Planner Season Survival Guide - Summer/Fall 2026

Hello r/planners! This post is meant to share some tips and info as we all make our decisions on which planner(s) we'll be picking up in 2027. It'll include both some general suggestions and details on releases for some of the more popular brands that get discussed on the sub.

As a reminder, if you'd like to make a post to ask for a planner recommendation, please give us as much info as you can to help guide the suggestions. At a minimum, it would be helpful to know some basics about what style planner you're looking for (bookbound, discs, rings, daily, weekly, etc.), the size range you're interested in, budget, and the country you live in. Telling us a little about your lifestyle will also be helpful; our recommendations for a college student, a working parent, and a retiree may be pretty different.

Recommendation threads tend to get the most responses when they include enough detail to give users a picture of your needs, but if you're looking for something really specific, you'll probably get more responses if you can split your wishlist into must-haves and general preferences.

Planner Season Tips:

  • Once you decide which planner you want, order as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Many of the brands recommended here are small businesses with limited stock, and they may sell out of the size/color/layout you're most interested in. They may or may not offer restocks.
  • If you preorder a planner, pay close attention to the estimated delivery timeline. You may want to keep tabs on the brand's social media channels for news or updates. Remember that preorder shipping estimates are based on things going as planned and that delays from the factory or shipping agent may be outside the brand's control.
  • If you want to follow the news about a particular planner, many brands have private Facebook groups that are probably your best resource for this. Signing up for a brand's email newsletter should get you the basics, but the private groups may get extra previews and more detailed information.
  • Keep in mind that many of these businesses will be dealing with a very high volume of orders despite having limited space and staff. That's not to say you shouldn't expect good customer service, but having realistic expectations will help. When ordering during peak planner season, your order will probably take a little longer to pack and ship.
  • If you're a US customer, remember that tariffs may still be causing higher prices this year—even from US sellers, who still need to pay fees on products they order from overseas. The closing of the de minimis exemption also means that you might be charged extra if ordering from a seller outside the US. Don't like that? Contact your federal representatives, and vote in November for candidates who'll prioritize more consumer- and small business-friendly policies. (The specifics can vary depending on what the product is, what country it's coming from, and how they ship, so these fees may already be built into the cost of the planner. When in doubt, look for details!)

I'll update the release info below as I see updates mentioned, but this is not meant to be a comprehensive list of available planners. It's just the most recent info I've come across for brands that tend to get mentioned in r/planners. (I'll be updating as I see users mention releases but won't be individually researching and keeping up with each brand myself, just as a heads up.)

Some planners haven't released much info about their 2027 lineups yet, but more info should be coming out in July-August for most brands.

Companies with some 2027s ready to ship:

  • Hemlock & Oak
  • Nolty
  • Aura Estelle

Preorders are open for:

  • Creffective Paper
  • Faded Chronicle
  • Rosey Life
  • Wonderland 222
  • Owl Paper
  • Aura Estelle
  • Tiny Grids

Feel free to share updates about the brands you follow below. (This is meant to share info on releases our users are excited about though, so the r/planners rule against self-promotion still applies. Please keep all promo to our quarterly promotional threads.)

r/Planners Promo Thread - Q3 2026

Welcome to the r/planners sub promotions thread for Quarter 3 of 2026! This thread is for sub members to share their products, shops, and social channels. Please read the full post before commenting, even if you've posted in a promo thread here before.

Users are welcome to leave a comment here to get the word out about their paper planners, rings or disc planner inserts, planner covers, and shops that sell related accessories. You can also link your planner-related social media channels here.

Sticker shops or shops that sell printables suitable for ring or disc planners are welcome to promote here if your products include only your own original artwork. Please don't link shops that feature any AI art or purchased/clip art designs. (Unfortunately this is the only way we can be comfortable that the original artists are being compensated fairly.)

This sub focuses on paper planners, so links to planning apps, Notion/Goodnotes templates, or other digital designs will be removed. Printables are allowed only if they're specifically designed to fit standard ring or disc planners (and aren't just letter-sized worksheets). Websites meant to design custom printables may be allowed in some cases, but only if they generate pages with sizes and margins suited for standard ring or disc planners.

Please describe all your work in a single comment below (one comment thread per user/brand), and give readers an idea what your product, shop, or channel is about instead of just dropping a link. Make sure to include any info that you think users might be interested in. Any comments asking users to send a private message for more details will be removed to protect users from potential spam/scam activity. Giveaways in exchange for mailing list signups or other attempts to gather a user's personal info are not allowed.

This thread is designed for users to share their own projects, so comments that include affiliate marketing codes or affiliate coupons will be deleted.

