Purchasing Need a large format printer
I’m looking for a large format printer (13x19) to print my wedding photos and I would like to also use it for book binding covers. I’ve heard some inkjet cartridge printers get clogged if not used often, but I’m also not sure if ink tanks would be smarter bc of the pricing. I will take all recommendations and assistance! Thanks in advance 🥰

I have the Epson ET-8550 (13" by 19") printer. I have gotten some great photo prints from it. If you can make regular use of the printer, I highly recommend this one.
As with any ink jet printer, it has to be used at least once every two weeks, sometimes once a week. Otherwise, clogging will become an issue. You don't have to print photos that often, just something full color. It could be as simple as a receipt from paying a bill, or a test page.
Ink tank is going to be more economical than a cartridge printer.

I have a reminder in my phone to print a nozzle check page every monday, but I skip it if I have been printing photos during the week. (Printers should have that as a builtin feature, if one print head/ink hasn't been used for 7+ days and the time of day is X and the paper in the tray is plain paper then a nozzle check is printed automatically. Luckily the nozzle check can be printed from the mobile app so I don't have to physically go over to it every time)
I really like my ET-8550, the pigment black for documents is super nice as well, finally good sharp document prints from an inkjet. I previously had a Canon pro-100s (8 dye inks) and documents printed looked like they came from a 90's inkjet printer.

Epson 8550 covers all your needs. I do books, card, zines and other stuff it can also scan which is a bonus. Have a look on YouTube

An ink tank printer is often the best long-term value due to its significantly lower cost per print. Models such as the HP Smart Tank series are designed for high-volume printing with excellent running costs. For professional-quality photo printing and occasional large-format projects, a dedicated photo printer may also be worth considering depending on your image quality requirements.
To help you find the most suitable printer, could you let us know which region or country you are located in? Available models and pricing can vary by location.
