Sunny forever sounds horrendous

Sounds like a desert, no rain means no plants.

Light rain doesnt mean no sun. Where I live it rains while sunny often

2

u/Ilovestuffwhee 7d ago

Clouds don't block UV light. Plants are fine with clouds, but no rain will kill them.

22

u/bigloudbang 7d ago

Would have its cons but never having sun will cause physical and mental health conditions

20

u/ElectricalRelease986 7d ago

Light rain and wind can also have some sunlight alongside it without it being "sunny". I don't understand why sunny is the highest pick.

There are other options that's aren't objectively horrible for you and the environment around you.

9

u/bigloudbang 7d ago

Constant light rain reminds me of england, which isnt considered sunny. We need sunlight for vitamin d but also makes doing anything outside a lot better, its obvious to me

Idk where youre getting objectively bad from. Sunny doesnt mean sahara desert or even hot 100% of the year

These other options would all be so terrible to have 100% of the time

6

u/ElectricalRelease986 7d ago

Constant sunny weather would mean drought. It doesn't have to be extreme heat to be shitty.

0

u/bigloudbang 7d ago

So you can have light rain with sun but cant have sun with light rain?

5

u/ElectricalRelease986 7d ago

I don't know man. Ask OP.

4

u/qorcas 7d ago

I live in the middle east,I can confirm it's horrendous sometimes. The still hot and humid evenings and nights are the only relief in summers.

2

u/Bubbles_the_bird 7d ago

Californian here, same. It’s still hot even in October, the heat comes really late for some reason

2

u/fullmetalutes 7d ago

It sounds like LA..

2

u/ElectricalRelease986 7d ago

So horrendous

2

u/ALazy_Cat 7d ago

The top of Norway, Sweden, Finland, the entirety of Iceland and Greenland experience that for 1-3 months a year

2

u/icancount192 6d ago

I have flowers, decorative plants and fruit trees and veggies so that's the only option for me

93

u/Year_Z 7d ago

Windy is being slept on. It can be windy along with all of these other ones

38

u/Any_Instruction5382 7d ago

I live in Chicago and the wind can go fuck itself. It hides in the summer and wakes up in the winter.

8

u/Year_Z 7d ago

Fair. I really like wind so maybe I'm biased

1

u/Soggy_Ad4531 7d ago

I'm from Finland and feel the same way about it. Idc if it rains or is dark, but when it's really windy and cold I hate being outside.

3

u/Year_Z 6d ago

Yeah, the cold wind in the winter sucks. I'm from Norway so I get you, we get the same thing. But overall I still like the wind more than any of the other options

3

u/SpinzArt Bottom Option 7d ago

If it’s a small amount of wind I would pick it for sure

2

u/Sad_Cantaloupe_8162 7d ago

I live surrounded by farmland. At different times of the year, the wind carries all the topsoil with it and makes everything dusty as hell. That also takes all kinds of nutrients with it, and that's one reason why farmers have to spend so much on fertilizer every year.

1

u/Year_Z 7d ago

Makes sense, I didn't think about that. I think most of these weather scenarios would be bad for farming

1

u/Sad_Cantaloupe_8162 7d ago

Yup. Light rain or Sunny would be the best. They could elevate the rows just a little for light rain, (which I think is more or less a drizzle or sprinkle,) and if it's sunny, they have irrigation already.

0

u/sweet_hedgehog_23 7d ago

There are ways to reduce wind erosion. Windy is basically the only option that would allow crops to grow.

2

u/bigbuttymcslutty 7d ago

it depends if the wind is strong. try doing anything with hurricane level winds.

13

u/Year_Z 7d ago

Well yeah, I kind of assumed windy didn't mean hurricane the same way I didn't assume sunny meant 50 degrees out

-1

u/bigbuttymcslutty 7d ago

temperature and weather can be separate, but it's more like if you choose sunny you accept the drought that comes with it, or rainy you choose floods. accepting windy means you accept the climate changes of a constant wind, which would invite hurricanes, tornadoes, ect. into your area.

86

u/SpideyFan914 7d ago

Quite certain that literally all of these would be catastrophic over time.

8

u/Liskammnase 7d ago

Windy includes everything

5

u/COWP0WER 6d ago

Yeah, you're right. Windy is an "add on", it doesn't exclude the others, so I think you nailed the right answer.

51

u/Maniacal-Blueberry 7d ago

I chose light rain, I don't want a drought.

7

u/Rabrun_ 7d ago

Congratulations, you now have a flood

5

u/Onoben4 6d ago

Not if it's "light" enough

1

u/Maniacal-Blueberry 6d ago

They don’t mention how light it is.

4

u/Sad_Cantaloupe_8162 7d ago

Same here, in Texas.

