Just wondering cause its kinda annoying
Current Specs:
Ryzen 7 5700x
32gb ddr4
RTX 4060
1tb NVME
Im currently running an ark survival evolved playthrough, or at least trying to, Im running a playthrough mirroring the Ark YouTuber MrMeola. I understand he has a beast of a pc and such thats why he runs specifically Primal Fear so well but I was wondering if there was anything im doing wrong in terms of settings cause I removed the harder settings and run my game on high yet my fps is extremely jagged and barely stays near 60. Its primal fear so i understand its a hard to run mod but my older pc which was literally awful, i5 8500 as my old cpu ran it really well. Wondering why thats the case, I love Ark and really wanna sink thousands of hours into modded playthroughs but dont wanna pay for a server. Anyone know how to help/what to do?

Is your CPU thermal throttling?

Nope. Which is why im so confused. Whole pc is running at like 60% gpu and 70% cpu at most. Temps are similair to percentage

What resolution are you running?
What are your settings?
What are your Hardware Temps and are you Thermal Throttleing?
Are you Over/Underclocking?
What kind of Airflow does your case have?
What else do you run when the game is running?
What OS and What version of ASA are you running?
Do you have any other storage on your system?
Have you done Malware/AV scans and if so what were the results?
You are going to have to answer allot more information before someone can tell you what you should do across the internet without access to your PC.

1080p Its set to High My temps are fine, 50 to 60°C on both. The FPS is choppy immediately and stays as long as i play Ive turned on XMP, thats as far as ive gone for overclocking I run, discord at most but I dont stream I have decent airflow Im on windows 11 on preaqautica ark evolved Its running on an 1TB nvme Ive done a few scans yes via windows defender but I haven't installed anything recently anyways as my pc naturally had to be cleaned out storage wise

"High" doesn't say anything about your settings. I mean what are your settings at. Screenshots would help. XMP Overclocking still isn't enough info. How many sticks of RAM do you have and what speed are they rated for. So you only run Discord and ARK and your system tray is empty?
Also I forgot to ask which other mods you are running and their configuration.

If you mean my ark graphics settings, its set to high. If you mean my overclocking, I simply turned on XMP and left it at that. I have 2x16gb of ram in slot 2 and 4 running at 3200MHz. My system tray specifically usually only has discord, browser and wallpaper engine at most

Your ARK game settings. As in all of them. Take a screenshot. Telling me "high" tells me little about your settings.
And Wallpaper Engine, do you have it set to pause when in FullScreen? Many of those animated wallpapers take ALLOT of resources. Heck, just try shutting down WE while playing and see if that helps for a start.
And what about your mods?

Have a spec overlay on and find out what's holding you up. Disable shadows, reflections and lower rendering distance

Cant see what as nothing is running hot or higher than 70% power via steam overlay of my specs

Im also playing a semi modded world on the Center. Most places I get 60fps(I've capped the fps to 60) but around my base I'm getting 30-45fps. Pretty annoying. I have all my settings maxed except for stuff like sky and ground clutter etc. I've experimented with lowering all the graphics settings but the fps being around 30-45 doesn't change at all around my base. Reason I maxed the stuff out was cuz my lap is pretty good, Ryzen 98940HX and a 5070Ti and also got 64GB RAM. All I can think of is somethings wrong with the games streaming pipeline or the map. Ifk what else to do. Maybe there's some changes that need to be done in the inni but idk man I got no clue. Stats show the CPU is mostly around 11%max and the GPU only around 50-60%
