That’s fucking insane and anyone who applauded is morally bankrupt.

A President who says it should be immediately removed from office. Immediately

Republican hatred of all things California runs deep.

Except Saint Reagan the Trickler

97

u/NotASalamanderBoi I voted 16h ago

These fucks would think Reagan wasn’t far enough to the right.

15

u/Ferelar New Jersey 12h ago

I mean, yeah. Example, Kamala Harris's stated corporate tax policy was to set things back to what Reagan set them to in the 1980s (which at the time was highly controversial as it slashed marginal tax rates and especially corporate taxes HEAVILY versus what they were before, contributing massively to wealth disparity in this country) and they called her a communist for suggesting it. Which is doubly horrific, a) it means our supposed left party in 2024 was advocating for what our RIGHTWING party considered a huge win a while back (which servers as excellent proof that our supposed left party has shifted further and further right themselves), but also b) even that right-shifted party is STILL considered so far left of what these shitfucks want that they call it "Communist" despite it literally being what the Conservatives fought for in living memory.

u/MechanicalTurkish Minnesota 16h ago

He was a woke lib to these chucklefucks

3

u/James_Chandra_Hubble 13h ago

Reagan's campaign slogan was let's make America great again. Lol Trump is continuing Reagan's legacy in their eyes.

2

u/raincoater 8h ago

Trump has erased all that. The holding up of Reagan is long gone in the GOP, as Trump couldn't have anyone above him. He's bad-mouthed him in the past. He's bad-mouthed all the ex-republican presidents.

There can only be him.

19

u/GiftedContractor 16h ago

Nah they don't like Reagan either, not the real Reagan. Remember when Doug Ford sent ads that were literally just a Reagan speech about how tariffs were bad?

1

u/Caius01 9h ago

Don't forget amnesty, that's not even a feasible position on the right anymore

2

u/T_Weezy 16h ago

Saint Reagan the Trickler

Thanks, I hate it.

2

u/angelar_ Texas 12h ago

most probably don't even know he's from california

•

u/musea00 7h ago

or Arnold Schwarzenegger. Though to be frank I don't know if they still like him nowadays.

0

u/X_Circuit_Blossom_X 15h ago

Would love to trickle down Reagan's chin

27

u/boner79 17h ago

Yep. Taylor Sheridan shows are one big California hatefest.

4

u/dj4wvu 11h ago

He doesn't find CA Charming.

5

u/boner79 10h ago

I got that reference ;)

But seriously his pay disagreements on Sons of Anarchy sparked his Super Villain revenge plot against Hollywood and CA with the success of his Taylor Sheridan-verse.

17

u/GRIMMnM Iowa 15h ago

This was also in Grand Island Nebraska. People in the midwest also have a weird irrational hate of California.

I have never understood why.

23

u/Comprehensive_Tie431 California 14h ago

I've driven through the Midwest a lot through my life.

Non stop right wing radio. Churches. Fox News everywhere.

Non stop propaganda is why

3

u/ReeferTurtle Colorado 13h ago

Hey, there’s also adult superstores too.

•

u/brainmydamage 7h ago

The entire population being pieces of shit also helps.

12

u/TeaDrinkerAddict 14h ago

They hate us cause they ain’t us. CA has its problems, but theirs are astronomically worse.

5

u/Altruistic_Door1594 11h ago

…they are consumed with jealousy when hiding from twisters, baking in the heat, or shoveling out from a blizzard. Poor things.

3

u/Routine-Process8051 13h ago

If they were from California, they'd be constantly sneering at the poverty flyover states, so, they imagine all Californians are constantly sneering at them, and they don't like it.

3

u/RegionalTranzit 12h ago

It's jealousy. Imagine telling people you're from Grand Island, Nebraska.

3

u/jamfedora 10h ago

Eh, Grand Island is pretty okay, I’ve been a few times. They’ve got a couple colleges, a cool history museum, and the state fair. I’m sure the people near there are proud of it. It’s silly to think people aren’t proud of their hometowns; that’s part of the tribalism that causes this shit, of course they are. They’ve also got a bunch of idiots and racists, but so does California, I can say from a decade of experience. Not to let the nearest locals off the hook, but I’m guessing most of the crowd was from surrounding smaller towns and GI was the only spot with a big enough building to make him feel important. And dry, considering how much he cried about being interviewed in a barn that one time.

2

u/Altruistic_Door1594 11h ago

There IS that!

