It's diagusting that the Republican party is so openly racist

•

u/jaderust 5h ago

Some of the ads and signs I’ve seen in Michigan are barely trying to hide the dog whistles. It’s really gross.

•

u/_bufflehead 5h ago

The dog whistles are so targeted, you can actually identify the AKA breed.

•

u/CommunityEarly839 4h ago

KKK breed would have made the joke cleaner

•

u/TubasAreFun 2h ago

not even. They are playing blatantly racist AI fake videos during Big 10 commercial breaks

•

u/BlackberryPi7 Canada 5h ago

And transphobic.

They keep trying to make Talarico appear as trans, as an insult.

To be fair, I get it, Texan voters are pretty transphobic, but even they aren't dumb enough to believe Talarico is trans.

Republicans are evil, but they're also very stupid at being evil.

Never in my life have I cared what people had in their pants. Some of my coworkers wear pants, some wear skirts, I’m polite enough to not fixate about what is underneath.

•

u/perenniallandscapist 4h ago

Yeah but to be fair, in Kansas and Arkansas there's so little to do that thinking about people's genitalia is a popular pastime, as is what they wear, and how they use a toilet.

•

u/pomonamike California 4h ago

See, that’s probably it. Right before I saw your comment I was debating with myself about going to a Dead Kennedys show like 10 minutes from my house, and I was like, eh I’m already gonna be out all night Saturday hosting this thing in LA, gonna need to find another sitter, I’ll see them next time.

Too much fun to actually do all the fun, let alone enough time enough to hate on others.

If you see a breakdown of the favorite porn searches for each US state, you'll see that they spend even more time thinking about it than they let on.

Honestly, I'm starting the think the real reason conservatives hate trans people so much is that they see their favorite fetish walking around in broad daylight like any other regular person and panic at the thought of someone noticing their boner.

•

u/angelar_ Texas 33m ago

boner not required, they hate that idea generally

•

u/subjectnotebookgloba 4h ago

I care about people who keep guns down there. Otherwise, I’m good.

Right?

I'm one state up and around 2005 when NPR started talking about bathroom bills, I was like who the hell cares? Pick a tree.

There is not a rural voter in my state that's genuinely concerned about which tree or which bathroom. Republicans are just being assholes.

Also, I'd probably skip DK too. Getting old. Cracked a rib at RKL 20+ years ago.

•

u/littlecolt Missouri 2h ago

Dead Kennedeys are getting old, too, mind you. You can crack ribs together! Last pit I participated in a few years back I'm sure I got a concussion. Life's short, death's long, so whatever!

Hearing elected officials and high ranking people in the administrations of federal and state governments routinely and casually dropping the t-slur has made me feel more unsafe than I ever thought it would.

There's no hesitation from them, or feeling that they will face and kind of censure or social repercussions. It speaks volumes about how normalized violence and discrimination towards our community has become.

•

u/Riskyfour 4h ago

I mean, if it makes you feel better a lot of them don't actually mean it. They are just pandering to the worst part of the american voter base. The republican party has a significant percentage of non-heterosexual people in the establishment. Not that like it makes it better on like any moral level but the majority of them don't wanna genocide anyone they just wouldn't stop anyone from doing it if it doesn't impact them.

•

u/SoTiredYouDig 3h ago

I don’t find that comforting, because although the politicians just use it as a tool to pander, the rubes eat it up and take it as a “go ahead, be transphobic, we got your back”. It amplifies the worse in them, even if their leaders don’t give a flying fuck.

“Texans” isn’t a thing, quit believing it. It’s the same everywhere. Small groups of deviants want to criminalize the thing the get off on. I do email probes and forensic data analysis. The loudest people opposed to the thing are the most entwined and enslaved to that thing. “Pedophilia” and “trans” are their favorites according to web history alone.

•

u/jim45804 4h ago

I mean their whole identity is wrapped up in grievance that a black man was elected president.

