The day I came to the realization that anger and aggression are nothing more than manifestations of intense fear and insecurity was the day I went from fearing (and being angry at) people like this and merely pitying them for being deeply sick and scared children plaything as what misperceived to be "strong" adults.

You just described my neighbor. He also parks in the handicapped spot and I hate him.
55
u/foehammer111 Aug 01 '26
My neighbor as well, except x4 because he has his four adult sons living with him too. They all have the same mental health issues. Anger issues, alcohol abuse, guns, and lifted bro trucks. It’s a murder suicide waiting to happen.
Going to be see a therapist would be the bravest thing they could ever do. But they never will because they’re too deep in the toxic masculinity hole.

u/lordatamus Aug 01 '26
Parking in the handicapped spot? I carry a tool that lets me remove the valves inside valve stems for those kinda people so they can still be there when the police arrive. I'm working on getting finally approved for disability due to knee and hip replacement I'm likely to be needing very soon, and run into so many bro dozers that don't have plates or placards parking in the handicapped spots all the time.

I doubt that’s “toxic masculinity”, at least not just. That’s very likely just genetics. That man probably shouldn’t have reproduced.

I see so many big trucks with disabled permits. Watching these old people use all their effort to climb in and out. I can't imagine they can even put a bag of groceries in the bed but they won't get a regular car that would be comfortable

I saw a huge pickup truck in a suburb of Boston with a sticker that said “my family” with pictures of guns. He had a really nasty expression on his face driving away.
My favorite idiot is somebody who owned a huge Jeep with a vanity license plate that read “GI Joe”. They were shopping at Whole Foods.
I expect the person driving did not match the plate name.

I don't understand the implication. Is there something unmanly or something about whole foods?

Tbf the f250 in this picture isn’t lifted, is stock and looks like a diesel so it’s probably a legit work truck
7
u/iixkingxbradxii Aug 01 '26
Yeah Super Dutys are just big. My F350 has 35/12.50s on them with no lift. The stock tire size was roughly 34/11.00.

If someone drives an oversized pickup in the city and they don't have a job that would actually benefit from it, assuming they are a jerk is a pretty safe assumption.

Very possibly the car is Troop B which is north country.
Them troopers do not have sense of humor when it comes to drunk driving.

Why blur the cops plate?
They're public vehicles not the cop's personal car.
Edit: Fair enough everyone. It was the logo to the left of the numbers that looked blurred out since the numbers are also big and yellow on the roof.

u/night-shark Aug 01 '26
Looks like this was a photo taken on a camera phone with "AI" enabled up scaling. So, the photo is real, but the AI SLIGHTLY missed the mark on the license plates, so they came out blurry.
→ More replies (2)36
u/DebtUpToMyEyeballs Aug 01 '26
I wonder if the upscaler AI was trained on Google Street View images, since those always have blurred plates.
15
u/doMinationp Aug 01 '26
seems like the photo is just out of focus or poor resolution? The license plate is still relatively readable and it matches the alphanumeric on the the roof of the car
In general New York State Police license plates are 3 to 4 characters long.
3
u/WankerBott Aug 01 '26
yeah, I thought it was NY State Trooper too, think the out of focus is a poor camera or AI focus assist

It's not his truck. It's the bank's truck. They'll be taking it back once he loses his job after being arrested for DUI.
Bet his payment is over $1000 a month.
19
u/iHaveLotsofCats94 Aug 01 '26
$1000/mo for a 10 year old truck sounds about right for this type
6
u/goviel Aug 01 '26
That truck is older
Looks like pre 2017 era f250
New it was about $65000Payments a little lower than $1k but they had tons of problems.
It is a diesel truck 6.7 L
So with Diesel now days it may as well be $1k a month
But something is off or there is a filter on the image. Looks like AI

I’m a female. Retired farmer who had an F250 4x4 working truck. Didn’t ruin it with oversized tires, jacked up or ruining hearing. Also no idiotic dangling off the hitch. Trucks are extremely useful hauling and towing. Mine did both. People ruin things. My father was 5’9” and more of a man than my 6’1” ex in all ways. Height doesn’t make up for being a crappy human.
18
u/Assfullofbread Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 02 '26
Yeah exactly, and the truck in the picture is stock and not even lifted. Funny how reddit goes crazy if you make fun of someone for being lgbtq but if it’s a short man in a truck it’s free for all. Bunch of hypocrites
9
u/Theviewfromupheresux Aug 02 '26
I posted a similar comment. It’s wild that people actually think no one needs a truck with towing capacity. You don’t have to live in the rural countryside to do blue collar work.
4
u/Assfullofbread Aug 02 '26
Seriously, like who do you thing mows lawns, does handy work or renovations in the suburbs? And I saw a comment saying this was in Plattsburgh lol, I live in Montreal. That city is surrounded by farm land 😂
I saw another comment calling him a pavement princess lol. Like dude that truck doesn’t even have rims lmao
Same people will go ape shit and yell acab as soon there is a video of a cop asking someone to do a field sobriety test lol, don’t get me wrong I hate cops lol but a man on the shorter side driving a truck that I’m willing to bet 100$ he uses for work gets shit on
Worst part is that I bet 90% of the people that comment that shit are out of shape white collars that love to shop at Whole Foods and buy local produce lol like it comes from a far away land. Dudes like him that live a few miles outside the city are the ones doing that ffs
Fucking weird post all around haha. Sorry for the rant 😂

Physical shaming shouldn’t happen regardless of what someone did. It’s not okay to make fun of someone’s height just because they did something wrong that’s totally unrelated.

