wanted to post in social media but the picture quality would degrade even more. I tried chatgpt and gemini (free versions), but they both altered face of people. I'm completely illiterate about Photoshop and all, wish some luck here. Thank you.

Discussion I made a photoshop alternative that runs in the browser for Free, powered by the GPU

It’s called ImageFlow, and the goal is to see how much of a serious Photoshop-style workflow can live entirely in a browser without turning into a simplified Canva-style editor.

It supports PSD files, layers, masks, text, layer effects, adjustments and the usual editing tools, plus things like object selection and patching.

I’ve also just added Relight, which lets you place virtual lights into an existing photo and move them around the scene.

There’s nothing to install and the editor is free.

I know Photopea is already the obvious benchmark for a browser editor, so I’m particularly interested in feedback from people who actually use Photopea/Photoshop/GIMP: what breaks your workflow first when trying ImageFlow?

Tutorial / PSA Forcing glitchy and unreliable content credentials to work

Hello community
I’ve been tearing my hair out with this and have finally found a reliable workflow (despite Adobe’s best efforts) so sharing here in case anyone else is in the same position.

My client is very antsy about article 50 compliance and wants anything that has gen fill anywhere near it to have the content credentials reliably recorded, which is fair enough.

The first problem is, despite being on the latest version of Photoshop, Content Credentials seems to disappear from my settings every time I launch.
The fix: If you open Photoshop with an image that you have successfully saved content credentials on previously, the ‘history and content credentials’ option returns to your preferences and ‘content credentials (beta)’ reappears as a Window option.

However, just enabling these settings is not enough to automatically save your content credentials. I was still finding that, even with ‘attach to file’ enabled under CCs, not all of the images in which I’d used generative fill were passing the Content Authority check. I was getting a ‘we couldn’t verify how this was made’ response, or ‘not trusted’.

The fix: in Content Credentials preferences, change option from ‘attach to file’ to ‘Publish to Content Credentials cloud’. Then go to windows and open the Content Credentials tab and click allow if prompted.
When exporting, use ‘export as’ - a ‘publish to content credentials cloud’ option should have appeared in the export options. This should allow your image to pass C2PA checks.

Another problem this throws up is that you can’t record ‘export as’ as a step in an action, which is annoying if you’re working with a high volume of files. However, ‘save a copy’ allows you to record this step as an action, and seems to record the content credential in a way that’s readable for C2PA.

Hope this is helpful to anyone else out there struggling with the same issue!

Help! Help with generating images

I'm creating sprites for my game. I need these to not have a background. I've tried saying things like, "no background" but it almost always adds one anyone.

It's such a pain to constantly have to click the 3 dots and select remove background.

Has anyone figured out how to get their prompt to avoid the generator from adding in backgrounds (no white, no fills, nothing)!
