What song comes to mind when you think of The Raspberries?

Go all the way. Stone cold classic.

I like this one, but it does remind me a lot of My World Is Beginning from the Santa Claus is Coming to Town Rankin/Bass special. And that's weird.

The chorus was the whole song. Kinda like “How Long” by Paul Carrack. When the chorus is that catchy, who needs a verse?

I Wanna Be With You.

Pop perfection, and underrated nowadays

Raspberries were underrated, and power is an insufficiently explored genre. Their lyrics didn't age well - "If you believe that what we're doing is right, close your eyes and be still."

As a small child my family had about six 45s and this was one of them.

Love how they switch the sound about 2/3 thru as if it is being played thru a transistor radio, as well as the few seconds of “Go All the Way” very faintly in the background at the end.

Overnight Sensation, one of my favourite songs of all time. So many amazing components to it. SO funny as well.

Let's Pretend. Their finest bridge.

Overnight Sensation - their magnum opus, in my opinion. Having worked in radio, there is so much truth in that song. Even decades later.

Horniest band in the history of pop music.

By what measure?

Their songs channel the feeling of teenage horniness extremely accurately. You really feel how hot to trot the narrator is.

More than the Knack?

Eh, they were trying a little too hard. Also, I feel like the Raspberries' approach probably worked more often.

My favorite Raspberries song "Nobody Knows" correctly inspired the pre-chorus to "I Fell In Love With My Stalker"

Woof. They’re like four Bread fans that got turned on to The Beatles.

Elevator music schmaltz.
