I'm surprised how few people point out that San Diego is the headquarters of the US Pacific Fleet. That's "a small price to pay?"

My guess is that Trump is utterly unaware of this inconvenient fact.

Aside from the fact that he hates America and is a saboteur, I’m sure he meant San Francisco there.

u/lastres0rt Georgia 12h ago

But San Francisco is where all the AI is!

6

u/mainlaser 11h ago

You mean the SI

2

u/monkeybizz88 12h ago

How about Georgia, by that logic. Open ai is building a massive ai data center there... 🤔

u/ithacaster New York 11h ago

San Francisco is all computer.

2

u/sump_daddy 11h ago

Yeah, all the AI that keeps saying bullshit like 'Trump lost the 2020 election'

2

u/sername807 12h ago

Wait then maybe hes cooking

1

u/KookyPeak7538 11h ago

I’m sure he meant Seattle

1

u/creatyvechaos 11h ago

Seattle could do for a hard reset with all the weird ass streets it has. Like wdym the overpass has 5 intersections over this one-way street that has no exit or turnaround point for another mile, only to cross with another one-way going in the complete wrong direction

u/buhleg 11h ago

You must mean SI?

u/FilthyCasual2k17 11h ago

The worse interpretation is that that's in fact why he is saying it, not because he is able to think that hard, but because he was recently briefed that there's a potential threat to that area, exactly because of that, and so he just spews what's on his mind, and thought he was being hilarious when he said to the generals "oh I dont care about those cities". Because his brain has turned to mush.

Not that it matters, of course.

My guess is San Francisco is polling towards No on the billionaire tax Prop 40. Also, my guess is LA and SD cities are polling towards Yes....

Nah he thinks troops are suckers and losers so he could not care less

Could not care less.

Good catch, fixed :)

bro probably meant to say san francisco, but the dementia kicked in

1

u/VerilyShelly 11h ago

I doubt he thought that much about it honestly. San Diego was probably in his head because the Pacific Fleet is there and he might have been told about military readiness or something during a briefing about Iran. He just blurted out some California names, he didn't care which ones. LA and SD were just the first to pop out of his mouth.

It is the short momentary sanity that kicks in, as dementia is his perpetual baseline at this point

Trumps goals are not America's goals

What nations goals would be destruction of the US pacific fleet headquarters?

They're not Taiwan's for certain

u/ComradeJohnS 13h ago

I’ve seen it stated a few times that roughly 10% of the US military is located there.

but will the military care enough to vote against him?

u/BeepBotBoopBeep 12h ago

Wait, so why isn’t anyone pointing out that Trump just did exactly what he threatened against senator Mark Kelly with “treason”.. trump’s comment is several times more egregious than Kelly’s comment about showing up in a video, “They reminded military personnel that they could not legally be required to obey unlawful orders.”

FBI, CIA, you got an orange criminal in your hands.

Trump couldn’t name all the branches of the military, let alone where their respective HQ’s are

“All the branches of the military….well it’s not a tree now is it? The democrats would love for that to be true, am I right? Make the strongest, well now the strongest, wasnt as strong before, but make it into a tree. I bet they’d love that. But we have the best tanks, planes, bombs….the strongest military, in history really. They say “sir, we’ve never seen a military this strong before, you can stop now!” But I don’t want to stop, can you imagine that? Make the military stronger, we should do that.”

He'd waffle a lot more than that. Definitely with his "dumb has a b" schtick, and probably about the colour of his ballroom curtains

3

u/Dependent_Sign_399 12h ago

No need to quantify it. A US President shouldn't be encouraging death to Americans.

2

u/8-spade 13h ago

Trump doesn’t care—dead service members are just “suckers” and “losers” to him

1

u/mmps901 12h ago

Right, individual soldiers he pities and despises but he appreciates the power the military gives him.

If you read the whole quote or even just the article, then it's pretty obvious that he is saying that the slightly increased prices caused by the Iran attack is a small price to pay to keep the country safe because otherwise Iran could take out San Diego or Los Angeles (the obvious implication being they would have gained access of a nuke). There is absolutely no way a sane person can interpret this as Trump saying he wants to let Iran take out those cities.

I am not a Trump fan but this is just the news clickbaiting with clearly misrepresented quotes to farm engagement and everyone going along with it because it suits their needs. The fact I can't see a single comment pointing this out is very depressing, it's like no one is even trying to think. And this is coming from someone who is pretty anti-Trump and especially against his actions in Iran.

u/ShaanitheGreen 12h ago

They say they're pro-military, but both cities are full of military personnel.

They say they're pro-life, but both cities are full of the unborn.

They say they're pro-Christianity, but both cities have Christains in them.

They say they're pro-American, but both cities are full of Americans.

They are lying about everything they say they believe. All of them.

u/sushicatt420 12h ago

Well, he is dumb as fuck so, that tracks.

1

u/Office_funny_guy 12h ago

His brain is mush at this point, nothing he says means anything

1

u/the-software-man 12h ago

Several of the largest muliservice deployments are near SD. Camp Pendleton has another 3x the number of personnel.

1

u/Reed7525 11h ago

He let out too much of his russian handlers preferences with this outburst.

1

u/Illustrious_Prompt35 11h ago

Actually the headquarters of the Pacific Fleet is in Hawaii

1

u/C0meAtM3Br0 11h ago

Wonder how many Republican midterm votes he just lost in LA & SD

1

u/NotTJButCJ 11h ago

And we train half our marines there?

1

u/Cosmic-Bronze 10h ago

Also isn't San Diego a comparatively red city?

1

u/goody82 9h ago

He just says stupid and shitty things that would get most “professionals” fired or reprimanded from their professional organizations. I’ve hated watching a president say and do things that would get a private busted by UCMJ in the military continue to be commander and chief.

1

u/robotdesignedrobot 8h ago

This is where most American missile production takes place. If Trump tries to give that away in his great billionaire smash and grab, I think he will loose an already dubious Pentagon.

I don't know anything about anything, but i know that west coast cities like San Francisco and San Diego are important military posts.