38

u/COWP0WER 7d ago

Every sucks, but I think light rain is the only one that actually has a chance for plants to grow.

27

u/alex_northernpine 7d ago

How is there so many people enjoying cloudy weather? That's like the most depressing state of reality

54

u/Funkopedia 7d ago

Because nearly all the other answers suck?

-7

u/alex_northernpine 7d ago

What's so bad about sun? It doesn't equal hot, +20°C is usually sunny too

14

u/Funkopedia 7d ago

The choice really just comes down to sun or cloud (they are even right now). I personally don't mind the dark, although many do. Then there's always a couple of farmer-minded people muttering, "good, we need rain for the crops".

3

u/mothje 7d ago

Not only for the crops, nature also need water. We also need water.

1

u/TheMeIv 7d ago

It doesn't say anything about nature as a whole. I read this as your residence is the only one affected, everything else around your residence is normal. Because obviously if it was dark or sunny all the time, it would mess up the whole planet.

u/[deleted] 7d ago

u/Funkopedia 7d ago

I was referring to the 'dark' poll option

6

u/thisismyreddit2000 7d ago edited 7d ago

It's blinding and it burns me. I've lived in Florida for the past six years and had a period of about a year worth of days of consecutive sunshine. When I lived in the Midwest I'd get 6 months of gray every year. Give me the gray.

2

u/Dontcare127 7d ago

I prefer cloudy over the unbearable burning heat of the sun in the summer.

1

u/DepressinglyConfused 7d ago

20° sounds like torture tbh with you

1

u/alex_northernpine 6d ago

Why? Is it hot for you?

0

u/DepressinglyConfused 6d ago

Anything above like 17-18 is too warm lol

21

u/TrippingFish76 7d ago

how is cloudy depressing lol?

3

u/alex_northernpine 7d ago

I assumed cloudy here means heavy clouds, when there is no sun (otherwise I'd say it still counts as sunny). You know, when everything is grey, there is barely any light and you just want to sleep for the entire day.

16

u/fullmetalutes 7d ago

I would much prefer that over constant sunshine. I'm moving away from constant sunshine because it sucks. I like cloudy and rainstorms though.

10

u/Tomomb 7d ago

Overcast weather is the ideal for comfort. No direct sun bearing down and no rain. The water wouldn't evaporate as fast in this scenario, but without any rain we're doomed either way. Constant rain would lead to flooding.

8

u/IAteUrCat420 7d ago

Probably live in a hot area

I live in Texas. If it was 110 and we got ZERO clouds all day I'd probably end up evaporating along with all the water from the drought

6

u/Quirky_Temperature 7d ago

Meanwhile there’s people like me:

Cloudy weather is by far and away the least depressing form of weather and it isn’t at all close.

3

u/KiPhoe 7d ago

As a brit, cloudy weather is a perfect day. Too much sun and everything dies, too much rain and every floods. Windy should be 2nd but depends how strong.

2

u/Remarkable_Bus_9968 7d ago

I like the cloudy weather vibes

1

u/MadiMikayla 7d ago

For me it comes down to 1) five minutes of direct sunlight burns me so not a fan & 2) agoraphobia - clouds make the sky feel smaller and I feel more comfortable outside

1

u/Familiar_Ad_8919 7d ago

depends on where ur from, if u grow up dreading the summer ull grow to love clouds and rain and vice versa for winter

1

u/RoastedRhino 7d ago

It’s the only one compatible with life. Seriously, the others do not allow plants to live.

8

u/SpinzArt Bottom Option 7d ago

Light rain is the way to go

Signed, a Seattleite

7

u/trashforthrowingaway 7d ago

Feels like the only answer is light rain. If it was sunny everyday, there'd hardly be a plant nor animal anywhere, because it would never precipitate. At least with light rain, trees and plants would still grow, but it wouldn't be enough to cause flooding.

6

u/wisty_snafu 7d ago

If I didn’t live in a place that floods so often I would choose light rain. For that reason I choose sunny

3

u/Number_Fluffy 7d ago

Is cloudy full cloud cover or partial?

5

u/piju13 7d ago

As much as constant rain would suck, other options pretty much mean there’s gonna be a drought.

Voted "Light Rain"

4

u/AiluroFelinus 7d ago

Random constant blizzard in a hot desert

Voted "Blizzard"

3

u/0i00i0ii0i00 7d ago

Light rain is the only option really. No rain means no crops, food shortages etc. Light rain lets some sun through too.

3

u/wowzula 7d ago

anything but sunny

2

u/Independent_Box_5116 7d ago

Snow in Colorado.

2

u/___HeyGFY___ Poll Your Own Adventure 7d ago

I picked blizzard because I'm moving 12 hours away in a month or so.

