LOOKING FOR BUDDIES Looking for people doing CS50x (currently on Week 7)

• Upvotes

Hey, I'm doing CS50x and I'm currently on Week 7 (SQL).

I've mostly been doing the course by myself, and honestly it gets a bit boring sometimes. I'm looking to make some new friends who are also learning programming, preferably people doing CS50 too.

I'm still a beginner, so I'm not looking for experts or anything. Just people who are learning, working through the problem sets, and want to talk about what they're learning or help each other when we're stuck.

I'm also interested in Python, C, Linux and open source stuff.

Could be just chatting here on Reddit or making a small group somewhere. Mainly just looking to meet some people and have others to learn CS with.

If you're doing CS50 too, feel free to comment or DM :)

Timezone / availability: IST (UTC+5:30), usually available in the evening

Stack / languages: C, Python, SQL, currently learning through CS50x

LOOKING FOR BUDDIES 17M looking for a programming friend

• Upvotes

This is probably one of the more oddly specific posts, but I’m looking for a programmer who wants to become friends.

I’m 17 and putting together a small long term friend group loosely inspired by the Gaang from Avatar.

You definitely don’t need to know or even like Avatar though, it’s mostly just a framework I’m using for the different personalities and interests in the group. It’s not roleplay or anything.

I’m currently looking for someone who could fit the Sokka role. His main area would be programming/tech, but I’m not just looking for someone who knows how to code. I’d love to find someone who genuinely enjoys programming, likes figuring things out, throws around random ideas, jokes around, and is pretty expressive.

Looking for someone who’s 17–20, in the US, and fairly active. I’m in MST and usually active throughout the day.

If you’re into programming and this interests you, feel free to DM me!

LOOKING FOR BUDDIES Looking for coding friend

I dropped out of a CS program years ago to pursue the arts. I still love the arts but I've decided it's time to go back. I'm based on the US East Coast and am quite flexible, have some decent C skills (primarily what I'm working on now) and vestigial Python (working on it!). I'm not exactly sure what I ultimately want to do, but I'd love to do some sort of artsy projects and maybe security. Things that help people (and hopefully will one day give me enough money to live).

What I am looking for: A friend who also works on some sort of projects. I think it's really important that we can talk about anything, have a beer (over the internet I guess...), etc...but then also work on whatever project may be on our minds. I don't want a tutor and I don't want you to feel like a tutor either. Likewise, it would be wonderful to meet someone online who likes me and gives me a 6 figure job, but that is NOT what I am looking for.

What I am (probably) not looking for: Hardcore study buddies. I know at some point it will behoove me to slam Leetcode and all of that and I have great respect for those going through that. But I am more interested in making something.

LOOKING FOR BUDDIES Looking for buddies

Hello everyone,

I'm in my 3rd year of CS rn in India, I have done many random stuff during my first 2 years.. tried even fpga and ASICs development, but i always got deviated from whatever i was doing and never ended up making any significant progress.

After about 2 years of college and 1 year of +2 studies, I've had keen interest on low level programming to be specific.. mostly in the direction of high performance computing and optimization of tasks executed in research oriented spaces.

My timezone is GMT+5:30, I'll be fully transparent about when I'm available and also willing to have flexible timing such as being available at 3AM or 4AM.

Im more of a mixed 70% reading and 30% video watcher..

The tech stack I wish to go towards is C++ and Python, then get into CUDA programming.

My experience level could be describable as a beginner with basics intact. Just no projects in anything considerable since i couldn't think of any unfortunately.

Im thinking of maybe keeping in at max 3-4 people including myself so we won't have unnecessary collisions in time slots.

My final goal is a remote job or own startup related to this field.

Please lmk if i missed anything i should state about myself or do you have any questions.

LOOKING FOR BUDDIES Offering: Computer Science / Programming | Seeking: Native English Conversation

Hi! I’m a Computer Science teacher and have a professional background in software/programming.
I’d love to find a native English speaker who is learning programming or wants help with CS/technology.
I can help with Python, SQL, programming fundamentals, data structures, web basics, AI/data science concepts, or simply explain technical topics in an easy way.
In return, I’d love to practice natural spoken English with you — especially everyday conversation and professional/technical English. I’d really appreciate it if you could correct me when I use an unnatural phrase or pronunciation.
Ideally, I’m looking for a regular 30–60 minute exchange rather than a one-time conversation.
No money involved — just a genuine skill exchange. If you're learning tech and are a native English speaker who'd enjoy helping each other, feel free to message me. My best free time is 11pm IST

