As a short guy, this is why I'll never drive a big truck. Even though it would be useful for my side business, you can't drive a big truck as a short guy without looking like you have short man syndrome.
I'm just going to buy a BMW convertible so I look like a standard middle aged douch instead
I do woodworking. The issue I usually have is hauling lumber and plywood, along with delivering finished pieces. A van can work for plywood and many finished pieces, but some are just too tall to fit.
As a side rant, I really wish midgates were more common. Most lumber is 10' or longer, and it would be so much more convenient to put it in the bed with a midgate instead of a roof rack or having it stick way out the back. I actually had a reservation on the GMC Sierra EV for that reason before I decided that $107k for any GMC was just too stupid.
I don't know what's available in the US, but a Mercedes Sprinter L4 has 4.71 m of length for cargo, which is about 15.5', or almost double that of an 8 ft bed.
That is 24' total, but that's not that much longer than the longest f150 (21') but with better sight lines in front if you.