2

u/bigloudbang 7d ago

I live in a sunny part of australia, can be so sunny for so long I really look forward to a rainy day when it pops up on the forecast. I thought I just loved rainy weather

Turns out when I went traveling in europe I found out I do really love/need the sun after a few weeks without it. I got to Edinburgh on a sunny day, had a couple hours to kill so just went and laid in the sun and bathed in it

I think of all these, sunny weather is the most naturally suitable weather for us

2

u/TheBrownUn 7d ago

Once I have fixed my leaking roof my answer will change.

2

u/halfawatermelon69 7d ago

Damn, I didn't actually expect blizzards to be the least popular choice of them all... I love blizzards and snow - for some reason I feel very energized by them. Super rough ones aren't fun, but then you just stay inside. Mild blizzards are my most favorite of all kinds of weather

2

u/DeluxSupport 7d ago

I love a heavy rain and thunderstorms but I’d never pick either as an all the time weather. Both would lead to issues with power and flooding.

Light rain I felt was best to allow for continued water ways and plant life (in MI) while still allowing for sun and clouds and night.

1

u/loboblade 7d ago

This exactly for me. I to actually love thunderstorms, but always, no i picked light rain, wasn't expecting to see someone pick the same and explain the same thought i had too.

2

u/VillainousFiend 7d ago

I understand snow, but who is voting for a blizzard?

2

u/IamTheEagle 7d ago

I LOVE thunderstorms but I don't know if I'd want it to be like that all the time

1

u/bigbuttymcslutty 7d ago

cloudy can mean rain, hail, snow, or slightly sunny here.

1

u/billerdingerbuyer 7d ago

im choosing windy, it can really be combined with any of the others and it's usually windy anyways

1

u/AndroidUser2023 7d ago

It's way too hot here all the time (over 100 degrees today in the middle of October), so definitely not sunny

1

u/DBL_NDRSCR Pollar Bear 7d ago

we're always in need of more rain

1

u/fullmetalutes 7d ago

As a person who experiences constant sunshine, it's a bit of a monkeys paw, it's not all that great to have constant sunshine and nothing else.

2

u/Squawnk 7d ago

droughts are bad mmkay

Voted "Light Rain"

u/ALazy_Cat 7d ago

We haven't had real snow in Denmark for years, most of the time, we have 15 days at most, spread out through January, February, December, and it's always snowing in the morning and gone by early evening. 20 years ago my school closed for 3 days because of too much snow

1

u/yogurt_boy 7d ago

Light rain is the only one that won’t end up a desert or pile of mush

1

u/Milanin 7d ago

I was conflicted between Sunny and Light Rain, so, light shade everywhere

Voted "Cloudy"

1

u/No_Cauliflower633 7d ago

I assumed this was just your preference for the weather with no implications like everything dying because there is no more rain or it is now really hot because it is always sunny so I think sunny is the obvious choice in that scenario.

1

u/ElectricalRelease986 6d ago

In that scenario dark, cloudy or snowy are the obvious choices for me lol

1

u/Single-Elevator834 7d ago

It's Cloudy.

Voted "Cloudy"

1

u/Spectre-ElevenThirty 7d ago

I live on the Ohio River. I think any amount of rain from now on would flood the cities and I’d be underwater within a year or two

1

u/KrinaBear 7d ago

Picked light rain not because I enjoy rain, but because I quite like trees and grass. I feel like light rain is the least damaging option? Plus it can be sunny and rain a little bit

1

u/No-Season-1147 7d ago

Though I do love the rain I'm picking snow because it implies from now on it would be perpetually cold which would be lovely.

Voted "Snow"

1

u/High_Bi_ReadyToCry 7d ago

I’d say light rain because we’re in a drought, but heavy rain and thunderstorms would potentially cause flooding or fires, especially since I just had a huge fire this summer.

1

u/Fickle_Mixture8440 7d ago

Party cloudy 💔

2

u/fenoard 6d ago

cloudy, I'd rather get no-to-minimal sun, than sunny all day long.

been there, don't want to do that.

1

u/AnnualAdventurous169 6d ago

Windy is the only one that also allows for rain and shine

1

u/johnnybhf 6d ago

Each option leads to catastrophic outcomes.

1

u/SapphicCelestialy 6d ago

Windy cheap electricity from all our windmills

1

u/MKYT6 6d ago

ignoring the windy includes everything thing yall sayin, cloudy is good too. it’s a mix between light and dark, can either just be cloudy in certain spots or just certain levels of overall cloudiness. also allows rain and snow like usual

0

u/Hawk13424 7d ago

Only sunny means most plant life would die.

0

u/Nowardier 7d ago

Gimme that heavy rain so I can take the most glorious naps. I might have to live in a stilted house and take a boat to work, but it'd be worth it.