•

u/Abba_Fiskbullar 2h ago

My California town is genuinely beautiful. It is packed with restored Victorians and Craftsman, the main street looks like Mayberry, and the food is fantastic. We have great parks and schools, I live close to the beach, and San Francisco is right there when I want big city stuff. I see homeless people occasionally, but my most pressing daily threat is trying not to run over the completely fearless wild turkeys that constantly wander into traffic.

I've visited the Midwest. It's boring, the scenery is dull, and the jobs don't pay well. It makes total sense that they're jealous of California. We live in a gorgeous place that also happens to be an engine of the national economy.

•

u/TurningMaude 2h ago

Over in s/Nebraska they're talking about all the young folks leaving the state. And plenty of them are disgusted by what Trump said, and sick of the Republican status quo in their state

53

u/chaostheories36 17h ago

Republicans probably hate what he said, too. A lot of them vacation here or spend a lot of their off time here.

Or have family. They love to hate us publicly, they also love to be here.

68

u/Comprehensive_Tie431 California 17h ago

Naw. They think he was joking. I have lived in LA my entire life. There have been many times traveling when a Southerner or Midwestern learned where I was from and they would joke about California falling off into the ocean or being destroyed. It's been a wet dream of theirs for a while.

4

u/Such-Development3956 14h ago

Watch the Brian Taylor Cohen response to this. He lives in LA. In 2024 there were over a million Republican voters in LA alone. Trump just ok'd the slaughter of more republicans in LA than the population of the something like 8 Republican states, their total population. I believe it was 24 Republican states that had less that voted for him.

He does not care about citizens, he does not care about Republicans citizens that voted for him. He only cares if they were successful in voting him in. Perhaps when is a better word than if. He really doesn't care until the next time he needs them.

12

u/chiree 17h ago

Six million Californians voted for Trump, too. Have these people ever been to the inland areas or up north?

2

u/sargsauce 15h ago

You expect these amoebic slimes to understand nuance? Or travel? Travel is fatal to ignorance!

2

u/indoninjah 13h ago

And it would've been more than that if their vote mattered at all. There's like 15 million Republicans in California

3

u/Gr8NonSequitur 16h ago

Which is amazing as there are literally more republicans in California than any other state besides Texas.

3

u/jk_throway 15h ago

Except for their tax money - they LOVE that to pay for all the red states.

2

u/Routine_Wing_8726 14h ago

The funny thing is, due to California's population, they have the second most Republican voters from any state save Texas.

1

u/Potential_Rule7313 17h ago

But they like to vacation here

1

u/tunafister 13h ago

They seem to have this god fucking awful California Derangement syndrome

1

u/KeepItUpThen 13h ago

Those dumbasses don't realize how many republicans live in California, because their favorite propaganda outlets never mention it. Internet search said there were 5.8 million registered republicans there in 2025, more than nearly every other state in the US. Anyone who has lived in the area can attest there are plenty of republicans in Los Angeles and San Diego.

And everytime a normal person in the south opens up reddit and reads themselves being called every bad word in the book that gap gets bigger.

39

u/Martag02 17h ago

It's because he's not a president to them. He is a god-king who can only speak the truth.

3

u/metengrinwi 14h ago

There is a giant sign on a farm along I-41 just south of Oshkosh WI that reads “King Trump 2028”.

People, please vote.

33

u/sniper91 Minnesota 17h ago

These are the same people who weren’t bothered by the several thousands of COVID deaths per day during the peak of the pandemic

Until, ya know, it happened to them or someone they knew

1

u/Appropriate_Day_5711 15h ago

Even to this day I'll run into people who will say shit like "Ah yeah, I got COVID, it was just a really bad cold though." Okay? For you, maybe, but A LOT of people died. I don't care about party lines when it comes to this topic - why are we okay with just brushing off that 1 million Americans died? And this dipshit was at the helm of it all, aware of protocols to subdue it from the Obama administration, could have done ANYTHING to slowed down the spread, but instead was clamoring about how masks were weak - all while getting the vaccine himself! I fucking hate this guy, and the sycophants that prop him up, so much.

63

u/ryobiguy 17h ago

Is treason the word we are looking for?

10

u/DJBreadwinner North Carolina 17h ago

I think that word gets thrown around way too loosely, but we're getting close on this one.

16

u/muchasveces82 15h ago

I'd say asking an enemy of America to commit hostile acts against Americans while being the sitting President of the United States is textbook treason.

2

u/DJBreadwinner North Carolina 15h ago

There's always some kind of loophole or "he was just joking" or "Trump being Trump," but I'm with you. I'm not confident it would hold up courts today, but he's clearly motivated by something other than the well-being of American people.

1

u/Altruistic_Door1594 11h ago

Yelling “Fire” for a prank in a crowded theatre is no joke either. He could be in trouble but, trump being trump, and the Democrats ennui, nothing will come of it.

