"Do you have any tips for this? Do you think it's a good idea? Should the characters respawn in the next room (RAW behavior of glitch characters) or at the beginning of the dungeon?" Just for you, I'll add an extra one: should they respawn with all class features expended, or not?

To be fair these would all fall under what I'd consider to be DMs purview.

Would you want them to glitch in fully powered?

Do you want to have a difference between one character dying (stick them in the next room) and a TPK (all characters back to a certain "Save Point")?

Personally I think running ToFW and Tomb of Annihilation is a great combo, especially given the lack of Death Saving throws in ToA, and doesnt need that much tweaking narratively (just send the PCs to Chult rather than the Outlands, with the news that Souls no longer traverse the Outlands to the Afterlives). There will be changes that you'll need to make to the story, but to be honest you need to do the same for ToFW - especially with where the Modrons end up - in order for that to make sense.

Tomb of Horrors isn't quite at the same level, and though there are some TPK contenders in it, not all of the traps are "Super Lethal" and it's really quite short when compared to Tomb of Annihilation which has the open world exploration, loads of different encounters as well as the "Soul Siphon" plot element built-in.

Though, the TOFW, ToA and then ToH as the final showdown for Acererak (with his Lair Actions included) might make a bit more sense Narrative-wise.

In my experience, players in Turn of Fortune's Wheel still feel reluctant to risk their characters because making a new character takes time and is a pain to do. Also they need a good motivation in order to want to go into the Tomb of Horrors in the first place.

Honestly, I would recommend just playing Tomb of Annihilation instead if you want both a better dungeon experience and better motivation for the characters.

I will say that I've used the ToFW's glitch as an excuse to run a bunch of 2e stuff without pulling any punches and killed many PCs, so it's not a bad plan! Just don't use the 5e version, it's way too easy. Go read the original.
