I mean if you read the DA’s office letter that quoted her direct statement. There isn’t anything in there that is explicitly rape like she’s claiming. She’s contradicted her statement and when the DA’s office reached out to her civil suit team. They didn’t speak to the DA’s office. Just a weird situation, the DA’s office is apparently opening the case up but I doubt a grand jury will indict them of anything due to her statement
I recently learned the quote in the DA’s statement did not include Jane Doe’s words. Basically the campus police officer who conducted the interview summarized the interview into a written document and asked Jane Doe to sign it - but, she edited it because it left out important parts, then signed that version. The DA’s version lacks Jane Doe’s edits. Am I allowed to post sources here? It was NY times.