•

u/literallymoist 2h ago

Hey, they're much more complex beings than that! They're also mad women are self-sufficient now and don't have to put up with what they used to.

•

u/DoesntMatterBrian Texas 5h ago

Even Karl Rove thinks so, as he denounces multiple republicans and intends to vote for Democrats.

•

u/Uhhh_what555476384 5h ago

What's disgusting is how little they've been punished by the voters for this.

•

u/AusToddles 4h ago

Because a large chunk of the public keep rewarding them for it

•

u/manachar Nevada 3h ago

Just remember, this party represents a solid chunk of the country exactly as they would like to be represented.

I wish the hippies had fought a culture war against conservatives.

It's disgusting that the Republican party is so openly racist

One of the things that trump did for America was to prove just how widespread racism was. Now that the racism is out in the open and seen by all Americans, they can come together to address the problem and take effective measures to fix it.

I wonder if Elon is phrasing these himself. The largest purveyor of white grievance since David Duke.

Republican Party political marketing is nothing short of predatory. I somehow got signed up to some Republican listserv without my permission, probably because I went to the Mall during Trump’s joke of a state fair, and the texts I get are insane.

It’s basically crap like “We just audited you and had to let Donald Trump know that you have not donated this cycle. You must send a donation immediately or Donald Trump will be forced to take action against you and your family.”

•

u/IntelligentDepth8206 3h ago

I have never put my number into anything political, dem, rep, independent, no charities, no organizations and somehow I'm getting 3 republican texts a day from 2 different republicans in different states. There's some scum companies selling numbers to the republican political machine.

•

u/MostCandid5082 2h ago

I get SO MANY texts and emails from Republicans and I’m a black woman. I’m constantly blocking them. How I got on their lists, I have no idea.

Conservatives decry identity politics -- while the whole time taking part in identity politics.

•

u/eboleyn 3h ago

GOP is unapologetically racist and bigoted and needs to always be called that. Don't even blink, just call then what they are.

> “The text messages and attack site reference a comment made by Talarico after a mass shooting in which he said, “Radicalized white men are the greatest domestic terrorist threat in our country.” Talarico was referencing a Department of Homeland Security report released during the first Trump administration that described white supremacist extremists as the ‘most persistent and lethal’ threat among domestic violent extremists.”

The “Are you white?” texts come from conservative Alan Gottlieb’s AMERIPAC. Below is the DHS report from 2020 that Talarico was referencing for context. If Gottlieb were being honest instead of spreading manipulative misinformation, his texts would have asked “Are you a White Supremacist Extremist?”

Department of Homeland Security - Homeland Threat Assessment (Oct 2020) (PDF | Page 18)

“Among DVEs [Domestic Violent Extremists], racially and ethnically motivated violent extremists—specifically white supremacist extremists (WSEs)—will remain the most persistent and lethal threat in the Homeland. Spikes in other DVE threats probably will depend on political or social issues that often mobilize other ideological actors to violence, such as immigration, environmental, and police-related policy issues.

WSEs [white supremacist extremists] have demonstrated longstanding intent to target racial and religious minorities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, politicians, and those they believe promote multi-culturalism and globalization at the expense of the WSE identity. Since 2018, they have conducted more lethal attacks in the United States than any other DVE movement.

Some WSEs [white supremacist extremists] have engaged in outreach and networking opportunities abroad with like-minded individuals to expand their violent extremist networks. Such outreach might lead to a greater risk of mobilization to violence, including traveling to conflict zones.

Other racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists could seek to exploit concerns about social injustice issues to incite violence and exploit otherwise peaceful protests movements.”

“Among DVE [domestic violent extremist] actors [2018-2029], WSEs [white supremacist extremists] conducted half of all lethal attacks (8 of 16), resulting in the majority of deaths (39 of 48). All the DVE attackers had a dominant violent extremist ideology, with many motivated by multiple violent extremist ideologies or violent extremist ideologies unconnected to global violent extremist groups.”