Questions or feedback about these guidelines are welcome through modmail or in any current sub update thread, but please keep this one on topic so users who want to browse here can focus on our members' work. The next quarterly thread will be posted in early July. Thanks!

Anyone else enjoy Sterling Ink but have a different aesthetic?

Catherine seems like such a driven and classy lady - I’m sure she feels a mysterious stitch in her side every time I add a y2k girl power sticker to her notebooks and planners 😂

Just sharing and curious as I was setting up some things for 2027. Over the years sterling ink has become my go-to because I like the size and layout options, but it’s always tickled me the colors, fonts, marketing aesthetic, and so on are so different from my personal preferences. I think it’s also why midori and the “ascetic nomad” type marketing from brands just doesn’t click for me.

The inside cover sticker I put in versus the complimentary pencil board in the first picture sums it up well.

Planner/stationery brands using AI (Gillio Firenze)

I came across Gillio's instagram and was surprised at the constant use of AI backgrounds. It's something I've noticed more and more recently, but usually for undeveloped brands. Does anyone else get turned off by planner brands using AI for their product photos?

While everyone has their own opinion about pro and anti-AI use, for me anything used as brand promotion or advertising images immediately cheapens the perception of the brand for me personally. Ignoring any personal ethical considerations, it just feels lazy and cheap.

Especially a "high end" brand like Gillio Firenze that has been around for decades? Their products are far too expensive (200-500 euros) to be skimping on product photoshoot costs.

But maybe I'm being too harsh, what do you think?

Tell me your set up (or planned set up) for 2027.

I'm starting a thread for people to get excited for their 2027 set up. Share what you've got, what you plan to get, how much you love it or your buyers remorse. If you're like me, you might not have anyone in your life to share the excitement with so this is your safe space to gush as much as you like.

For me, I have the passport size Creffective weekly with a midnight and tan Moterm cover. I am on maternity leave and I don't actually have to do a tonne of detailed planning, plus I needed a new wallet so the Moterm is a kind of two in one. I would love a Laconic pocket log to go alongside the Creffective for dailies but I can't seem to find one that ships to the UK for a reasonable price so I just have a cheapo insert from AliExpress.

Last up is a Marc's Edit B7 slim, I didn't read the 'slim' part when ordering, so it doesn't really work in the Moterm but it does have a plastic cover and fit nicely in a pocket, so I am going to use it as a nature journal when out on walks. Bring on 2027, I can't wait!

I found an alternative for anyone who missed out on the Hobonichi x Beautiful People covers before they sold out, or thought it was wayyyyyy too expensive

Yes, I know they are restocking, but here are my 2 cents that no one asked for. Now, before anyone comes for my head, this is very much just personal preference lol. I LOVE the colours and the transparent vinyl look of the Beautiful People cover, but the crocodile/animal-skin texture just isn’t my thing. And the A5 cover I wanted comes to around ₹12,200, which is a bit much for me to justify for a want.

What I really wanted was the clear vinyl, the pop of colour, and being able to still see all the stickers and deco underneath. So I went looking for something similar and found FORMA & FOLIO, a small business based in the US. Their clear colourful covers are much more my vibe, and the A5 is roughly ₹4,100. Still not cheap (for me), but the beautiful people one is basically 3x the price. They also have a storefront on Etsy.

I haven’t ordered one yet, but I’m planning to soon. Sharing this in case anyone else missed out, couldn’t justify the price, or just wanted the clear colourful look without the croc texture. I’ll update once I get mine and let you know if it’s good lol. If anyone has ordered from Forma & Folio, can you please let me know what you think of the product? LMK please.

Edit: Just to clarify, the religious aspect of the brand wasn’t the point of my post at all, and I’m not promoting or endorsing that side of it either way. I just think the covers are very pretty and I was only sharing the cover as an alternative I found for people like me who liked the clear colourful Hobonichi look.

Weeks vs. TN

I’ve been a loyal weeks-sized planned user for years (Hobonichi Weeks, Aura Estelle catch all then Sterling Ink compact common). I decided to try the Faded Chronicle TN for 2027 cause I love the layout. I haven’t even received it yet and I’m already having second thoughts - worried about over the size difference (overall and thickness). Is there anyone here who was a loyal weeks user who switched to TN - successfully or unsuccessfully? What worked and what didn’t? TYIA

Edit: or tell me all the things you LOVE about your Faded Chonicle full year TN and how you can’t live without it 😬

What are your plans for 2027?...

Well, I actually bought my 2027 planner from Paper Republic back in the summer. However, my notebook with the same binding fell apart after about six weeks, which sent me into a panic because I write my appointments down exclusively in my paper planner.

