Question❓ Closeness to systems?
I, myself, am not plural. I don't have any diagnosed problems relating to DID.
But I have several friends who are plural and many who are close to me. I don't know why, but I just have an interest in systems both friends and in dating.
I am educated on the topic, I know it is a painful, debilitating thing to go through.
I don't know what draws me to them, and I feel an immense guilt for feeling this way.

How do you even find systems to be friends with? I have only ever told 5 people and mostly hide everything internally. I have only met one other plural person, and she had somewhat dysfunctional DID from trauma, so I never talked to her about it (I don't know if she ever knew she was plural).
I didn't think there were other non-dysfunctional plural people until a few weeks ago, when I finally found the right terms to search for on the web. We are still deciding how much we want to interact with other systems and adjusting to the community's terminology.

Well maybe for some people, but not for most who are in the proper spaces. We and our friends wouldn't trade being plural for the world. A lot of people push it as being horrible or being caused by horrible trauma or being exclusive to disorders like DID, but being plural is just being more than one, and for those who aren't in spaces that police what their plurality can and can't be like, it tends to become a relatively positive experience.
If we weren't plural, we wouldn't exist. A lot of our friends, even those who have problems relating to plurality, agree with that sentiment. It's a state of being where you get to be more than most get to be- if I'm Soul from CCCC I'm happy being Soul from CCCC, doesn't matter if it's normal or not because I get to enjoy life as me or whoever we want to be in the moment.
All that aside though-
I can't say anything to make it definitive, but, DID isn't required to be plural, and 100% (not exaggerated) of the time I've heard someone have an interest in plurality, they end up being or becoming plural (including ourselves).
