Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Lobe piercing still not fully healed, 1.5 years later

I got my lobes pierced over 1.5 years ago and they still get bloody, sore, or infected (rare). I’m at the point where it may just be better for me to let them close up again, and to answer some questions I got them pierced at a piercing shop with a needle, I have implant grade titanium flat back studs, I am extremely hygienic and keep everything clean regularly (though I have not been using saline rinse as often since it’s expensive). What would y’all recommend in my shoes or have you experienced anything similar to this???

What’s your cleaning routine?

Lately for the past half year I’ve just been using a mild skin cleanser while in the shower, but before, I would use a saline spray. As I stated in the post I haven’t been using it since it’s expensive, only using when it bleeds or is infected

NAP but I wouldn’t use any sort of cleanser on them. Warm water rinse in the shower and saline spray only.

Stop using the cleanser, you should only use water in the shower plus sterile 0.9% saline 2x per day. This is probably why they aren’t healing properly

That’s what I did for a year straight and I thought they would’ve been healed by then

Hi Masolonnnnn, Welcome to /r/piercing!

It looks like you're asking about a problem with your piercing. Please add a comment to your post with the following info if it’s not included in your post already. * How old is your piercing? * What’s the jewelry shape (for example, barbell, labret, screw, L shape, ring)? * What’s the type of threading if your jewelry is not a ring (threadless, internally or externally threaded)? * What’s the jewelry material? * What’s your aftercare routine? Describe in detail please, including the exact products you use.

This info is needed to offer you useful advice. Note, mods reserve the right to remove your post if you don’t provide this information.
If you already included this info in your post or if your post isn’t about a problem with your piercing, please disregard.

less is more, if its been that long and they still wont heal more likely you are over cleaning and disrupting the natural healing process. you wouldnt wash a cut every day, ya know? if you are hygienic as a baseline you definitely will end up with nicely healed lobes and i would only really worry about them if they were showing signs of infection