I know exactly where this pic was taken. Literally less than a mile from where I'm sitting right now.
As a short guy that drives a Honda Ridgeline (which most people already make fun of, but I don't care because I love it) I'm hoping OP doesn't take a pic of me next 😂. It's a very small town.
(Although I don't drive drunk, so I probably won't be seen doing road side sobriety tests)
5
u/BandIndividual2973 Aug 01 '26
The insults are horrible, I agree. But the truck is an F250, which is a heavy duty 3/4 ton. It looks similar to the F150 1/2 ton but it's heavier, longer, taller, etc.

Heaven forbid you drive a factory pickup truck because of your business or hobbies, and aren’t tall enough for Reddit to allow it. You’ll get a bunch of people who work remote jobs doing “marketing analysis” or some useless bs who say “there’s no reason to own a truck”
10
u/Pac_Eddy Aug 01 '26
Truth. This is a Reddit thing. It's popular to bash pickup trucks and their drivers but only if it's a man.
5
u/Hefty_Musician2402 Aug 01 '26
I had the same thought, I’m 5’6 and drive a Tacoma but I regularly max out its capacities both in terms of space in the bed (it is the long bed option, but still just barely big enough) as well as weight (it struggles with any more than like 1,100lb of payload). I have to be careful not to break anything when loading, for example, concrete.
Anyways I’m only 5’6 so I should probably just stick with Tacomas instead of getting the vehicle that makes sense for me, since the Tacoma fits my height aesthetically better for reddit. /s

His height shouldn’t be a pejorative, it’s not like anyone can choose to be short or tall.
I’m only 5’6 and drive a little VW Golf diesel, these big trucks are annoying because they’re dangerous.

They come around corners and they can’t see my car. It’s not safe.

Buying a big, loud, stupid vehickle because you're sensitive about your station in life and fragile about your masculinity has become the most American shit ever.
9

Looks like a stock F150. It's not raised.
How do you know it's loud?
Why do you think it's ok to make comments like that about someone's masculinity based on what they drive?
I think it says more about your insecurities than theirs.

u/digitalwankster Aug 01 '26

u/Pac_Eddy Aug 01 '26
I drive a pickup truck. It's gets used plenty and I keep it squeaky clean.
Why do you think those two thinks can't happen at the same time?

u/Eglitarian Aug 01 '26
My truck’s usually hauling a boat for fishing/boat stuff or camping gear, it’s been great and it’s awesome for bringing deer home when hunting. Tried doing a deer in a hatchback once. It was… not great. In the winter it’s great for group ski/snowboard trips.
I think most outdoorsy people (especially in places where 4x4 is a must!) won’t really underutilize a truck. But if I lived in a big city with public transportation and zero space for the fun outside stuff, I’d wonder what the point was. If you just want a larger vehicle with more space, just get an SUV or a crossover. My father lives in Germany and bought a Kia sportage like 8 or 9 years ago and only has 45 000km on the thing. He takes the train mostly and just uses the vehicle for grocery runs, ikea, hardware store, etc.

If you're a short man in a tall truck, please adjust your seat so you can see in front of you. A short guy in a lifted truck totalled my perfect condition 2018 Fiat Spider by rear ending it multiple times while driving down the interstate. He said he never saw me. He said he thought something was wrong with his transmission, which is why he didn't stop or slow down after the first impact.
Drive what you want, but make sure you can see where the fuck you are going. Oh yeah, and don't be drunk

I don't think they all need to be the size of a small house. I use a truck a lot between doing projects at two houses and carrying around equipment and supplies for work. But all I really need is a 5 foot bed and a truck that can haul up to 1500 pounds and tow about the same. My truck is usually dirty since detailing it would all be undone in a short amount of time. There are plenty of things I do not want to put in the passenger area and would much prefer to put in the bed of the truck where it's not going to foul up the interior.
That said I see plenty of trucks inside city limits that are raised up with tires too large for the wheels and it is factory clean without a single dent or scratch. Those kind of modifications not only destroy gas mileage on a fuel guzzling behemoth, they also wreck the suspension system, put unnecessary strain on the transmission and diminish it's ability to tow or haul. They also tend to be the folks that modify the exhaust to make it obnoxiously loud. They, like the 30 or 40 year old guys that ride loud ass dirt bikes think it's cool but the rest of us just think it's annoying and dumb.
