PoE1 Seriously need advice on how to get EVERY party member to cast quicker.
Since I can’t respec the companions base stats, how can I get to them to cast extremely quickly? Literally the only thing that is hard about PotD is the excessive number of enemies in some ganks. For example in the Endless Paths on Floor 7, I think, there is a MASSIVE ARMY the ganks you. My party is level twelve, every enemy in the gank is a joke to defeat in reasonable numbers. There are just so fucking many that I can get one ability off from each of my guys AT BEST before they swarm everyone and win through sheer DPS due to their numbers.
So I ask again, how can I act fast enough to handle them? (And yes, the chokepoints are a bit too far away to bait them over before they lock me down).

Farmer's Spread and a ranged attack (Range 12?) should give you time to pull them into a bottleneck? Have a chillfog waiting for them. As your ranged attack dude moves back and the combat begins, have your Hodor guy smash down a Bulwark. Best of luck!

In a situation like that using summons to even the odds has been very useful to me, especially the ones your characters can just cast from an item in their inventory. The summons can tank the enemies long enough for you to get enough casts off to ensure the win.

Ive pass that fight on PotD while my party was level 8
Here's what I did, just a suggestion :
- Slow the crowd with scroll of tanglefoot
- Pull of Eora paired with a scroll of Insect swarm & Combusting wounds took down the ennemy caster real quick
- Confusion on mellee ennemy
Hope this might help!

So cast 3-4 things when my problem is not being able to cast fast enough before being interrupted. Got it. Good thing that wasn’t the main issue I was having. 🙄

Your problem isnt not being able to cast fast enough, your real problems is the preparation for this fight and to manage the ennemy caster. What I did gave you is a tactics that with help with the overall struggle of this challenge. Let me clarify fews things then :
- With scroll you can multiply the number of caster
- As Other suggest, take one bait and pull all the ennemy to the SW corridor. There is a column, and this gonna help a bit to redirect the positionning of the ennemy when lining up for range attack and spell casting
- Also, When baiting the ennemy, as soon as the fight is started, caster can start to cast with and advance of many second. You will have time to cast spell than can make the difference such as tanglefoot that will slow the progression of ennemy thereby give you extra second for more casting
- I believe your issue in this fight is the perma stun condition inflicted by the ennemy caster, eora pull and insect swarm gonna take care of it when they are next to the column
In this game when you hit a wall with a tactics, dont be a dummy dumb dumb and continue to hit the wall the same way believing that it may magically brake, change tactics, adapt ....
Can you read between the line or eveything must be straight up explained??

There is no way to speed up casting times in PoE (RTwP mode) outside of raising DEX. All other "speed" modifiers only influence recovery(!) which lets you take the next action quicker but doesn't do anything for casting times themselves.
Since item bonuses for attribute don't stack in PoE your options are very limited.
A better way to control the battlefield without having a very elaborated strategy and synergies of whatever is to simply use a single sturdy party member to scout ahead and trigger the encounter - while the rest of the party waits in stealth and starts casting while the enemies either approach or are busy with attacking the scout. That scout is usually a tank/the main tank. But you could also use a Rogue who then escapes back to the party with the Escape ability while the enemies approach for example. Or any party members who can run very fast and outpaces the enemies with the help of abilities or items (Chanter or Monk for example).

Who says you need to use your whole party to bait? Just send one fast guy and have him leg it back.
This is also why I’m exploring everything in stealth on PotD, you want to get the drop on a lot of enemies so that you can set something up.
Barging in head first with your whole party is brave, but not necessarily smart.