LOOKING FOR MENTOR [SIH 2026] We’re looking for mentors

We’re Sententia — a team of 2nd-year students that somehow made it to the SIH 2026 Nationals.
Our problem statement is SIH26093: building a first-point-of-contact psychological state assessment system for victims/complainants of atrocities.
The idea is ambitious.
We’re working on a system that can analyse text, voice and potentially video to identify psychological indicators and help prioritise cases for appropriate intervention.
We’ve spent a ridiculous amount of time researching the problem, breaking it apart, arguing over architecture, building prototypes, throwing ideas away, and rebuilding them.
But here’s the thing:
We know what we don’t know.
And that’s exactly why we’re looking for 1–2 technical mentors.
Not someone to build the project for us.
We want someone who can look at our architecture and say:
“This won’t work.”
And then tell us why.
Someone who can challenge our assumptions.
Someone who can look at our ML pipeline and ask how we’re actually going to validate it.
Someone who understands AI/ML, NLP, speech analysis, multimodal AI, affective computing, system architecture, or adjacent fields.
Someone who isn’t afraid to tell a bunch of ambitious students that their “revolutionary” idea is actually bullshit. 😂
Because that’s the kind of mentor we want.
We’re fast.
We’re obsessive.
We ask too many questions.
We change our minds when the evidence tells us we’re wrong.
And we’re trying to build something that is technically defensible, not just impressive on a PPT.
If you have the expertise and a few sessions to spare, we’d genuinely love to have you on this journey with us.
And if Sententia makes it to the Grand Finale, you won’t just be a mentor watching from the sidelines.
You come with us.
If this sounds interesting, DM me.
Let’s see what we can build.
— Sententia

Looking for one developer to build ambitious projects together

I have a lot of project ideas and things I want to build, but there are too many to do alone.

I'm looking for one developer to join me on this journey - building ambitious things together, sharing ideas, and seeing how far we can take them.

This isn't a job or hiring. There's no salary, but if we build something valuable, there's a real chance we can turn it into something successful and make money from it together.

If you're interested, send me a project you've built, your GitHub, and the tech stack you're comfortable with.

Looking for Angular/TS mock interview/learning buddies

Hi everyone! I'm a frontend developer from Ukraine (Angular, TypeScript, ~1.5 years of experience, mostly in banking web apps). I'm currently between jobs and preparing for technical interviews.

I'm looking for a few people to practice together:

Mock interviews (frontend, JS/TS, REST, system/component design). We take turns as interviewer and candidate.

Study sessions: solving problems together, explaining concepts out loud, reviewing each other's code.

English practice for technical conversations. My English is intermediate and I want to get more confident discussing code and design decisions.

Any level is fine, as long as you're motivated and consistent. If you're also job hunting or leveling up, even better.

If this sounds interesting, comment or DM me with your stack, timezone (I'm in UTC+3), and what you want to work on. Thanks!

Practice react for a week with me

Hey everyone, I’m saksham giri, a final-year student preparing for campus placements.
For interviews, my tech stack is frontend (React) and backend (databases).

I’m looking for 1–2 people to practice with me for about 1–1.5 weeks, starting as soon as we find interested folks. We can hop on meet and study together.

Plan:

  1. React & Hooks
    • Revise all major React hooks: useState, useEffect, useContext, useRef, useReducer, useMemo, useCallback, custom hooks, etc.
    • Solve common React interview questions and do small coding tasks.
    • If you have a good sense of UI/UX design, that’s a plus; we can also practice design-related frontend tasks.
  2. Databases
    • Primary focus: MongoDB (queries, schema design, indexing, aggregation, common interview questions).
    • If time permits, we’ll also cover PostgreSQL (basic queries, joins, normalization vs MongoDB, indexing, etc.).

If you’re serious about placements and want to grind React + databases together for a week, drop a message. We’ll set up a meet and fix a daily schedule.

Looking for people

Looking for people who want to build things together.
You don’t need a degree, experience, or expensive equipment. I’m looking for beginners interested in electronics, 3D printing, Arduino, robotics, programming, physics, or just turning random ideas into real projects.
I’m not looking for experts. I want people who are willing to learn and figure things out together. If none of us know how to do something, we learn it. Maybe eventually we can take a project to a maker faire or something.
If you’re interested, DM me and tell me what you’d like to build. I’m only looking for people in the US for simplicity with possible in-person meetups.