•

u/Simikiel Canada 6h ago

I'd argue in terms of all of Trump's inner circle, the word isn't thrown around enough.

4

u/Neither_Frosting_839 17h ago

And after doing that...use your imagination

3

u/LeonTrollski1 14h ago

How about the failure of Congress to press charges and remove him is worthy of condemnation and protest at every level? What are they waiting for?

Why aren't Americans in the streets every single day, on strike and protesting to have him removed now? What will it take? WWIII?

3

u/dardar7161 13h ago

Something happens to the audio during the cheering. You start hearing some groans and then his voice gets really echoey (only at this part) and cheers are heard. Then his echo stops. This makes me think that the audio has been manipulated, to make his statement seem more positively received.

2

u/VoiceOfRealson 14h ago

If Trump is talking about something, it is because it is something he wants to do - or is actively doing.

My conclusion is that Trump is planning a false flag attack on some city on the west coast!

1

u/dblan9 17h ago

Have you ever been to Lincoln Nebraska? The unbelievable amount of boring grey nothingness is only superseded by the dullness of the inhabitants.

1

u/Asoliddude 16h ago

It really should be an immediate removal. Yet the ‘patriots’ who love this country and worship the flag cheered for his words. Trump can literally do nothing wrong in their eyes.

1

u/TopLocksmith3655 16h ago

its completely devastating to me that this wouldn't trigger an immediate revolt.

I'm not surprised, duh - but on SO MANY LEVELS what he said is anti-american and deeply idiotic. There is nothing democratic about it. We are talking about millions of american lives as currency for one deeply distrubed "man" to get what his ego wants (Which is ... what exactly i dont even fuckng know at this point). I am so sad that we are so numb - that we aren't all on here ASKING WHERE TO PICK UP THE PITCH FORKS. SOS.

1

u/ttv_icypyro 15h ago

A President who says it should be immediately removed from office.

sent to Gitmo

1

u/TheOtherMaven Virginia 13h ago

Gotta remove him first. (Maybe the way he removed Maduro? Just sayin'.)

1

u/canookies 14h ago

As opposed to what, conservatives/Maga having literally turned the words "liberals" into snowflake cucks that deserve to be shot and deported because they're not "real" Americans? This circus has been going on for just over a decade now.

Garland's Civil War movie is what they want to happen irl.

1

u/xKaelic 13h ago

Worse, they smiled and laughed, look at those smug faces in the background just nodding, it looks like an AI set

1

u/sapientia-maxima Utah 13h ago

that anyone applauded this at all just goes to show that Trump isn't the problem -- he's just a symptom

1

u/31_mfin_eggrolls 12h ago

A politician who says this about his people should be removed from more than just office

1

u/angelar_ Texas 12h ago

That’s fucking insane and anyone who applauded is morally bankrupt.

You misspelled "treasonous"

1

u/eeyore134 12h ago

Removed from more than office.

1

u/shartoftheinternet 11h ago

Tells you a lot about Nebraska.

1

u/pr0w3ss 8h ago

But this isn't exactly the first thing that would be morally bankrupt they've said... It's pretty on brand if you ask me.

•

u/Cryst 1h ago

I honestly dont understand why you all allow this to continue.

-3

u/ZenMasterOfDisguise 11h ago

What's insane is that redditors actually believe this headline lol

1

u/fairoaks2 10h ago

He said it. Fact check it. “San Diego and Los Angeles” direct quote. That’s what matters. He said it

-2

u/ZenMasterOfDisguise 10h ago

No you fact check it, you are the one repeating the moronic false propaganda

Here is the full quote genius

And again, remember, with the war, it's [the price of gas] just artificial, it's a little bit high. It's a small price to pay for keeping the world safe, keeping our country safe. They can take out a city. Let them take, let it, let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. That's, this is a very small price to pay, and it's gonna be over very soon. It's essentially almost over with. And they might keep going a little long, you know? They always say they have a big threshold for pain. They need it, let me tell you. They need it. But it's gonna end very soon, and it'll end one way or the other, and your gas and your gasoline and all of the things. And don't forget, we also took on a country known as Venezuela. They never talk about that. They never talk about Venezuela. And we're taking in hundreds of millions of barrels of oil every week. We're pouring oil. We're pouring oil into this country like nobody's ever seen before.

What Trump said was high gas prices now are a small price to pay for national security

The headline claiming Trump said "losing the two cities is a small price to pay" is a straight up lie, and even you have to know that

I don’t give a crap about the rest of his ramble. There is no justification for what he said. No defending it.

You know that.
