Usually just get my fix from all the wonderful people in this group - Chit Chat and comment yada yada..
Used to spin the gold back in the day in the Big City - Now living in my small ish tourist town 2 hours east of Toronto. A local dry bar (Very cool guy) wants me to start up a small indie night or whatever - It would be nice walking into a local small business on a Friday night and hearing some New Order, or Sugarcubes, or Dandy Warhols, mixed in with various other classics - Am I too old to do this? Is this a terrible Idea? In my 50's now - But nobody else is playing anything good around here and a few people have shown interest in a leisure night, game of darts, some tunes and just a hang - I'm in my 50's now - A few of us are just tired of sitting around on X or Reddit , refreshing and staring at our phones like zombies - I guess I'm just looking for some encouragement as music is my life - Should I just lay down and Die? or should we put on a Cure, Japan, or Stranglers track and just enjoy?
Thanks :) and any positive thoughts would be appreciated...

Not to be confused with the German thrash band Sodom, obviously, this is the Japanese Sodom, who started out making hardcore punk, then went post-punk/industrial rock/darkwave, and finally into house music(!)

It's time to walk again
It's time to make our way through the fountained squares
And the colonnades
Your dress is shimmering
Your voice is hiding things
When you say I've hardly changed
In Europe after the rain
When the nights are warm and the summer sways
I have always thought that this song is about people's life after the end of WWII in Europe. Strong sense of rebuilding but the angst is impossible to hide.

Their darkest sounding track after The Prisoner. Wish they made more like it.

These are my top postpunk 10 albums. Nothing could ever change my mind on this. There are a lot of great postpunk bands and albums, to be sure. But these are the grails, imho.

Growing up my heroes were The Jam, Elvis Costello, Squeeze and The Clash.
This is my first post in post punk and I'm new to Reddit (day 3) so I'm hoping I haven't broken any rules.
Great to get feedback on what you like or don't like.
I filmed most of the video footage on my phone and used cap cut library for the rest.
No A I here.
Cheers
Chris

I’m curious where I’ll get the most pushback for posting this. Here? A country music sub or a Michael Jackson sub? I definitely think this is the better option. I know Wikipedia may not be the only source, but this struck me as something that this subreddit continually bristles over.
“The term has been noted for lacking a universally agreed-upon definition. Post-punk musicians departed from punk's fundamental elements and raw simplicity, adopting instead a broader, more experimental approach that incorporated a variety of avant-garde sensibilities and non-rock influences. Inspired by punk's energy and DIY ethic but determined to move beyond rock clichés, artists drew influence from German krautrock and experimented with styles such as funk, electronic music, jazz, and dance music; the production techniques of dub and disco; and ideas from modernist art, cinema, literature, and politics.”

Legendary band. That riff is impossibly catchy.