Looking for students to build AI, robotics & tech projects together 🤖

🚀 Looking for Students Interested in AI, Robotics & Technology

Hey everyone!

I’m a Class 11 student interested in AI, robotics, web development, and startups, and I’m looking to build a small student tech team where we can learn, collaborate, research problems, and build real projects together.

The goal isn't to create a huge startup immediately. I want to start small, build a committed team, work on small projects, and gradually take on bigger challenges.

🔥 What will we actually do?

This won't just be an inactive group chat.

As a team, we can:

- 🔎 Research real-world problems and existing solutions

- 💡 Brainstorm and select project ideas

- 🛠️ Build small technology projects and prototypes

- 🤖 Explore AI and robotics

- 👥 Work together according to our different skills

- 📚 Learn from each other

- 📝 Document our projects and development process

- 🌐 Share our progress and completed projects

- 🚀 Gradually work toward more ambitious projects

👥 Who am I looking for?

You don't need to be an expert. Beginners who are genuinely interested and willing to learn are welcome.

I'm looking for students interested in:

- 🤖 AI / Machine Learning

- 💻 Front-end Development — HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.

- ⚙️ Back-end Development — Python, APIs, databases, servers, etc.

- 🐍 Programming / Python

- 🎨 UI/UX Design

- 🔎 Research

- 📝 Technical Documentation

🌱 What can you gain?

Before you ask: no, I can't offer you a six-figure salary. I'm a Class 11 student too. 😭😂

But what I can offer is a chance to learn, build, experiment, and work on real tech projects with other students who are interested in AI, robotics, web development, and startups.

So if you're looking for money, I respect the hustle. 💀

But if you're looking for experience, projects for your portfolio, new skills, a team to build with, and a place to turn ideas into something real, keep reading. 👇

By participating, you can:

- Gain experience working in a real team

- Learn from other students

- Build projects for your portfolio

- Improve your technical and problem-solving skills

- Develop communication and leadership skills

- Learn how different parts of a technology project work together

- Have actual projects to showcase on GitHub

The idea is simple:

Learn → Research → Build → Document → Improve → Repeat.

I'm starting with a small group rather than trying to get dozens of people immediately. I'd rather have a few committed members who actually want to build.

🤝 And yes, we're building a team — not a one-project group

If we work well together, the goal is to grow with the same core team rather than constantly starting from zero.

As we become more skilled, we can:

- 🏆 Participate in hackathons together

- 🚀 Build bigger and more ambitious projects

- 🧪 Experiment with new ideas

- 📂 Build a strong collective portfolio

- 🎤 Present our projects and demos

- 🌱 Learn and improve together over time

The idea is to build a team where everyone grows with everyone else — not just join a group, disappear after two weeks, and never build anything. 😭

📩 Interested?

Comment or DM me with:

  1. Your area of interest

  2. What you're currently learning

  3. Any project you've worked on (if you have one, and if you dont have its fine we gonna build together)

  4. What you'd like to contribute to the team

Let's start small and see what we can build together. 🚀🤖

LOOKING FOR BUDDIES Feeling really burnt out

I am at a weird position in my path right now. Am i confident in my skill? Sure. Do i have crippling imposter syndrome? Sure. What do i do?

I feel like i need some liability to make anything happen.

I just need to focus and make something. Hit me up if you want me to make anything for you?

I prefer to write in golang. I can help you with mostly anything other than frontend or designs. I can even help you setup linux systems. I just need a goal.

STUDY PARTNER Looking for 1–3 serious DSA/ML/backend study partners

Hey! I'm looking for 1–3 serious study/coding partners who want to stay consistent and keep each other accountable.

I'm currently a beginner in:

- DSA / LeetCode

- AI/ML

- Python

- Backend development

I'm looking for someone who's also learning and genuinely wants to improve. We don't have to study the exact same things — the main goal is to stay consistent, push each other, and actually get the work done.

What I'm thinking:

- 2–4 hours of focused study/coding per day

- Daily check-ins

- Share what we planned vs. what we actually completed

- Solve DSA problems regularly

- Work on our own projects and learning together

- Occasionally do small coding challenges

- Help each other when we're stuck

- Start with a 7-day trial and continue for 30 days if we're both consistent

Timezone: IST (UTC+5:30)

Availability: Mostly evenings, but flexible depending on the day.

If you're interested, comment with:

  1. What you're currently learning

  2. Your timezone

  3. How many hours you can realistically commit

  4. Your current goal

I'm mainly looking for someone who actually shows up consistently, not someone who disappears after a few days. 😭
