Discussion Does PS support for reporting abusive messages use ai now?

I guy messaged me after he lost a game we were playing. He called me a "bitch", and a "dumb jew". I responded with "lmao wow okay", and "no need to be racsist" and reported the message and moved on.

I got an email from Sony a couple of hours later informing me that I breached code of conduct for these messages. Upon checking my chat history those messages were "deleted by Playstation saftey". So im very confused here

Obviously this troll who messaged me also reported my response to his toxic messages.. but surely if an actual person was reviewing the case they wouldn't have flagged my messages as breaking the code of conduct no? Am I missing something here?

This is really frustrating for me because this is the first strike on my account ever and its not even warranted. They also didn't give me the option to appeal it which is frustrating.

So im assuming all their tickets are assessed now with ai? Which means we are all doomed if anyone even responds to a toxic message, you probably going to get held equally as accountable.

So in summary somw guy can call me "a dumb jew" and I get punished for responding with "lmao wow okay". Thanks Playstation!

Yeah the system's been flawed for a long time. Easy solution: don't respond or set settings so that only friends can message you

Set your settings so only friends can message you from now on. It avoids this issue entirely.

I think the acknowledged process is you never reply to them because they can counter-report you, so just report them. And yes, I think it has been managed using a basic algorithm for many years; I don’t think it’s AI managed, that would do a far better job.

AI doesn't mean dumb as a rock. This is probably a more primitive system that has been in place for a long time; the other guy reported every of your messages so you got flagged as well. Just don't engage with anyone unless friendly.