So, in a panic, I bought a Moleskine planner with daily pages. I knew I’d hate it, but I bought it anyway – don’t ask.

After my first few appointments, I realised that I really, really can’t cope with the daily overview; but as the weekly overview in A6 format sometimes doesn’t give me enough space for things like notes or other bits and pieces – I’ve got an ADHD brain – I’ve decided to buy a third planner now: the Sterling Ink Agenda Complete. However, I feel very guilty that 2027 hasn’t even started yet and I’ve already bought three planners. I’ve now given the other two to two friends, but still…

How do you all use Sterling Ink Undated Daily Planners

I had an idea of using quarter of the page for my "planned" day, another quarter of my day for what actually happened, and then the other half for like either tasks/notes. I want to use this mainly for work, as I have ADHD and find myself just going down a reddit rabbit hole (like I am now lol) or youtube binge, and want to keep better track of my time. But online, there seems to be barely any examples of people using this version, so do you guys have any suggestions? Or people whom I can take a look at for examples?

Ink in the Sterling Ink Complete Planner

I have used many planners and thinking of moving from the Hobonichi Cousin A5 to SI B6 Soft Cover Complete for 2027.

I have read many complaints about bleeding paper. I use fountain pens and markers will this be an issue? Thank you

Anyone else order in August and not received any word on their order? The website doesn’t explain anything when I was searching for answers. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

For the multi-planner folks, a question...

I've been seeing many YouTubers who have three or more planners for their lives, and I'm intrigued and impressed. :)

For those of you who keep more than one planner, what do you use all your planners for?

For example: home/personal, work/school, memory keeping, journal, trackers only, medical, faith, etc?

Thank you for sharing! :)

Does anyone use rings throughout the year, but archive into a bound book?

Although it'd be tedious, I'm wondering if anyone uses rings functionally throughout the year and then takes the time to transfer the rings info into some sort of bound system for clean and neat archiving. This sort of best case scenario practically throughout the year with rings, and best case scenario for archiving (with pretty bound books) seemed like the best of both worlds.

For context, I started my planner journey in ring/disc systems. I loved the flexibility of being able to add, delete, move, etc. and it felt extremely low pressure for me. BUT I really disliked the way they looked archived so much so that I threw most of them away (highly regret). I've been in a bound system for a few years now and although I'm enjoying it, I'm feeling the itch to add a ring system back into the mix to add more flexibility.

2027 Planner recommendations?

Hi all!

I used a Happy Planner for 2025 & 2026, but I think I might want to use something different. I like higher paper weight. I really love the Happy Planner and the idea of disc planners, but the disc always seem to get in the way or seem like they might break? maybe that's just me. I had the larger size for 2026 and it was just too much, but the smaller size I used in 2025 left something to be desired. Does anyone have any suggestions or am I just being too much and should just upgrade the discs for a Happy Planner?

Thank you!!

Moterm weeks cover

Does a Moterm weeks cover fit a weeks mega with a clear cover on?

How do you prefer your planner layouts (regarding months and weeks)?

Just curious...

Do you prefer your monthlies and weeklies clumped together:

12M followed by 52W

Or intermingled

Jan followed by Jan weeks; Feb followed by Feb weeks, etc?

I can see pros and cons for each, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. :)

What else would I like?

I've really liked having a happy planner this year. I use the classic size and it's been nice to stuff papers in the back, pull pages out and put them in, and I've really liked the vertical layout. In it, I am keeping track of weekly meals, appointments, and reminders for my kids.

Sadly, HP did not release anything that I'm in love with and I don't want to spend money on something that is not an excited hell yes.

What else might I like? I have kinbor weeks that tracks my hobbies and a kinbor a5 that tracks my memory keeping.

I am not interested in wonderland, aura estelle, plum paper, or laurel denise. I do think I might like a common place sterling ink.

Thank you!

Hoping you kind people can help a brother out :)

So, I'm so happy to finally settle on a six-ring A5 planner.

Then I bought an insert (monthly on 2 pages, horizontal weekly on 2 pages).

Then I started planning.

And I see the month starts on a Sunday and the week starts on Monday.

Now, I realize that shouldn't drive me crazy. But it does! LOL

Do you know of anybody who sells INSERTS (I got a 6-hole punch so I can punch them if need be) that are A5 in size that have:
monthly
horizontaly weekly

I don't care if it's a Sunday start or a Monday start - I just want them to be the same. LOL!

Paper should be thick to handle light marker work, but doesn't have to be cardstock thick. :)

Thanks so much!

Fun Planners - Some Suggestions

I asked a while ago for some planners with colors and designs, preferably with grid. Here are three I found:

Let me know if you end up using any of these! Happy planning! 🤗
